>>THE OVERLORD AND DIDNT SHOW UP FOR MY DUEL I WOULD FEEL DISSAPOINTED ABOUT MYSELF THE OTHER PERSON WORKING SO HARD THEN FINNALY GETTIN HIS/HER CHANCE TO BECOME SOMETHING, THEN HAVING SOMEONE NOT SHOW UP, YOU GOT TO WONDER WHAT KIND OF PERSON THAT REALLY IS, I BELIVE HUMA GOT SCREWED AND SHOULD BE OUR OVERLORD AND THATS ALL I GOT TO SAY<<

Huma our Overlord? Um...well, no comment.

What's so wrong here? I, personally, think that mercy was well served on both sides. Huma still has his peer wins, all 15 of them. If you call that being "screwed", that's your problem.

Jake~

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they said that he cannot challenge for *that* title again this cycle.

Hmmm. Thanks for pointing that out. I mis-read something. Ah well. Why didn't he go for Baron then.. hmmm, Wow. Not something to quit over, for sure. But, still i think he diserved the challenge to be re-set.

Sid,

How can you say mercy was well served on "both" sides. Dal retained his crown with no fight, and had to pay 10,000 crowns, which I may add isn't a lot. Huma, the one who acctually showed for the challenge, gets stripped of his challenge to the overlord. You say he could still challenge a Baron, which he could have, but why would he want to? He had clearly stated that all he wanted was a shot at the overlord. You call this merciful for both
sides......how can you?

If you think this, sir, perhaps you should head to the less fortunate areas of RhyDin and tell THEM that. Some, if not all of them would be fed for the rest of their lives with such a sum of money.

Y'know, I'd answer this, but after what happened at the Arena tonight, I'm not going to put myself infront of the firing squad over this right now.

<<Ta Huma lost. Ta Huma did then, go back on his word and did go as far as to slap ta DoS, ta Baron's Council, and everyone who hold honor dear. Ta Huma choose ta flaunt his useless word as his banner, and he claimed ta right by ta blind rules ta try and fly that standard in ta Arena in ta place of ta Over Lord.>>

But Nycholas said specifically that it was not a valid condition to the duel. Had Jeff lost, he would not have lost his ring. Why should Huma lose his right to challenge then, because he lost? Huma's conditions as stated were of no avail.

I'm pretty sure Jeff's intention was to retire the ring if he lost. At least he would have kept his word.

How much longer will this issue be debated?

Had the council scheduled a rematch, people would still complain. Everyone here knows that no matter what the outcome, people wouldn't be happy. You can't please everyone.

(Summer)<<I be there luv, and Nych did nae say that.>>

I was not there, but I read on the board an account of the story, which included that, as well as post my own compilation of stories, which was not corrected.
My pardons if I am incorrect.

(Sid)<<I'm pretty sure Jeff's intention was to retire the ring if he lost. At least he would have kept his word.>>

(The following is based on the opinion that I heard previously that Nych did say it)

Ah, but Huma was dueling with the assumption that he would win the ring were he to defeat Jeff. Would anyone make a condition which has no possibility at all of being a gain for themselves?
If Jeff had lost, he would have certainly given up the ring, barring Nych's statement. But once again, acc. to Nych's statement, since a victory for him would not have prevented Huma from challenging, would he have agreed to the stipulation on those conditions?

<<Huma was dueling with the assumption that he would win the ring were he to defeat Jeff.>>

That would not be a very wise "assumption" to make. If Jeff lost, Jeff agreed to give up his ring, as in retire from the title, not give up his ring, as in give it to Huma. If Huma lost, Huma agreed to not push his challenge with Dalamar. To read more into that is leaping without enough evidence/information.

Aside from that, Huma already stated here on the boards that the reason he fought the duel was to just do whatever Jeff wanted so he could leave (a rough paraphrase).

Until Huma says otherwise, I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt that he did not think he would get Jeff's ring if he won the honor duel

>Would anyone make a condition which has no possibility at all of being a gain
>for themselves?

Yes. In the positive sense, it is called "altruism." In the negative sense, it is done to take something away from the opponent, which in turn gains the person agreeing to the condition a sense of satisifaction, revenge, justice, >insert emotion here<, etc.

Just a few contributions to the discussion.

She does a double take reading Morgan's response to someone wondering how she missed the person's comments.

Morgan is correct here, it would not have been a wise assumption, however not even Huma claimed he thought he was getting Jeff's baron's ring..

::Grins to all this non-sense:: Keep on fighting, and nothing will be taken care of. You all will just go on and on about this, and get nothing done. Keep track of more important things as of now. For,this post has gotten too many papers stuck to the back of it, including this one.

Yes, i agree, and i am not taking sides. I think Huma, should have gotten a re-match. But, I think it was wrong and dis-honorable of him to retire from such a thing. Atleast go out with a bang, some sparks, and even a farewell hand shake. Seems he ain't in the mood for games. Same for me, but, i can handle. You guys keep driving people away with your politics.

So, why don't ye give it up, and have fun?
Is this too hard?
What would you do without all this talk on Huma's duel?
Questions and no answers. Hmmm, seems there is too much babling and no actions.
