>First off i am sick and tired of seeing the term lap-dog. If anyone out there
>thinks I'm some kind of lap-dog, what is stopping you from comming and taking
>my ring away huh?

Baron Stonecutter,

I believe as it was so aptly shown in our challenge, that should someone wish to remove your ring from your hands......the Overlord would not allow you to defend it on your own. If you have issue with this statement I would be more than happy to reissue a challenge to you should you still have the fire and bravado that backs these quoted words and choose to face me on your own.
Otherwise.....my suggestion would be not to make such belligerent noise if you cannot back up your words without the blade of the Overlord defending you.

Good Day,

Thank you, Drakewyn, for expanding on something that troubled me too. You explained the difference between blind law, and all seeing justice better than I ever could.

Sir Cassius, I thank you also, for your kind words and understanding regarding our Overlord.

Sincerely,

Morgan

M'lord Uziel,

First off, it was not me who asked the Overlord to step in, it was Dalamar who offered his blade to me. I refuse to get caught up in the middle of what goes on between the two of you. I was used as a stepping stone for you to challenge Dal. You know as well as I that had you challenged him outright he would have tested you. As a Baron however, he gave his word he would not test another Baron comming for his crown. I have no beef with you M'lord,
though we don't see eye to eye, I do admire you for standing by your convictions as you do, many have called you this or that in the past and perhaps I joined in song with them, but I take the high road now, as I should have then. My comments were made simply because I am tired of being refered to as a lap dog. Period.

Dragoon Talandor,

The masses, the majority of the community, disagrees with the decision for the sole reason that it is wrong.

Dem Cyrax

First, I no longer have a wooden leg, update your knowledge of me, please.

Second, I have remained mostly silent on this entire subject, please tell me where I have done any whining.

>>What could he have done? He did enough by announcing his reason of why he didn't show. That changed many of the votes on the coucil, or that is my guess at least. I was told during the Clutch event to ignore his reason for not showing. Dal's seems to have changed a lot of the
decisions.<<

And this is Dalamar's fault...how? I'm sure if he hadn't given his reason for not showing, people would fault him for that as well. Always gotta have someone to point the finger at.

>>His father my have passed on, but he still missed a match. We all know that no one else would have received so lenient a punishment as 10,000 gold coins.<<

We all see where your priorities lie. I grieve for your father.

You see it's like this. The masses didn't agree with our decision because they aren't able to defeat Dal, so what they did is they verbally attack us, his Barons with terms such as Lap Dogs to make up for their shortcomings.

Don't forget blind.

G'nort,

I am afraid I have to agree with Lupton here, entire ranks of people that were once enemies have thrown aside their past grievences to agree that in this instance....the Council voted in a fashion that was not in the interest of the sport, but completely biased to the wants and needs of the Overlord.
Had the Council been more level with their vote, and the option they voted for been more acceptable to the community this falling out would not have occurred. In my eyes, even from the the day of the challenge that Dalamar missed due to grieveous circumstance, the match should have been voted as a reschedulement.
Huma lost everything and Dalamar lost nothing....and the community views that as unfair and unjust. The ever loyal bulldog Oakenshield and his protege Sartan, in complete contrivance to destroy Huma at the Overlords whim turned the entire Council towards a vote which was totally unjust and without merit on the basis of an unofficial match between the Dwarf and Huma. Which as past precedent has shown, means nothing. Unsanctioned matches are not
recognized by the sport. And all honor, and word aside...what has happened here is a Old Boys Club travesty that I hope to never see repeated in this sport again.
And because of this the Loyals have garnered their just desserts, a community in turmoil, strong loyals turning from their pledge of loyalty out of their own sense of honor. These are the things that you bought with your vote, and the Council bought with theirs.
I am somewhat disconcerted at your violent response to peoples feelings here, as they have justifiable reason to have them. And no.....the community is not mad because they cannot beat Dalamar. Dalamar can be beaten....I've done it myself in the past and I have seen many others do so. The community is mad because those they trust to lead and lead well took a hand in the unjust abuse of power that no one in this sport wished to see happen.
And that is why you are called *lapdog* and *blind* ,not out of frustration, but out of righteous anger.

Respectfully,
~Adonai Uziel

>Huma lost everything and Dalamar lost nothing

Huma lost one thing: His right to challenge the overlord this cycle.

Dalamar lost:

a) his father
b) 10,000 gold crowns
c) an untarnished record
c) credibility toward a perfect attendance rate.

Which past precedent are you referring to?

Heath,

Very little of your post was based on "fact," as you claimed at the beginning. What is a fact, however, is that your diatribe was based on your opinion.

There were only two factual statements you made and they are: "The overlord has failed to show for an accepted and agreed apon challenge" and "The council comprised of a majority of the overlords loyal barons voted on what action should take place".

Everything else must be discarded as "fact" as a result of your charged and biased choices of words. Those are not facts, those are statements of opinion.

You have a right to your opinion. You have a responsibility to differentiate between what you say is based on your opinion and what you say is based on fact.

>Were a renegade Baron to NOT show up to a challenge he WOULD NO DOUBT be
>dethroned, Were a challenger to NOT SHOW his challenge would be forfeited
>with his peer wins and his right to challenge.

This is hardly credible. You do not know the outcome of the next incident any more than anyone else in this realm.

Many of you fail to realize that some of the loyal barons have a respect and a regard for some of the renegade/neutrals. If, for instance, Magnus (just as an example), were challenged, and his challenger did not show up because of something as irresponsible as not knowing Rhydin time conventions, I would have voted in Magnus' favor.

To touch on the other issues not related to this particular one, I wonder why it is so shocking to find that a person in power is striving to build up strong support? If I were Overlord, I would certainly want to do whatever I could to ensure a loyal majority of barons. It is one one level, simply a matter of strategy. On another level, it is the way of titles and rights to them. People do what they can do to hold their titles. Others do what
they can to stop the strategic manueverings. If they fail, always someone else will step up to try. It is simply the nature of the beast, so to speak.

Jeff,

I have one to add to the list. I can't take credit for it personally, nor can I remember who originally said it. However, I do share it with you now for your pleasure and amusement.
