Alkron and Celyn. Bound together now, somehow, in some way, beyond her understanding. He had returned, and together they fanned the smoldering ember of love they held in their hearts, until it became the roaring fire that it is now.
They were together most times. And when they weren't physically together, they kept up their mental contact. His thoughts became hers, and hers became his. She felt his emotions, and he, though lacking her special empathic abilities, felt hers to an extent. They kept almost nothing from each other, and certainly nothing on purpose. There were some things that were so painful, or troublesome, that each avoided within each other. Someday they would
deal with those. But for now, it wasn't important.
As Celyn stood looking at the sword on the wall in the arena, her heart felt alive. Others in the room may have been watching, she didn't know or care. She knew Alkron was, and he was wondering what she was up to.
She had removed an emerald green scarf from around her waist. Now, she began to braid it around the hilt of the golden sword on the wall, the one that belonged to Alkron. She braided and tied it, and then brushed the ends to dangle. After stepping back to view it, she lifted her hands, just a quaint habit and not really necessary for her magic, and linked the scarf with the sword, so that only Alkron would be able to remove the scarf. Now things
were as they should be, a symbol of their bonding was on the wall, for all to see.
Most wouldn't care about her, she was all but forgotten. But Alkron...he was remembered. And she belongs to him.
She had almost reached Alkron again when words touched her ears, a suggestion to ward the sword against theft. She turned again, to the golden sword. She lifted her hand as she gathered her strength. It would take much to do this, but she would and could.
She called on the elements to touch the iron brackets holding the sword to the wall. She pulled and twisted the iron so that it wound around the sword tightly, pulling the sword closer to the wall. As a final lock, she set the ward so that only she or Alkron would be able to remove the sword from it's place on the wall.
She lowered her hand wearily and returned to Alkron. >>It is done. << she sent to him. Alkron nodded and returned the thought << It will come down when the time is right. >> She needed to rest, her energy taken by the intensity of the magic. Alkron gifted her with some of his strength and wrapped his strong arms around her. Alkron closed his eyes and together they vanished from the arena.
