I'm writing it extra big to remind the senile.
On a side note, the only person who would have any right to refer to me as a "little whelp," as you so eloquently put it, would be the only person holding a rank higher than the one that I have earned with my blade, that person being Dalamar, certainly not a skilless wretch like yourself, whose only claim to fame is being the wife of a duelist who, by some queer twist of fate, became a Baron.
That's what you wrote previously, now you write:
Noelle can have any opinion she wants about me. I, however, don't care very much about that opinion, not because of her rank, but because she doesn't know me.
Hmm, so now her rank doesn't matter. Not only that, you can only accept good opinions? Oh, no, it's because she doesn't know you. So who's the whiner? YOU may think I'm a whiner, but hey, you go ahead and cower behind false words. However, I suggest you sit on Dal's lap and ponder your reasonings more carefully.
Now for a summary of your posts..... You can dish out insults, but you can't handle criticism, as two other loyal hypocrites like yourself have proven in the past couple days.

Var,
Noelle's rank never did matter in relation to her opinion, but in relation to her skill. I said that I don't care about her opinion, because she didn't know me, then when on to state that she doesn't have a whit of dueling ability. Two different lines of thought. Perhaps you should've read over your own large writing, eh?
Your calling anyone a hypocrite just drives me into peals of laughter, as you are the one who condemns the actions of "those cowardly Loyalists" for voting to protect the Overlord, while you automatically vote against the Overlord in any debate.
As to the whining and insults, I'm not the one who seems to be crying over this. Should I leave a tissue up here for you next time, Var?
Quite Amused,
Sartan

Var and Noelle,
As usual, your verbal endeavours amuse me to no end. I am reminded every time I hear either of you dish out insults or lift your noses in the air, with that holier than thou attitude you're both so fond of, how glad I am that you finally turned your back on me.
Var, your attempts to show the inconsistancies in Sar's post sadden and astound me. The fact is, Noelle was being immature and rude, and there is nothing you can say to defend that. But, as usual, your blinders are so thick that you cannot see that. And yet your argument fails miserably, because in your endless endeavour to defend your horrendously childish wife, you resort to the same kind of tactics for which you condone Sartan.
Also, Sar has not demonstrated in any manner that he cannot handle criticism. What he has shown is that he has no intention of sitting back and being needlessly insulted by Noelle. If you wish to construe that in the way you chose to in your post, then that is just another reason for you to be deserving of my pity. After all, you are a sad little man with a sad little blade.
My suggestion to both of you (who so truly deserve each other), grow up. I for one am sick of your tireless ranting and insulting of fellow patrons, while you fail in your attempt to hide behind a veil of "honor." Now, you may not care for my suggestions, but as you have so eloquently said time and again: everybody is entitled to their opinions. And I, in contrast to the two of you, am more than ready for anything that may come
my way in return. So feel free to voice your opinions, all anything the two of you ever say does is amuse me endlessly.

Folks,
Var, if you feel that Sartan's remarks about your wife are objectionable, please take it to a ring. That is a better place to answer insults than the board anyway.
Sartan, if you feel Noelle's remarks to truly be so unimportant, ignore them. By insulting her in return you show that you consider them to be important after all. If you truly think she has taken the low road, take the high one. If you object to either her remarks or Var's enough that you must respond to them, take it to a ring, as I told Var.
I agree with Dalamar that Var and Noelle need to grow up, but I would say that Sartan needs to as well. Perhaps the three of you should speak to each other in person. You might find it is an increased aid in communication to actually use words and not a pen and ink.

Percival,
I did not gather that Sartan considered Noelle's opinions important. What I did gather is that he would not sit by wordless while someone needlessly and baselessly insulted him. I think he accurately summed up things in his response. Of course, I am not Sartan, nor would I claim to be, as I am quite a bit more dashing than he.. but I digress. The day I see Noelle standing over Sartan, victorious in her Baronial challenge, then I'll consider
her right to refer to him as a "whelp".. at any rate.. disagree, agree.. What really matters if who comes first in " X def X".

Sar doesn't like Var or Noelle, Noelle (and quite possibly Var) doesn't like Sartan. Simple fact. No one can ever be more right, or have more right ta an opinion. Both opinions exist, both are right in da minds of da respective holders. It's a fight people, its legal ta fight, perhaps not constructive, but sometimes da bad bloods needs ta flow.
Ta answer Cletus, others back Sar, perhaps because dey too dislike da Medici-Giovanni family. I do not know but it would be my best guess.
I will refrain from posting my opinions of either Var or Noelle because its not my fight. Just want everyone ta recognize dat it can be healthy ta get da bad blood out here rather dan keep it all pent up. And should any grudge match ever come from da flames here; it'll be one fun fight ta witness...gotta love grudge matches.

