* A scrap of paper found lying upon the floor by the boards, perhaps written by Percival's former employer.. *

" .. and the only time he opens his mouth seems to be to change the foot currently placed inside.. "

*And, upon the boards.*

My, someone's quite heated. As the saying goes, you have removed all doubt, Duc de n'importe ou. Thank you for saving me the time for discovering it myself.

Jona,

How can ye say Jaycy is deceitful? She is one of the most honest and loyal people I know. Please tell me how her challenge was deceitful and how lowering the ward was. The way I see it, it was her job to lower the ward, it being a duel. Besides though, Anon, as I have heard, was beheaded after the duel. Perhaps the ward didn't need lowering. They could have dueled, and the loser was brought to the guillotine, as much as I hate that. It is not
her fault these two dueled in a duel to the death, so pleae don't blame her for it.

The commoner breaks into a merry peal of laughter as she peruses Percival Marchand de Clermont's diatribe. Snagging the quill she pens a note tacking it to the corkboard.

Percival,

I find it most amusing that thou so blithely and cavalierly do credit me with such. Wouldst care to state whose marriage I have destroyed, whose reputation hast fallen, and clarify the wherewithall for thine statement that tis I that have sewn strife and discord?

Perhaps thou shouldst direct the question of her deceit and dishonor to the Baroness, or better still perhaps thou wilst open thine eyes, once thee have recovered from thine spewing of bile, and seek out the information, for tis now, ast it ever was, available to any with the wit to be aware of it.

Perhaps thou, Percival, he who didst attempt to establish a house based on sportsmanship and honor, might consider that thou mayhap hast little of either within thee. Ast to thou having the "lawful right" to christen anyone, let alone mineself, mayhap thou hast the "right" in thine own Duchy, Percival, yet since I am nae a citizen of thine Duchy, praise be, thine "rights" hold no sway.

Madame Ashleana ist certes aware of her actions, her deceit and her dishonor and her, to use thine own phrase turned abit, her unsportsmanlike conduct. We shall see if she, at last, hast the fortitude to stand forth before the community.

Backbiter,

Let me see. Someone made a great deal of comments and innuendo regarding Luthien Tinuviel when she was married to Iain MacKenzie. When these comments were circulated, without any evidence being given to support them, they became the talk of the Arena. Let me see, who was it who started the rumors? Well, I'll be! It was you! How shocking.
You have hurled innumerable slanders at Jaycy, Huma, Seamus, and others. Some things you have said about some people have been true, but you do not seem to care whether what you say is true or not. What is more, you say nothing to anyone's face. You do it on the boards.
Quite simply, you are at least as disgusting as those you condemn, and are far worse than some of the innocent people who you contaminate with your foul venom.

Master Nicholas.

The Wards of Gondar aire nae all encompassing ast the Guardian himself hast annouced. Ne'er in the history of the duels were they e'er so, for there hae always been some few whose physiology or magical nature didst counter them, thereby those few dinna benefit from them to varying degrees.

Ast I didst pen to Percival Marchand de Clermont, tis the information ist nae secret nor wast it so e'en unto the day the Baroness met the former Baron, nor ist it secret e'en unto this day.

Tis Nickolas, those who wouldst seek to disregard that which hast past aire oft doomed to repeat their errors. Tis those who turn a blind eye to that which is before them, casting aside that which has been wrought for weal and nae for ill, and with utter disregard for the consequences of their actions, do present for those new come unto these halls an image that I for one, do not wish to see become the future of these ancient rings.

I give you a hypothetical scenerio, though I am reluctant to deal in such hyperbole. What comes of the day when a duelist, be they common or Overlord dost set aside the wards on a whim, then dost strike down their opponent? Ast a mage and one long trained, the use of such powerful magics ast to set aside that which guards the very lives of those that do enter this ancient cavern, would nae should cause me deep concern. Wouldst have the sanctuary
of the rings negated at whim?

Most respectfully,
Jonalyn Starfare.

Shoten

Lady Drakewyn herself didst state: "Let it be known that I used my magicks to negate the power of the ward in the ring for the match between Lupton and Anon at -Anon's- request, not Luptons"

Dost now speak for Lady Drakewyn?

Stepping forth he thumbs through the papers, getting a slight idea of what has transpired here in the past couple of days. Not understanding anything of the situation at all.

The Ward of Gondar..... That's gotta be what happens...

Jackson absently moved his hand to his side where last night he was impailed.

Something strange is going on here.

He thought about last night, as he left the ring, how his wounds closed. Letting out a sigh, knowing not why any of this was happening he put down a quick reply.

