>> Since I've seen no further comment or question from Jaycy, I must assume that the questions have been answered to her satisfaction. <<

Kal,

Jaycy has chosen to request a realignment to being loyal due to her friendship with Dalamar.

I wish her well in her choice as I know it is by her own divining.

Collie,

One of us is misunderstanding the other, I believe. The quoted comment is yours in regard to my statement that I'd seen no further response from Jaycy. For my part of this, I did not intend to convey that I'd not seen or heard anything from Jaycy at all. Rather, in regard to issue being address in this thread, I've heard nothing further from her and must, therefore, assume that Jonalyn's private missives have settled the issue.

If you had already understood that, then I fear that I cannot see the relevance to what you have written in response. That request, obviously, contains words from Jaycynda.. but I can not see it as any type of response to this particular thread. That being so, perhaps you could explain to me why you have inserted it here?

>>To those who continue the attempt to force the information from Jonalyn, I must ask.. why? Jonalyn stated clearly that the matter has been discussed via private missive between herself and Jaycynda, so what cause is there to continue on here in full view of the public?<<

Kal~

The accusation was thrown out publicly. One would think that the accusation should be explained just as publicly.

As much as this will shock and amaze everyone, I feel the need to say that I *HAVE* to agree with Sidartha and disagree with Kalamere. We are dealing with a serious issue here. One that actually has little to do with either Jona or Jaycy, personally. The issue is this: Can we fail to hold someone resposnsible for their words?
Jonalyn made a VERY public statement. She questioned Jaycy's honor and integrity and accused her of a "deception." She then, JUST as publicly, cursed Jaycy's reign as a Baroness. A serious accusation, and a serious action. Both made publicly. By making her accusation and action public, Jonalyn chose to make this situation a COMMUNITY matter. She also, despite later claims that it was only her own "two cents" and several personal attacks at those
who desired details, chose to speak FOR THE COMMUNITY without telling the community WHY IT NEEDED TO BE SPOKEN FOR.
This is VERY serious. By making the decision, without consulting Jaycy, to make the matter public, she forfeits her right to hide behind the shield of a "private disagreement." She has, knowingly or unknowingly, planted the idea that Jaycy did or said something dishonest. I would like either evidence of this to be made public, or to see an apology, not to Jaycy alone but also to the community, to be made as publicly as the accusation.
This is a community concern, and it upsets me to see it treated so lightly by one whom I respect as immensely as I do the Baron Kalamere.

Percival and Sid,

What public good does it serve? Aside from satisfying your own curiosity and, perhaps, the chance to throw a barb or two at Jonalyn, what goal is accomplished by the such a public statement?

Beyond the public good, in what way does it assist Jaycy? Neither of you underwent insult, I certainly did not, nor did any other who has written here, aside from Jaycy. She was the only one injured by the statements made and, therefore, the only one who truly holds the right to know. If Jonalyn and Jaycy have already discussed the matter in private, then that right has been satisfied. I believe that, if Jaycy wanted you to know, she would tell
you.

Merely because you do not presently understand my thoughts on this matter, does not equate my treating it lightly. On the contrary, I simply hold a separate level of priorities.

My priority here is not my own curiosity nor a desire to publicly castigate Jonalyn. Rather, it is to see the least amount of hurt come to Jaycynda as possible. Consider the effect of this public statement you are demanding. At the very least it is an accusation tossed at Jaycy. Perhaps the accusation is true.. or perhaps it is merely debatable. Either way it becomes an extended argument that I feel certain Jaycy would rather not have.

Kalamere~

While I understand your point, and you do make a valid point, I don't see why we should hold certain people on a higher standard than others.

For example, Adonai. If he made a base accusation publicly, based on a private conversation, and broke that privacy without concent from the other party, and on top of it all, refuse to provide proof of his accusations, would this community turn a blind eye and ignore it? No, it wouldn't. There would be a great many demands for proof, and when he would refuse to give it, they would call him on it.

Why should Jonalyn be treated with anymore respect than anyone else?

Sid,

I must reverse the question, and I trust you'll consider it rather than answer instinctively.

Say it were the other way around and the person being insulted was one whom you do not care for. I'll not use Adonai or even Jonalyn as my example specifically, but I believe you can see the point. Were this person the one being slandered, would you have lifted your pen?

If the answer to that is yes, then I give you more credit than I. The issue at hand has captured my attention because the person so spoken against is one I consider a friend. It makes little difference to me whether the insult came from Jonalyn, Adonai, Jeff or even Dalamar.

I'll field this one myself... though it isn't directed at me.

If someone offers me insult, I will ask why. If someone offers insult to a friend, I will ask why. If someone offers insult to an enemy, I will ask why. Unless I know from personal experience what the basis of the insult is, I will question of motives of the insulter.
If someone has a question about what I say, they need only ask... and I will do my best to explain.
I do not expect everyone to do the same... I know better than that.
Thank you for your time.

That is noble of you Drake. Though if that be the case, why is it you are one of the few people to have posted in this thread without asking the question "why"?

I've never written much on these boards but this time I have to. I've known Jona for four or five years now, I think. But you only have to meet her briefly to know that if she isn't going to do something just because everybody wants her to. It doesn't matter how many people ask her or demand her to explain herself, she's not going to do it if she doesn't want to. So stop asking.

::The daylight of the beautiful afternoon spills into the hall as Zephyr walks through the door. Haphazardly blown locks of ebony and grey tumble this way and that leaving a frazzled impression. As he passes the boards, he glances at a few which he hopes to glean more information about the current state of affairs. His facial expressions betray his feelings, a purse of his lips, then a small smile, then exasperation- all as he pursues the
current thread. Moved to add a small note, he grabs a quill and a fine piece of parchment from his sack.::

It seems that this discussion has passed the realm of specifics and into the land of philosophics. To whit, the arguement now stands as the question of public statements and public knowledge, i.e. if someone makes a public statement then that gives you the right for public knowledge.

If this is a debate you wish to take, by all means do- but take it to a more general thread and be aware that the end is far from nigh and may never be "right."

For those of you wishing specifics on this situation, a simple letter directly to those involved would certainly suffice. If they feel it important enough that you must know, they certainly will tell you. But lets take the fact that neither of the two have bantered between each other in this matter in public as a sign that they are more mature than those who call for it all to come out.

Both seem satisifed to keep the conversation between themselves.

It is their right. It is right to do.
