>>I dinna state that Madame Ashleana didst in fact duel 'pon the sixth day of the tenth moon, though tis recorded so in the standings lists.<<

Jona,

Your own words, "In simplest terms, I suggest thou read those standin's list. Madame Ashleana ist noted ast "dueling" 'pon the sixth day o' th' tenth moon. "

You have pointed out that "Madame Ashleana ist noted ast "dueling" 'pon the sixth day o' th' tenth moon.

If you stated the above on 11/18/98, why do you bend the statement now? "Noted as dueling" to more than myself who read it meant that you believed her to have dueled upon that day. Several people including G'nort brought up questions in reguard to this. If that was not what you meant, why did you wait until now to change it to "yet, from the standings lists one could presume she had indeed been present in Rhydin 'pon the sixth day of the tenth
moon." I really believe you meant the public placing of her letter on that date. I wouldn't dispute you on the fact that it appears from the date written upon it that she was indeed here in Rhydin, but that's not what you said, is it? You said noted as dueling upon the sixth. Let's get the story straight, shall we?

As to your tongue, Madame, the burden of proof is on the prosecution or accuser to prove guilt of the defendant or accused. Is it not? You have never held your tongue on anything before, why now?

I place a snippet of my own reply to Baron Var here on the boards, the rest of the matter being a -House- Issue and thus it should -remain- a House Issue... in my own opinion.

It's things like this that caused me to remove myself from the political arena and take up a stance of neutrality.
As for the Jade Gryphons... This is -my- team.

If it seems like I'm taking this personally... maybe I am.

Colleen,

I didst most clearly state that thou shouldst "read" the standings lists, that the "standings list" didst note Madame Ashleana ast having dueled upon the sixth day of the tenth moon. At nae time didst I state that I believed her to have dueled 'pon that day. For indeed, she hast said she wasna in Rhydin. I wast there when she wast whisked away, thou were nae, as I recall. Ast well, I wast in the dueling house 'pon the sixth
and Madame Ashleana wast nae present, therefore tis verra likely she couldna hae dueled that day. I pen what I mean, Madame, and nae what thou wouldst wish me ta. Tis vastly amusing for thou to state "I really believe you meant the public placing of her letter on that date." If that wast what I meant, Madame, rest assured that would hae been what I penned. Tis Madame Ashleana didst most clearly pen that her servant didst place her letter
afore the public.

Colleen, thee aire nae Master Brandon Fox, in fact, thou art ast far from it ast thou couldst possibly be. Twist ast thou wilt, Madame, this isna a court of law, for if it were and Madame Ashleana were indeed brought to face charges, she wouldst mayhap find that the preponderance of evidence dost nae weigh in her favor. I might note that that wouldst include but isna limited to the fact that Madame Helix Girvin herself didst place notice 'pon this
verra corkboard on the twenty-seventh day of the ninth moon, a mere nine days afore Madame Ashleana's servant didst place the letter afore the public, that there were nae anna changes being made to the rules of engagement.

Thou aire free to believe ast thou wilt. Thou art reaching for straws, Madame, and they do seem to continue to elude thine grasp. Ast to getting a story straight, Colleen, tis this ist nae some fairy tale to twist to sooth children. Tis a matter of a then warlord, now Baroness, blatantly showing disregard for the entire community. Thou remindest me most oft of a DevakSal what 'pon occasion wandered inta the basement, a female what couldna read a
map, but I digress. Thou might inquire of the Baroness ast to why she felt such ast her actions shouldst remain undisclosed? I ask thee dost condone what ist little more than cheating every single warlord what might have wished to issue challenge? Ist this the example thou wouldst set before thine daughter, Rhiannon, ast a way to gain a Barony? I, ast nae only a member of this community, but ast a mother wouldna. But then again, there are those
who do consider a Baron's ring a mere bauble, a trinket, a bit of jewelry to flaunt, neh?

Tis a gross insult to every single personage what strives to attain the pinnacle, to have it stolen from their grasp in such a manner. If thou, ast a member of this community and, unless thou hast changed thine mind and hae nae followed Madame Helix out the door, ast an official of these ancient and honorable rites, dinna hold such actions ast harming the community, tis in me opinion, a sad statement of the state of these proud and ancient walls.