To kill, Or to not be killed
That is not even a question.
Jackson

With that he walked off to try and see just what was going on, and why he was here.

>>Lady Drakewyn

Dost now claim thine powers exceed those of the Guardian? Ast to knowing the History of these ancient halls, thou art as the blind leading the blind.

Jona.<<

Actually, it seemed to me that it was you who first made this claim by jumping down her throat for the lifting of the Ward. If you think Ath has all the power, perhaps you should chastise him for the Ward being lifted. No, wait, that would ruin some of your connections, wouldn't it?

Don't waste our time, woman. Keep you high-nosed judgements to yourself.

It seems to me that the entire point of this discussion is taking on another *Let's down the Backbiter* Post. Ladies and gentleman, Jona will say and do what Jona wants. Nothing we say can stop the rash of things that pour from the simple commoners mouth. Why do we even bother arguing with her, when all she will do is laugh at you and quote from the past.

I have said many times, I respect those that were her before me, I look up to them from time to time, but they are gone. This is the present my dear Jona, not the past. Reciting things that happened before now serves no cause. Alas though my words fall on deaf ears for only now I will probably be added to the commoners list of people to insul and call decietfull, perhaps now even I may have earned her famous *Oathbreaker* title. Who knows, and who
frankly cares.

The point of this discussion was over the lowering of the Ward for a Deat Match within the confines of the Duel of Swords, not if the match was right or not. Anon and Lupton fought, Anon is dead, may his soul go to whatever god he worshiped. I care not about who dueled, only that it happened here in the Arena. THAT my dear ladies and gentleman is what this topic should be kept too. That and only That.

Thank you

>> Mayhap I should have withheld mine magics when I didst remove the blade from Elle McBride De Fortenza's hand when she sought to impale Lupton, however, had I done so, mayhap Madame Elgarette's bairns would have been left fatherless. Tis me objection be unto those who would desecrate these ancient and hallowed walls.<<

Please do not pretend to care one whit about my children. And, kindly leave this conversation to the matters at hand, and not past events that have nothing to do with the lifting of the Ward.

Well, perhaps we should discuss the children you have torn from the hands of their mothers instead. I know of enough people with plenty of proof of this.

Laughing softly, she snags the quill, pens a note, then tacks it to the corkboard.

Duc Percival Marchand de Clermont

Tis nae me way to speak in innuendo, nor do I indulge in rumor mongering. Any who know me atall know that. I am plain spoken and oft blunt, but I dinna indulge in such pettiness ast thou dost accuse. I was present, in fact, at the wedding of Luthien Tinuviel and Iain Ryan MacKenzie, Lord Tynsdale, though I must say I dinna recall yuir presence, either at the wedding nor in the arena, nor for that matter do I recall thine presence at any of the TDL
duels wherein Luthien and I were present. Further, I wast also present when Luthien didst wed Roland Sal Roa, and further, didst aid the Queen at the behest of her husband, Roland, and, with the most able and timely help of Khrysta and Xyclone, didst deliver her safely of their son, Rehn. Thee, Percival, however, seem to indulge in nothing but hyperbole, innuendo, slander and diatribe with little if any facts with which to base thine statements
upon. Now dost thou aver that I am the one who didst destroy their marriage or that their marriage was of such a nature that rumor wouldst cause a sundering? I believe that might come as a bit of a surprise to both of them.

Percival, thou claimest thine presence during two of Xenograg's reigns and that of Siera Red, however, I find very little if any evidence of thine presence. Shall I then take it that thou art less than truthful in what thee claim for tis little evidence ast I have said that thou hast first hand knowledge of the events and little of thine presence until relatively recently. Thou seemeth to have a notebook belonging to someone else, yet tis thine
name dost nae appear until verra recently. What shall I then infer with that bit of information?

Thou spoutest thine bile and innuendo ast if truth resides upon every word. Methinks thou protest overmuch, Percival, for one who has little if anything to say save that being insult and diatribe. Wast it nae thee who didst leap to the conclusion that my comments with regard to the Baroness had to do with her choice of alignment? In that thou didst show that thee tends to spout without thought. Thou hast insinuated that I am a liar, Percival
and in that thou hast overstepped thineself. Yet that thou hast done so ist nae surprise, for tis oft those of little wit and less fact that do stoop to diatribe, insult and slander. May I suggest thee hold thine tongue lest thee make of thineself a bigger buffoon than thou hast achieved to date.

Bluntly,
Jonalyn Nenshen Starfare.
