Pride doth return

The Keeper and Guardian of the Ward didst walk among his home again. Brantee never told the Cleric where she took his banner nor why it was taken that fated night when he was taken.

So much had passed, so much sickness, pain yet so much life and joy since the quiet days in the home beyond the hedge. It had come that the banner would once again hang in the might hall, that banner of Athlstan the Cleric.

That hiding place kept, she stole away in the light of the moon to the empty Hall and then there was proof, yes the Cleric was home, atleast for the short time.

With care she took to that ladder and then slowly that banner fell from the height and once again took it's place. With pride it hung and now added to the bottom right three golden crowns small they were each with his own bloodline etched and threaded there. Brantee stood back a bit and now all would know for the time The Cleric has returned.

With most haste she hurried from that arena and then took her place at the home beyond the hedge.

The White Duke of Clermont wandered down the stairs into the Arena. He hated the common room of the Red Dragon Inn, and he always preferred to eat in the quieter Arena. Percy was in a good mood today, having heard that Jola was safe in Wil's hands, and that Wil wasn't calling it off after all. Good news always made him happy.
He busied himself behind the bar, fixing himself several fried egg sandwiches and several boilermakers. He then went to his table, idly glancing around the Arena, taking in the banners and thinking of history.
His eyes feel upon a banner in what had previously been an empty spot. He frowned at that, trying to remember his history. He went white as he recognized the banner, finally.
"So Athlstan is back," he mused quietly. "Or at least his banner. Yet if he is back, who is guarding the Ward? What might come of an unguarded Ward?"
Another thought entered his head, and his eyes narrowed as he stroked his chin. There was something else.
"What about the curse? Does whoever replaced the banner know about it?"
