Upcoming Overlord Challenge

Announcement

On the morrow, the eleventh day of December at the stroke of the clock sounding nine pm of the eastern standard, the challenge for the position of Overlord of the Duel of Swords shall commence. The challenger, myself, Daegarth Mithmellon of House Phoenix shall undertake the venture to dethrone the current Overlord, Dalamar Ar'Daumon. The match shall be officiated by the elemental lady, Stormi. The match shall take place in the Basement Annex.

I shall be dueling under the colors of House Phoenix, a gold flaring phoenix set on a solid field of black. I shall be wielding the ever sharp and mystical, Phoenix Blade. The honorable Lyon T'gar of House Phoenix shall stand by my side as my second. The lady Calenmir Landstar as graciously agreed to stand as my Lady of Honor.

Ever wonder why so many tournament winners lose the interseccion-free challenge match to the Overlord? Bet no one knows how many prize winners have won the Overlord title. I'll give you a hint, a dwarf with three fingers on both hands can count the number of times on one hand without curling a finger. Why do they even bother?

Actually, if Tourney winners, overall, tend to lose to Overlords, Overlord overall are more likely to lose to a tourney winner than anyone else. If rumor serves, Kalamere Ar'Din, Leto of Covington, and a few other of the last several were all defeated by tourney winners. Of course, the rumors could be wrong.

If my memory of the histories is still decent, Xenograg fought through the test of Siera Redwin and then defeated Max to become Overlord.

On a side note, it would be nice if the Overlord still had the option to test the Tourney's challenger...

'Twas the overlord just prior to he who now reigns that was last to win through tournament and challenge, defeating Kalamere Ar'Din and rigning until defeated soundly by Dalamar.