Bluntly,

Jonalyn Nenshen Starfare.

Jonalyn,

As usual you bring up things that have no place here, what I teach my children, Madame, is a matter between them and me. I have not taught them to turn their backs on friends and family because they made mistakes as apparently some people have.

I do, however, wait to revel in the day when your children are old enough to read this old cork and start asking you questions about the venomous words you have written on many occassions. I wonder how you will answer them. I notice that none of them seem to have made any appearances in the dueling house even to meet people. Are you afraid of what they might be told of their mother? My own children have been there if simply for introduction. My
Rachael was nearly born there.

As to being an official of this sport, I come to assist when I am called upon. I have other duties in the arena office that do not require me to be there for the duels. Those in need have, but to ask.

A few things before I close since low blows are being driven:

Buy a translator, woman, the people of this community have spent too much money on them simply to understand your flowery writing and speech, time for a woman of wealth such as yourself to purchase one so that the common people that can't afford them can understand you.

You speak of teaching children? When was the last time Tristian was allowed to see his brothers, Blade, Lomien, and Rehn, or is he not told of them? What message is it you send to him by this action? If this causes pain to Luthien, I apologize, but the boy has rights.

I haven't seen your "darlin' husband" about of late, are you keeping the man chained up or has he left the realms, and you, again?

You are the one you stated that Madame was a polite term for a married woman, yet you persist in calling Jaycy, Madame Ashleana. Ashleana unless I am misinformed is her name given at birth. Her married name was Shadowsbane, which is borne by her three children. She is presently engaged to Verceterix Favre, as I heard from her own lips. Another case in point is Sidartha Elgarette, she practically slapped you in the face with being unmarried and
objecting to the title, but you persist. I am married and object to the title, but you persist. At what point, will you get simple things through your head? If someone asks you not to call them madame, DON'T.

You, Madame, should also note this... the rules of engagement that are place for all to see are dated 10/07/98, I have no idea what changes were made in them at that time, but that is indeed that date upon them.

I am done with ever answering you again on any issue, it's pointless to argue with one so thick headed as not to be able to read the words that they wrote themselves.

Breaking into gales of laughter, the commoner has her scribe make a true copy of Colleen's comments.

Colleen,

Lass, do ease thineself afore thou hast a case of apoplexy. Aire thee so adept at the mother tongue yet nae able to follow a simple, sequence of events presented to thee in the vernacular? Mores the pity. A personage ast well traveled ast thou hast claimed wouldst be presumed to know that the term Madame applies to married women and also unto those who aire nae longer wed. Mistress ist the polite term for an unmarried woman, however, it is used
most formally to address a woman who has ne'er been wed.

I do trust that thine other job in the arena office hast nae to do with explaining the rules of engagement to annaone. Wast it nae thee what stated thou had worked for two full turnings of the seasons, and thou statest that thou had nae idea what changes had been made in them?

Colleen, lass, so like thee, nae canst thee argue the issue, but must resort to childish insult and inquiries upon family matters that aire nae now nor ever were anna of thine business. Tis been me experience that most in the basement have nae anna trouble understanding me, an most what read this ancient corkboard hae nae anna trouble understanding me. Tis seeming thee may be in need of a translator. Do purchase one, I shall gladly pay the cost.

Rest assured, Madame Lasher, me bairns shall nae be raised to condone such ast thee seem to. Aye, Madame Lasher, tis pointless to debate with one who ist ast thick skulled and thin skinned ast thee aire. But thee ast hast Percival have, by thine omissions, cleared the matter in me mind. I do congratulate thee, for by thine stance. Tis I am sure the community will praise thee in that thou continues to condone these acts. Do put up a sign, Madame.
"If thou wouldst wish to challenge a baron, thou mayest flout the rules of engagement, hide thine perfidy, present a fair and shining countenance before the public, and Madame Colleen Lasher shall shout to the hills how right and fair and righteous thou art.....provided you are her friend."
