Talking with a legend

Badger Walked through the halls near the Arena, his thoughts a million miles from where he was. It had been the best night he had ever had at the Duels. He had only needed 1 more win to make Master At Arms and had actually won two duels. But that was not the amazing thing that happened. Tonight he had met a legend, perhaps the biggest legend that DoS had ever had. In his ignorance he did not know half of the great names of the duels but he knew this one. Tonight he had come face to face with Bishop
himself.

That he had seen Bishop duel was an enormous thrill, but to speak to him was almost more than he could believe. Badger could still feel the aura that surrounded Bishop. Did he imagine it, or was it real? Perhaps it was just the emotion of the moment, then again perhaps not. Badger reflected back upon his conversation with Bishop, and stopped dead in his tracks. "My god" Badger thought "Bishop must believe me to be crazy. I gave him a pledge of loyalty and service. What could one such as he ever need from
the likes of me?" Walking on badger began thinking about it again "I meant what I told him. If ever he had need of me I would gladly come at his call"

Badger Turned a sharp corner and halted again. In his walk he had become uncertain of where he was. The passageway opened out into a great hall but it was dark with no moon showing through the windows in the far wall. Badger knew that some of the rooms at the Arena complex had Magically enchanted lights that could be activated by any loud noise, and perhaps this large hall was thus equipped. Badger swung his Great Ax against the stone wall with a resounding Clang and a slight blue spark flew from the
steel blade.

The lights in the room blazed to life, revealing banners of every color and description hung around the walls. Badger gasped in awe "This is the hall where the Warlords hang their banners" He said in a reverently soft voice. He walked among them trying to match the banners to the proper warlord and was ashamed to realize that he knew few of them. Here was a banner with a Dragon, there one with just a single color, while still others were veritable rainbows. As he walked Badger felt the history of the
duel of swords upon him like a weight.

Badger stopped in front of a huge banner with a rose on it, a voice echoing clearly in his mind "Rest here Badger, at last you have found a home" Badgers eyes felt so heavy he could no longer hold them open. His Ax slipped from his fingers clattering to the stone floor, and Badger slumped to his knees. Within minuets Badger lay asleep at the foot of the unknown Warlords banner, a broad grin upon his face. The magically enchanted lights slowly grew dark and Badger was lost to the world of dreams.
