Two items, Khrys. I believe that Mr. Trevalmar a) considers the ban from dueling to be an official "shun" and b) that perhaps it should not take more than disrespectful behavior to cause someone to be shunned/banned. As an example, the other evening I was witness to a Certain Person## uttering explicit vulgarities, and then another Certain Anonymous Person speaking in an ambiguous, masked vulgar manner to Marzan and Topaz. I do not think this
behavior should be tolerated whatsoever. Unfortunately, an RDI was not present, for if they were, I am sure they would have either reprimanded the offenders or evicted them from the basement for the remainder of the evening.

I have to admit that when I first read the quoted passage, I, too, thought there were two items regarding respect and courtesy; first having it toward all, lastly, toward the RDI's. I see that it was simply something stated, then stated again in slightly different words.

I think, before taking offense at what Mr. Trevalmar says, you should consider that perhaps he is putting great faith in the power of the RDI's and vocalizing a hearty support of the RDIs in doing the job they are very capable of doing as well as vocalizing a suggestion that perhaps the RDI's could become further empowered and confident of support from the proprietor to take control of certain... undesirables... running amuck in the arena.

At least, that is how I interpreted his intent, especially since he genuinely expressed interest in helping with the task.

Huma and Aja both dueled with beef sticks for a short time... and Nessa's insisting everyone duel me with nerf swords, ever since she learned about my pregnancy.
But back to Black Feather's original comment that started this... I sincerely hope no one took him to task over his comments towards me. I certainly found them to be funny.

Morgan dear.....

I took no offense at what was said... I only wished to make sure that he understands that regardless of his faith in what we can and cannot do as RDI, we simply ~can't~ force someone to behave the way we might wish them to.
If they actually break the rules, then we can do something.... but only if they break the rules of the Inn and the Arenas.

Let's test the waters a bit ... what of a voluntary **Bladeless Night once per cycle just to help keep things in perspective? I would suggest it be officially recognized, but not required, I wouldn't want to stand in the way of two people in need of a serious duel.

**Bladeless Night- please help with a better name to get the point across, something that says unconventional. Now to cover my butt -- To prevent a potential argument over the chosen name (should such a night be deemed worthy of adoption) I would be more than happy to catalog all suggestions up until an undetermined deadline can be set (help me there also) and a method of voting contrived and executed (I would look to members of the beer stained
cloth for help on that one). Just send your ideas of a name in my direction, if nothing else I will post the finished collection up for kicks.

Suggested guidelines for choosing a name:

-- All names be collected by one party (presumptuous, but ... Me!)

-- Settle on a reasonable cut off date for suggestions.

-- Contrive and schedule a vote.

-- Post all suggestions up for review nine days prior to the vote to allow for discrepancies to be corrected. (yes there may be some who use this as an extended deadline but that's an acceptable price for doing things right)

-- I think we all know what kinds of things NOT to send ... @#%*^~& etc...

Here ye here ye. Now called to the ring of imagination, all persons , aliens, dwarves,elfs,trolls and barnyard critters for a night of Dueling extrvaganza.
All blades , staffs and light sabers are to be checked at the door.
Bring your rubber chickens if you have them, Hair Brushes, Nerf swords, Feathers, or whatever you creative thinkers can pilpher.
I will be there with my 50/50 bar ( orange and Vanilla of course). But ye must agree to lose swiftly so I can get it back to the freezer before it melts.

I would assume the arena is open for play, and who needs the Ward when the worst that can happen is a slap up side the head with a frozen tuna fish?