As for myself...
I still await either Var or Noelle's response to my letter, posted just shortly before I began my vacation.
Until I know where -they- stand in regards to -me-, all politics aside as I have put them for near since the begining of the previous cycle; I cannot, in all honesty, offer any words of defence for those who I once called friends.
I may be reached by private mail drop at the Golden Ivy, public posting upon this board... or deliver the missive to the young lady wearing my caller's jacket in the Annex on Wednesday nights... she knows how to get in contact with me..

Actually, I'll have to agree with Jeff.
Not to say I'm pro-cut down, or what have you... I think the throwing of insults between the two Barons is rather entertaining... and I don't mean that in a "look at me, I'm Roland and I'm all high on myself" amused entertaining.
If it weren't for this insults... or name calling... or challenges of one's honor or beliefs. Would you be reading this board every chance you get? Hell no. Would you be dueling your heart out, in hopes to kicking that loud mouth whoever out of a ring, no.
Point is. Without these public displays there would hardly be any reason to challenge. All of the Barons would win their rings through tournaments and have to win them through another Baron's retirement.
While I think they sometimes hurt people I consider friends, or step on my own toes... I must say... on with the insults, m'friends!

To the humble Lord,
Well Dal, I must say that you are amusing me to no end. I have stayed out for a long time... Form public opinion that is, but know that with your choice words.... you have brought me back. In your last response to grace this fine board, you showed your true self. A Pompous, self righteous, Holier than thou, I am God, bow down before me you peons, Loud mouth, misguided ruler. How might you ask? Because you clearly have no clue. To say,
"After all, you are a sad little man with a sad little blade."
is what leads me to my new founded conclusion. I mean for the love of God... Var is a Baron. A Baron.... A Warlord who has achieved 15 wins over losses. A Warlord, who has beaten ten of his peers. A warlord who challenged and won, to become a Baron. Is this the man who has a sad little blade. I think not. Yak know what... I would bet Sartan would say the same. After all Rank is what defines your skill according to him. So Var is just as skillful as
Sartan by that logic. They are both Barons. And Var has no skill.... Hmmm.... does Sartan have no skill, or any of the other Barons? Oh wait they cant have skill...... They are not the Supreme God of the Duel of swords. Now I know you to be a man who must judge skill some how else, for you would not chastise all the underlings below you in this way. That is fine.... say what you will.... But you must have forgotten to take your medication Last night,
in order to say he has no skill. Just because he opposes you, does not mean he has no skill. He has proven himself to the community by obtaining the rank he holds.
Think of this Dal.... He is a Baron. Your policy as of now says that you will not test Barons? Why is that Dal? Because you feel they are competent enough to handle themselves in the rings? it must be, because you test so many... many who don’t have skill, or would be bad rulers, in your own opinion. Yet you wont test barons. So they must have the skill..... Wait one sec... Yep Var is still a Baron... he must have the skill. For he has already
proven that by becoming a Baron.
To insult him is one thing... that I can handle.... for the better man would allow it to slip past him. Yet to attack his skills within the ring that makes us who we are, is by far the most disrespectful thing you have done of late. Var has only attempted to protect his wife. Yes she might have gotten out of hand... I will not judge on that.... Maybe Sartan had the right to attack back. But You better believe if someone attacks the one I love, I
will fight back with words, fists, whatever it takes. It only shows his love. Wouldn't you do the same for Sid? Even if she misspoke to someone, pissing him off. Then that man attacks her? What would you do Lord? Would you let this person belittle your wife? Naw... you would attempt to slash their throat and make them pay for there insults. Well Var is doing just that. Only he tries to do it peacefully with words. Perhaps his love is stronger. But I
don’t think so... you would do the same. So attack him if you will, I have no problem with that, as I agree with Roland. State your opinions. But do not... I repeat do not, attack a Barons skill. You only make yourself out to look bad.
Respectfully yours,

