I have seen so many posts of late about this problem or that problem. People discussing, talking about, and in general arguing various valid points. In all I feel 99.9 % of this comes from people wanting to make the DoS a better, or more enjoyable place to spend time. I know that there are things that could be done better and people get on one another nerves sometimes, but this post is about some things
(Two things specifically although there are more than that) that are right about DoS. I’m not trying to insult anyone’s intelligence, because I think most of you already recognize these things. I just think that along with the problems, we should PUBLICLY acknowledge the good in DoS, as well as the annoying.

First is the wonderful jobs the RDI’S do every day. I have called many a practice duel and I think everyone should try it once. It’s an eye opener I can tell ya. And our beloved RDI’S call how many at one time???? And how many in one night??? That is why I would buy Luth, or any of the other RDI’S, a scotch at the bar. Heck they got to put up with us, they could use a stiff drink.

The second "Good" thing is a person that many of the DOS overlook, although how they do it is beyond my limited capacity to understand. I am speaking of a person that gives depth and flavor to the Arena. A person that duels very little (Not from lack of skill) but due to her love of the sport and the people attached to it, can be found most nights ringside at the arena.

I speak of the Lady Jonalyn. I would like to thank Jonalyn for adding a touch of humanity, and a sense of humor and fun to the DoS. The Rings would be a drabber place without her. She is only one of the many GOOD things about DoS.

Rad?

I take it you enjoyed the dueless Saturday? The RDIs had one day off in how long? Most people that were complaining suddenly learned what happens when no callers show up for work. It's a two way deal Rad... show some respect for those that volunteer hours upon hours to serve "YOUR" desire to duel.

There's lots about the arena that is good. But hey, like anything, you put enough opinions and personalities in a room you're gonna have conflict. But even a family argues. Eventually all is forgiven, and we go back to the reasons we started here in the first place. What ever it may be for each person.

Personally, I don't know why anyone would thank the RDIs. I mean, if I could call my own duels, I'm sure I'd win a lot more. In fact, I'd probably never lose. So in fact, the RDIs have cost me many losses. Gee, thanks RDIs. Now I know what you're really good for. Sheesh.

Everyone,

Who wants to sneak up and make random people RDI's and force them to call and make shift reports (AND all of the 501 type classes) for an entire month? Give them a free uniform and see how long they really like dueling.

Aye. I made suggestions about the W/L ranking in the thought that it was a "Constructive" Suggestion. Unfortunately due to my lack of oration skill, I am afraid that it came off like I was whining about it. So in order to let people know what I truly felt about DoS I thought I would post some of the things I find so great about it.

Take it and me for what you will, I'm a simple man no more or less, and as all men (Won't be politically correct here) I am wrong sometimes and right sometimes. But please know this of me, I always want what is right and fair, though in these uncertain times I don't see that as much as I would like.

I would like to say something good about DoS.

RDI Clo.

He's consistently enthusiastic, polite, and friendly. I think every RDI should sit behind Clo when he's calling. ((If I ran my own forum I'd do my best to steal him away. He's excellent host material))

RDI Luth.

No nonsense calling. And she gives roses to the winners.

RDI Scad.

Good diplomacy skills.

RDI Golden.

He's just an all-around good person and takes way too much attitude from people.

I think we all could stand to learn something from these people.
