::the exact parchment that he received only hours before the challenge, left for all to see::

Lord Phoenix,

I would like to respectfully inform you that I am hereby nullifying the contract you are bound under as the result of my victory when you challenged me for Overlord. Let the rivalry between House Phoenix and myself resume, after all, it is all in the name of sport.

sincerely,
Lord Dalamar Ar'Daumon

Lord Phoenix,

I pity the fact that you clearly never understood the state of our "agreement." Since I was the one who proposed the agreement and you merely accepted, I shall tell you what I intended to say and clearly did say. If you misinterpreted the "agreement", then I apologize. You should have asked for clarification.
The loser of our past Overlord Challenge match was bound by contractual agreement to never again seek to remove the winner from the mantle of Overlord. There was nothing in it regarding the preventing of one person from taking a Baronial Ring. Perhaps you read too much into why I have ended the agreement. I owed you nothing the way the contract (which is what it really was) was layed out. Again, I am sorry you did not realize this, but this is the
way it was.
As for your clear attempt to slander me on the public boards by posting a letter that I sent to you in private, I am appalled. In the future, I request that you paraphase my words, I will not lie about saying them.

sincerely,
Lord Dalamar Ar'Daumon
