Lords and Ladies of RhyDin

On this eve, the 12th of January, I did have the Honor and Privilege to witness the Challenge for the Fourth Baronial Ring.
The Baroness Morgan le Fay du Cornwall met with the Warlord Duc Percival Marchand de Clermont on the field of Honor.
This was the Baron's first defense of the fourth ring.
The Baroness dueled under the colors of Silver on Black, which are the colors of the Country of Cornwall and bore the Standard of the Pendragon, King Arthur -- a red dragon upon a black flag.
Her Second was her good friend, Jonalyn Nenshen Starfare.
She dueled with her Rapier, BaenSidhe, for the Honor of Mojo Goblin, and for Avalon, and for that of her son, Ryan.
The Warlord wore the azure and sable of the Marchand family, and dueled under the banner of the Sleeping Lion of Clermont, a sable lion couchant upon field azure. He was Seconded by The honourable Warlady Jola Feren Savage. He dueled with his family sword, Rhindon, which every Duc de Clermont has carried for 4 generations, for the honor of the lovely Lady Sarana, the Arena.... and his family.

The duels went as follows:

Ring of Tyche.... Round One.....
Flashing and dashing, both Morgan and Percy dash forward....
Blades collide high, however... no points in the aggressive first round
(HC/HC)
Score round one... Morgan -- 0... Percy -- 0

Ring of Tyche.... Round Two....
Keeping with the aggressive tactics, Percy comes in low for the grandest of cuts...
But, anticipating the double cut, Morgan hits hard and fast right over it ....
Her thrust plunging to the heart of the matter...
(TH/LC)
Score Round Two... Morgan --- 1.... Percy -- 0

Ring of Tyche.... Round Three....
In a sudden reversal of blades and tactics, The Baroness steps lightly and delicately to the side....
While The warlord drops to the sand of the ring, rolling to the other side
in a truly exquisite duck...
(FSS/FDU)
No points...
Score Round Three.. Morgan -- 1... Percy -- 0

Ring of Tyche... Round Four....
Quick as can be, Percival darts forth... expecting a parry, he slashes across Morgans chest.
Morgan, seeing the move coming, calls forth a superior low cut,
cutting the slash ta ribbons..
(LC/SL)
Score Round four.... Morgan -- 2... Percy -- 0

Ring of Tyche.... Round Five....
Showing the trained reflexes of a skilled duelist, Percival comes in High once again....
But The Baronesses showing a greater skill this evening. She intercepts the Cut, Thrusting once again past it....
(TH/HC)
Score Round Five.... Morgan -- 3.... Percy -- 0

Ring of Tyche.... Round Six....
BaenSidhe come in low....
knocking Percival's thrust to the sands with a deft Low Parry...
(FCP/ TH)
Score Round Four.... Morgan -- 4... Percy -- 0

RDI Khrys: Ring of Tyche.... Round Seven.....
Percival and Morgan dance slowly and surely about each other in the ring
Morgan moves in quickly.... Percival the same....
But, alas... Percy.... Morgans Low Cut still bests a lateral parry
Even a fancy one at that
(LC/FLP)
Score... Morgan --- 5..... Percy --- 0 in Seven Rounds

After a grand defense, The Baroness Morgan le Fay du Cornwall doth retain the right to wear the Fourth Baronial Ring.....

This I did witness.....

The commoner laughed gaily as she perused the notice. Snagging the quill from its ribbon, she penned a short note.

Khrysta, lass

T'was that wee goblin nae doubt distracting thee.

Morgan,

Baroness, t'was an honor an' a privilege t' stand ast thine second. T'was most assuredly a grand defense, well won.

Thine friend, Jona.

PS: Seamus, the Widows and Orphan's Fund hast been presented with thine gift.
PPS: Nova Red Arrow, thee may collect thine winnings from Marcus.
PPPS: Mojo, the serving kids were last seen dripping wet, pouting about soaked T-Shirts.
PPPPS: When last seen, Al was squirreling away some rather unusual items found strewn
about and Hubie was muttering about goblin juju while mopping up.

Khrys, thank you for officiating the match. It was an honor, as always.

Jonalyn, I thank you for standing with me as my second. We have been friends for many years. Your loyalty to those you hold close is unparalleled and I am honored by your regard and conviction.

Mojo, my dear sweet lil goblin, you always bring a smile to my face. Thank you for reminding me to play once in awhile.

Seamus, your support of me was humbling. You have shown me that politics do not have to affect friendships, and your constant grace toward me, even when I am at my worst, has not gone unnoticed.

Percival, thank you for the duel. I understood your intent behind the challenge. I can ask for nothing more than honesty and standing by one's principles -- you have done so.

Thank you to everyone who was so gracious and congratulatory even those whose money and support was on my opponent. I was honored.
