Oy, people, I have an announcement to make!
At 10 o clock Eastern time on Saturday, in the Arena, I intend to stop wearing the blue-and-black "Q" mask of mine. Of course, I'll still wear it on special occasions, like funerals, weddings, and important duels. Thank you, and if you'd like to watch the removal of my mask, I'd love to see you there!

((Author's note: The next few posts here will be story-building story posts. If your character REALLY must respond, though, let him/her.))

Quizxs walked through the portal.
Another night of losing duels, he thought. Well, maybe some new guy will fall to my Sock'em Boppers Sword and Shield.
He walked at 10 PM into the Arena, not feeling too bad after all. He dispatched some guy he'd never heard of with a 5-2 score in a quick 8 rounds.
He then took on a friend of his, Coron. He felt a tad off-track, but still tried. After two rounds, he noticed how the masked impaired him from signaling his emotions. He screwed up the second and third rounds, and to top it off, Coron kept hitting him while the ref wasn't looking! He tried a high cut, but Coron ducked it. He was about to scream, when his dog came in and eased tensions a bit.
Even Sadie couldn't save him. He took a stop hit and started to stumble. Then, a dog messed with Saders and she ran off. Quizxs watched the silly dog, ducked absentmindly, and got defeated 5 to .5.
Totally screwed up, his only hope to save face was to leave NOW. He opened a portal and came through with the dog beside him, and through a flash of light, was on his starship.
A Cadet almost opened his mouth, but Quizxs removed his mask, safely aboard, and said, "Don't even ask."
The Cadet saluted, left, and Quizxs wearily walked to his quarters, mask in hand.

Quizxs woke with a bit of a startle. It was already 6 PM, and his species only needs 6 hours of sleep a night! He wondered if any harm was done, but his mirror insisted he was ok.
He strapped on the mask, a tad worried, but overall excited about the day ahead. Smiling, beneath the mask, he walked to his wardrobe and switched his nightrobe with his second dueling outfit, the one with a dark blue cloak, a black shirt and pants, and a blue "Q" symbol on the chest.
Smiling, he put a mock-curse on his faulty alarm clock, only to see it explode. Ooookay..., he thought, hoping that the clock was gonna go off anyway.
Laughing, he said, "Well, it did work... only too late... it made a noise and would have woke me up..."
Quizxs marched merrily in the direction of the teleportation chamber, intentionally striding past the Lieutenant's Bunk Area. A Lieutenant looked over at him. "Well, Commander, it does take you forever to awaken."
"Flissenfloot*, I was tired! And my clock exploded!"
"Heh heh... well, have a nice trip."
He walked over to the teleporter, when a face appeared on the holograph-screen. "Commander!" exclaimed a commanding voice on the screen.
"Yes, ThreeStar*, what is it that is important? I want to get to RhyDin immediately!"
"RhyDin? You mean that crazy dimension you enjoy so much?" the ThreeStar laughed. "If it wasn't like you nearly own that ship, the Force* would probably ask you to do a mission."
"Well, I must be going soon. Speaking of soon, I will actually own this ship in a short matter of time."
With that, he triggered a portal at 8 PM, right outside the Arena.
*Flissenfloot: An exclamation in Intergalaxian Standard and the H'ryndan language, expressing surprise, gladness, or slight annoyance. Often used in conjunction with "Glizzensplat."
*ThreeStar: Abbreviation of the Star Protection Force rank of Three Star Commander, which is above Captain (Which is actually a two star commander), which is above Commander.
*Force: Short for Star Protection Force, a space military.

In front of all, he held the mask. All saw his face, his eyes, his color-changing hair.
But there was one thing they didn't see.
His nearsightedness.
Immediately, he blew a fight, his self-manager getting him nowhere. Tired, but pleased, he walked into a portal and out onto the streets.
((Authors Note: This is where I invite everyone there to join in. Catch me in the street afterward, or talk to me in the arena during the match. In fact, I WANT you to join in. Please do.))
