Alive without breath, as cold as death.
Never thirsty, always drinking.
Clad in mail, never clinking.
What am I?

Here's a few more... from my self-same source...
What would a dozen branches with thirty leaves on each be?
What goes through the door without pinching itself?
What sits on the stove without burning itself?
What sits on the table and is not ashamed?
"Whilst I was engaged in sitting, I spide the dead carrying the living." What did I see?
After these are answered, I'll have some more...

First an easy one:
A rich man has 3 sons. Just before he dies he takes his 3 sons into a room of his house. He gives each of them a few coins and tells them to go and buy whatever something in an attempt to fill the room they were in. The son that coudl fill the room would recieve the man's inheritance. The first son went out and bought as much hay as he could, but only filled half the room. The middle son went out and bought all the wood he could find, but only
filled 2/3 of the room. The youngest son went out and bought to small things and carried them home in his pocket. When he got home he took them out, used one on the other, and instantly filled the room.
The question is: What were the things he bought?
Okay, here's the stumper:
A pirate captain has a ship (as most of them do). Whenever a board on it rots he replaces it. Now, the simple question: If he eventually replaces every board on the ship is it a different ship or not?

No one will ever get this riddle -- ever! If you do, you are cheating. Haha!
With no wings, I fly.
With no eyes, I see.
With no arms, I climb.
More frightening than any beast,
Stronger than any foe.
I am cunning, ruthless and tall,
And in the end, I rule all.
