As I was not here when everything took place, I also was happy to see someone stand up the way you did Huma, as Kalamere said, it was a breath of fresh in amongst a time when there has been nothing but mud slinging and utter nastiness toward others. However, seeing you now go back on your word, it pains me to see this happen. I will not lower myself to belittle you and call you names as others have been doing. I see no honor in name calling. Try and not force this whole issue into one of political destruction and hatred. Huma is a man, he placed a challenge. Its fairly simple. Had this been in any other situation, say a Warlord to a Baron everyone would have just nodded and noted thats what the rules state. As such that happened to Darkness. Now while I understand that Lord Dalamar was delayed by wholly unavoidable and grieveous cirmcumstance, and I truly bear him no ill will
in this situation, the rules of this sport have dictated this turn of events.....not Huma.
Let us relax and try to enjoy ourselves rather than rush into an outbreak of loyalist and renegade rhetoric. The Council holds guardianship of the Crown until such time they deem to make decision of its status. And given that so many think that Huma should have ignored the rules and waited for a postponment I am more than sure the Council will return the Crown to Dalamar and force a resheduling of the match.
As to the rules, the duel between Huma and Jeff is a moot issue, nothing could be or would be decided until the Baronial Council offered final ruling. Should Huma have rescinded, aye that would have looked well in the eyes of the community. But it would have done little to satisfy justice and stay in adherence of our rulings.
So please......relax. And stop with this line of personal destruction. The sport itself is no better for it....whatever your motivations.

It seems that your memory is a bit lacking, as you were on the Council that voted to allow him a second chance the first time he missed a challenge match. In fact, if memory serves me correctly, you voted in favor of Darkness getting a second chance.

And I haven't forgotten a thing Sartan, I was in favor of Darkness and you recieveing the chance to fight the match then.....I personally am not against Dalamar and Huma getting the chance to fight their match again. You jump to petty personal conclusions and simply assume that I wish to see Dalamar unthroned by any means necessary and you are quite wrong. I agree totally with Master Girvin that this situation should be decided by the
Council and I have in NO WAY indicated that I think the Overlord should be stripped of his title. In fact I have more to the case been positive to the fact that the match should be rescheduled by the Council on the Overlords past record of successful defenses.
So please Baron, try and read what I say....not what you think I say.

This flame has been sparked before. I should know ... I used to think in these ways. And it is nothing more than someone losing, not liking a challenge, or a rule used. You don't like it, that's just too damn bad. Helix and such made the rules and enforces them(new set anyway). So, in less you are speaking with RDI's, Dal will have and use the power he is giving. Get the picture? His fate is set in stone. How and when he loses the crown, no one
will know. But I tell you what ... you don't like dueling, politics, etc., than leave. This sport is *NOT* what it used to be and never will be again. What's that, care to know why? Cause what you are trying to do is bring back the past or yell down someone's throat about something you don't like. Get that through your heads and maybe you will see that Dal is not the problem. He is just everyone's escape goat cause he has held the crown for so long.
And to that, another point. We have a change of the crown ... and that makes things right again? Hell no. It just means that DoS will find another thing to disagree with. So, try looking at the other side for a change instead of dwelling on the past and trying to remove someone from there ranking. Time will win, not force. Also, Dal will probably retire before someone beats him.

We need a new sport, Lupton, one I wouldn't be ashamed to raise my daughter in the vicinity of. I'd wash Delilah's mouth out with soap -and- take away her red crayons if she ever got half as venomous and cruel as the "sporting patrons" around here have become.

I have been Huma's friend for a long time. I have known him as a person to do exactly what he did do last night. The community's opinion of him was not great before this, and is certainly downright horrible now.
I still consider Huma a friend, but I am afraid that I can no longer support him in his quest to become Overlord. Although Baron Oakenshield did have some rather biting criticism of Huma, it was Huma that proposed the match of honor, and the wager. I thought it was a bad idea in the first place, but my opinion doesn't matter.
As a Baron and voting member of the council, I will not be taking into account Huma's duel of Honor with Baron Oakenshield. It was outside of the rules, and between them. That it was made public means that every individual can take from it what they will. But I believe that the Barons should not use it in deciding their vote.
As for my vote, I must say that I am unsure where I should place it. I want to somehow punish Dal for him not showing up, but although I am Renegade I do not want to see the longest reigning Overlord end his reign on a forfeit. Therefore, I am rather stuck. I suggested the possibility that Dalamar should not be allowed to use the Test in a rescheduled duel, but it appears that that option is not available. The only other option would be to
include Dalamar in a tournament of Barons, but I myself do not think that to be a feasible option.
To clarify twice former Baron Darkness' history, he did not show up late to a challenge twice. In his first reign, he did not respond in a timely manner to a challenge. In the second, he did not show up to the match.
Should you have any response to this, you should know how to reach me.
