What are YOU thankful for?

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Duel of Swords,
Today is the day where the arena is closed, because the honorable Evermeadow thinks we should celebrate Thanksgiving with our families. I wholeheartedly agree, but as a community, maybe we can celebrate the special day as well, by just saying what we're thankful for.

Personally, I am thankful for my most beautiful wife and our four precious children.
I'm thankful to be alive so I may see the children grow, and I may spend time with my deepest love, Noelle.

Ladies and Gentlemen of DoS, what are YOU thankful for?
Simply,

Var Medici-Giovanni

I came here a wandering healer...I am thankful for the good friends I met, a place to finally call home, and life itself.

I'm thankful that my brother kept his ring, and that two of my old friends have come from my homeland to spend today with me and Magnus. It has been a while since we had guests for this day.

How about life? Aren't we thankful for life? Afterall, without life, none of these things we could be thankful for. So, I'm thankful for life.

I would like to know one thing. I am aware of Thanksgiving, as I have visited the United States of America. I must confess to being absolutely baffled why a holiday celebrating the end of a terrible war that nearly destroyed a country is celebrated here in RhyDin, a land never touched by that war.

Duc Percival Marchand de Clermont

((Author's note: In simpler terms, most of our characters would have never heard of Thanksgiving, and most of those who had would not celebrate it. I really do like this thread, but it belongs in the OOC thread. It really isn't a realistically IC idea. I also think Golden's original announcement should have been in the OOC thread too.))

I'm thankful that justice around here is swift and descisive. Never letting guilty parties get away with anything.

Percival dear.....

I think it's a bit closed of you to not think that others from differing areas of the Multiverse would want to celebrate the Holidays from their homelands that are dear to them. My dear husband, Zachary, is from Earth... and from the United States of America as well where this particular holiday is one of the most celebrated. While I knew nothing of this holiday before meeting him, I've learned much about Earth history and traditions since our
marriage. I find that I like a great deal the idea of a day set aside to remember all the grand things we all have in our lives to be thankful for.....
While it may not be a well known holiday here in RhyDin, it ~is~ one that me and mine shall continue to keep in the future.
