Apology

::the aged warrior slowly approached the boards, his face tear-stained from his emotional return home::
Fellow Patrons of the Duel of Swords,
My failure to attend the challenge this evening is inexcusable, and for that I most humbly apologize. There are times in everybody's lives where they must make decisions, and unfortunately tonight was one of those times for me.
I received word early this evening that my father's health had rapidly deteriorated, and that death appear imminent. I spent a matter of hours sitting by his bed with him until he eventually passed away. Even then, my period to grieve was short, as his death has left me with many new responsibilities to my family and homeland that I had to deal with. I was forced to choose between returning to defend my crown this evening and fulfilling my duties as
a Lord and a Son. I chose the latter.
Nothing happened tonight the way I wished it would have. I had hoped that the match could be postponed, but that was foolish. Now the matter has been turned over to the council, and I shall await their decision. I would be lying to say that I do no whole-heartedly hope that they see fit not to strip me of the title, as I there is no honor in my reign ending in this manner. Yet, my fate is no longer in my hands. I have never had any intention of
doing anything but fulfilling my responsibilities as Overlord, and that will never change for however longr I continue to hold the mantle of Overlord; be it days now, or longer.
Again, I offer you my humblest apologies. This evening, I failed in my responsibilities to the sport and to you, the community, who make this sport truly grand. May god light all of your paths.
sincerely,
Lord Dalamar Ar'Daumon

M'Lord Dalamar...
I remember the night you interceeded for the Baron AJay, who was grieving for the loss of his own father... and I can find no fault in your actions.
As I have stated myself... Family comes first, and always should.

Dalamar,
The Clan Girvin grives with you in your loss. Rest in the knowledge that what lies beyond this life has little of it's sorrow.

M'Lord Dalamar,
Your lose is a grieveous one, and you have my deepest sympathies for it. I was more than sure that your absence last eve was well founded....and I am sorry that this was the reason.
In the span of days I am sure the Council shall have ruling on this and you will be relieved of the burden of worry.
