My pardon if you took that as a direct insult. It was a harsh comment but not directed specifically. I have been fighting the wiles of public opinion for a long time now and sometimes my own tiredness with it all causes me to have trouble restraining my temper.

From the Rules of Engagement, concerning Loyal Barons.
"1. Loyalist Barons may intercede on challenges to the Overlord, provided the Overlord accepts the intercession."
Now, where it is not stated in writing that the Overlord must inform -anyone- that he has selected a champion... not even the person selected, you'll note. It is -clearly- a matter of common sense that he would, in fact, have to. After all, if the official is -not- informed that a champion has been selected, how can he call the duel?
Without the Overlord telling the official, what is to stop -anyone- from coming forward and saying they were selected to be the Champion? Again, this is -clearly- a matter of common sense.
As for the second rules quote I provided, it is to head off any statements that Jeff was only exersizing his right to do so, as Dalamar was not there to indicate his acceptance.
Also note that if the Overlord accepts a Loyal Baron's intersession, he may -still- call for a "Test of Worthiness" and appoint a champion... as the rules are currently written.
If you truely wish it, once a new supervisor is appointed, I will bring up these issues and work to make sure all of the obvious, common sense clauses are covered in the rules.

I do recollect 'er instructin' Master Nycholas an nae long after that she departed th' basement. Mayhap th' Barons, Sartan or Jeffrey canst comment 'pon th' matter or mayhap Master Nycholas. Tis I fer one wouldna wish such a situation ta agin rear its head if it canst be avoided.
