Lords and Ladies of the Duel of Swords,

Much-delayed as it may be, I am proud to announce the upcoming Fourth Quarter Warlord Tournament! It will take place on Friday, December 4th, and Saturday, December 5th, in the Basement Annex, beginning at 9 pm by the Eastern clock and continuing until we're done for the eve.

Participation will be limited to 32 entries, plus 10 standby positions. Entries should be sent to the DoS Supervisor (RDI Golden), and will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis. Elegibility will be based on the Standings for the week ending November 29th.

At this time, the only prize offered is an Intercession-free challenge to the Overlord.

Skill and honor to us all,

Turienal Lodrelhai Castle

::Smirks:: Of course Jake'll be there. A good reason to come to the tourney, To kick my arse. Hehe, good enough reason to come?
Have fun now... :)

Hey, is this a double elimination or single? Gotta start doing the match. Also, when is the final day we can send in the notice?

Let's put it this way Agrenish...

The longer you delay entering, the more likely you are to end up on the stand-by list... or unable to enter all-together.
Simply put, there's -alot- of WarLords now-adays.
Personally, I shall be officiating again this Tourney, as my duties to the Duchy preclude my presence on Saturday.

I wish that I could be joining you again this time, Drake. However, I shall be in the Arena each of these evenings working my little derriere off for the dueling enjoyment of those that aren't in this Tourney or observing it, either one. ::sighs deeply:: Ah well...

Have fun everyone. Mayhaps I'll be able to at least stop by to see who's kicking Jake's arse....

::smiles impishly:: Just kidding, Jake.....

Still didn't ansewer my first question... single or double elimination? And who knows, at this point, I don't think I care enough about this place to want to swipe the crown from Dal or Seam... so unless Seam wins and Dal drops off his Barons ring at the local jewery store, I don't think I'm coming in. But I'd still like to know, JiC, if it's double or single.

The githzerai stood before the corkboard for a moment looking at the official notification. He stroked his raven goatee with the slim almost talon like fingers for a few quiet thoughts. This had been only his first cycle in DoS, and even with the momentary vacation the officials took, he had become Warlord. Though having only a few duels against his peers he had yet to really test his skill in such a
contest. Many times he had read through the messages on this same corkboard about the saying;

"Any given dueler can win any given duel on any given day, but it's the legends of the rings who bacame so for being able to win with something on the line."

His cat like slitted yellow eyes narrowed even more for a moment as he focused his thoughts to his duties and the times ahead. He could easily get away for a few days to particpate in this tourney. He was the captian of the unit afterall, his soliders were well trained and disciplined enough that he did not need to ride herd on them. He had studied the DoS Histories in length from what he could gather from official postings and asking others.
This was a golden oppurtunity to step up into the heirarchy of the rings.

He had thought about what to do when he finally reached the rank of Warlord. Potentially challenging someone had been an idea, but he never could figure out who. He barely knew anyone to make it personal, and he was not about to try and take something from somebody he felt was not acting honorable. It seemed all he read about on the boards was people flinging insults to one another, usually from or to someone of titled rank. He had no desire to
take up sides or join any factions. He dealt with enough of that in his homeland and in the court of his lord. This was just a sport, a bit of R & R for warriors who wanted to keep their blade sharp but as well enjoy doing it with a comrade over a drink or two.

Indeed, he thought to himself with a thin lipped tight smile, a bit of friendly contest in a tournement would be an excellent oppurtunity to see if his skill was competitive. He had decided to try and become a prize winner in a tourney first before trying to challenge someone. Finding an official entrance slip for the Fourth Quarter Warlord's Tourney he began to fill it out. Signing it, he left it in the official's box handling the
requests.
