Respective titles,
I wrote to Dal, stating I planned to be loyal, but needed to know who I would be loyal to. I shouldn't ask. He once wrote to me, do not be loyal unless I plan to stick with it to the bitter end. I don't think I can, anymore.
After much consideration on this twenty-eighth day of October, I give up all claim of loyalty to the Overlord and hereby announce my intention. That of renegade.
Moreover, I would rather be among the barons I deem chose the right path presented at the fork in the road. There are loyal barons whom I would rather not be amongst.

Var,
You write... "There are loyal barons whom I would rather not be amongst."
This sentence causes me to ask this... is it the Loyal Barons you're really declaring yourself renegade to, or the Overlord? It almost seems to me you are disagreeing with the actions of the Barons, and not the Overlord, and are changing alignment because of them, when Loyalty should be in regard to the Overlord, and not the Barons who stand loyal to him.
Simply,
Jaycy

Barons:
I just can't imagine this. Baron after Baron turning and for what reason? You were the ones who voted, not us. Aj, Seamus, and now Var? I ask you all please reconsider your actions for as I will state once again, you voted not us.

Var.
With all due respect, for you are a friend and a house-mate... I must ask you to reconsider your decision.
This may be seen by many as violating my stance of Neutrality, but that is exactly what I am asking you to do.
There is no reason for you to be Renegade against Dalamar.
My Father once said to me... if you do not like the company your friends keep, keep company with your friends, and walk away when the others come near.
It is said that a person can be judged both by the strength of their enemies and by the company they keep.
I say judge a person on their own merits.
If your reasons were the same as Seamus', or AJay's, I could accept this... but if your reasons are based upon the actions of the other Loyal Barons alone, I must ask you to reconsider.
Neutrality is a harder stance to keep than it seems, but I shall attempt to remain so.

Becoming Renegade is not a crime, nor necessarily negative.

Var,
This is going to sound strange coming from me, but ask yourself why you are changing your alignment. Is it because your feelings have changed towards Dal? Or is it because your feelings have changed toward some of the other Loyal Barons? This is an important question. You should not support or oppose Dal because of who supports or opposes him. You and I are friends, but I have never asked you to oppose Dal because I oppose him. Neither should
you oppose him because you are angry at those who support him.
If you truly have cause to oppose Dal, in your heart and mind, then by all means do so. There is nothing wrong with changing your alignment to Renegade if it is truly what you believe is right. I would even applaud your decision. After all, I am rumoured to share similar beliefs.
On the other hand, if you still feel the same way about Dal, but you are angry at certain of the Loyal Barons, then you are making a mistake. It would be wrong to change your alignment because you disagree with the more rabid pro-Dalamar factions if you still support Dalamar in your heart. I still believe he is an honourable man, and their actions are not necessarily his. Perhaps he should have distanced himself from their actions, but I
honestly believe that any of us would have a hard time censuring the actions of friends whose only thought was to give us aid and comfort in a difficult time.
Basically, it comes down to this. Do you have issue with Dalamar or do you have issue with his Barons? Ask yourself this question, and then make your decision based on your answer.

Now that loyalty has no practical meaning for the next couple of weeks, it seems like a lot of barons suddenly want to take a walk on the wild side.
What has Dal done that could warrant such a movement? Anything that he did was supported by the same barons that are changing alignments.
Expect a widespread switchover to loyalty during the days right before DoS starts up again.