Avery,
Thank you for honoring us with a display of your continued inability to master even the basics of writing. The best made arguments have a clear and logical flow to them, Avery. I suggest you make an effort to learn the specifics of proper paper writing at some point in your life. Now, allow me to address certain points of your argument.
<<you have brought me back. In your last response to grace this fine board, you showed your true self. A Pompous, self righteous, Holier than thou, I am God, bow down before me you peons, Loud mouth, misguided ruler. How might you ask? Because you clearly have no clue. To say,
"After all, you are a sad little man with a sad little blade.">>
Now, seeing as how you based the above value judgement on this statement, I will base my return statement solely on that statement I made. Yes, I suppose "pompous" is a possible idea to draw from that; and I shall even grant that "loud-mouth" could easily apply to me based on the statement. Now as for the rest of your statements, do feel free to show me how that quote proves any of those things about me. If you are
simply spouting out further insults, which is truly your right, then feel free to continue. But do not attempt to justify your hatred of me to the public by citing a quote that has not relevance to the comments you are making. It only makes you look even less intelligent than before.
<< Var is a Baron. A Baron.... A Warlord who has achieved 15 wins over losses. A Warlord, who has beaten ten of his peers. A warlord who challenged and won, to become a Baron. Is this the man who has a sad little blade.>>
As usual, your ability to make inaccurate judgements about the point of my statement is astounding, Avery. If you think my comment was intended to state that Var has no skill in the objective "rank" sense of the word that everybody seems to wish to go by, then you are wrong. He is most definitely a Baron and therefore a man of proven skill, to a large extent, in our community. Perhaps you would be better served to construe my
comment in a more "subjective" and "personal" manner, since that it how it was intended. Also, on that note, in the future I suggest you find out what people mean by their statements before you attempt to argue against them. Yet again, failure to do so simply makes you look less intelligent.
<<Think of this Dal.... He is a Baron. Your policy as of now says that you will not test Barons? Why is that Dal? Because you feel they are competent enough to handle themselves in the rings? it must be, >>
And yet again you make assumptions about things that I have said. Again, I suggest you research the reason I originally made that statement about not testing Barons. I assure you, it had nothing to do with "higher skill." Obviously you missed the discussion concerning this subject on the boards, and if somebody has not enlightened you yet, the matter concerning testing Barons was a personal agreement between Kalamere and
myself made for a goal of mutual interest and benefit at the time.
<<Yet to attack his skills within the ring that makes us who we are, is by far the most disrespectful thing you have done of late.>>
Perhaps "skill within the ring" is what makes you who you are, Avery. But thankfully I have things in life that are more important to me, and traits that I value above my ability to wield a blade. Do not presume you speak for all of us when you insist that we are defined by our skill with the blade. While it may very well be the best way to settle problems and arguments in this place, it never has been nor ever will be my
defining trait. And Frankly, I pity you if you consider it to be yours.
<<Respectfully yours,>>
In the future, when you sign a post with "respectfully yours," I suggest you make certain the post is "respectful." Yet, as we saw with that string of baseless insults in the beginning, there was nothing "respectful" about your post. Therefore, you are simply a base liar trying to save face by signing your post like this. I assure you, I shall not make the same error, because I have no respect for you Avery. Any modicum of respect I have ever
have has been disintegrated over time. I am sure you have similar feelings about me, and I am more than accepting of that. I am also perfectly accepting of your need to insult me, it is your right after all, but do not attempt to justify your attacks with quotes that are not pertinent or with face-saving signatures. It makes me sick to the stomach. Lastly, I apologize if I have misinterpreted anything you said. After all, it is terribly difficult to
respond accurately to a post that was as poorly formatted and written as yours was.

Avery,
Thank you for honoring us with a display of your continued inability to master even the basics of writing.

Christopher the messenger walks to the boards, his fury unchecked after reading the latest of the postings....
Dal,
It is commonley known that Mr Blade, my friend, and boss, does not know how to read or write. I handle all of his writing manners. I, the person you insult with your words, am a 12 year old boy. Mr Blade has made this known as well. So go ahead and mock me sir. Mock a kid who has nothing to do with any of this, But know that Mr Blade did not write such an article to you. He only spoke what he felt, and i translated as much as i could. Why does he use
me? Simple like him i am an orphan. He has pulled me from that horrible life to take care of me as his own. I only try and repay the thanks to him. So now Sir... please direct your comments to me, and not him. He was far to busy trying to survive in the world rather than live the life of luxury. So he never could read. As far as i see you understood his opinion. And expect to see more. And tkae your own advice, and do some research next time.

Young sir,
In light of this recent information, allow me to most humbly retract the portion of my letter that was directed at, what I wrongly believed to be, Avery's writing. The irony of the situation involving research is not lost on me, I assure you. As for the rest of my letter, I still await any possible response your "friend and boss" might have.
regretfully,
