Lest anyone believe my ire to be pointed toward Lupton, let me be quite clear --
The ward is there for a reason. It is not within anyone's purview to lower the ward and I am simply apalled that someone in an official capacity to the Red Dragon Inn had the audacity to think they had a higher power to take the matter into their own hands and only slightly less stunned that those around to witness the event truly believed this someone had the power and the authority to do such a horrifying thing.
If a person wants to fight a duel to the death, so be it. If an official wants to call the match in question, so be it. However, it should not be done in the Red Dragon Inn Arena or related dueling areas. Take it elsewhere where the Ward of Gondar in conjunction with the Red Dragon Inn does not have jurisdiction!
Must I now take into account that any duel I participate in could be arbitrarily decided by those in power that the ward does not apply and my life is in a potentially perilous situation? Is that really what the Duel of Swords is about?
I would like an official response to this question: Do the people employed by the Red Dragon Inn have the power and the authority to tamper with the Ward of Gondar and override its very reason for being?

Let it be known that I used my magicks to negate the power of the ward in the ring for the match between Lupton and Anon at -Anon's- request, not Luptons. Let it also be known that I did -not- officiate said match, for Anon made it clear he did not see me as an impartial party.
If anyone else wishes to impune my impartiality as an official, let them come forward and do so to my face.
And for those who claim I disregard the history and traditions of the Arena... you clearly do not know me at all.

I am having difficulty seeing the reasoning behind disregarding this very simple rule regarding restraint. Drakewyn, do you feel somehow that you are above the spirit of this sport to use your "magic" to negate something that was put there for a reason? I can almost forgive Anon for not knowing any better, though that is a poor excuse, but you knew better by both virtue of being an official of this sport and being one who has been here for quite
some time. You do not have the right to tamper with the intentional restraints placed upon participants and outcomes of this sport.
To others that brought it up, there is no reason to petition for something that is already clearly defined in the rules.
