Cletus,
If you wanted to know my reason for challenging, all you had to do was ask. However, since you did not and chose to allude to how low your opinion of me is, I shall not inform you now on this board.
Honestly, I would prefer to not directly come out and say my reason for challenging until I feel the time is appropriate. But I am quite sure if you asked around, you would learn the reason.
Finally, to be blunt, I really do not care about your opinion of me. After all, if it is merely based on the way I presented challenge, then it is an ill-informed and narrow-minded opinion of someone you obviously do not know.
So think of me what you will. It will not bother me one way or the other. Good day.

The commoner pauses, perusing Rix's announcement, a sadness in her sea blue eyes, a nod of understanding, she pens nothing, her sea blue eyes misting as she steps away from the cork.

Rix,
Did I say my opinion of you was low...no, I don't think I did. I have never even seen you before. What I find low was the fact that I was not given a reason for this challenge, and with that, you showed no respect to me, or the title I wear. Why should I have to ask around to learn the reason? Shouldn't you have had the slightest bit of respect, and told me when you issued your challenge?
Anyway Warlord, what's done is done. It really doesn't matter to me why you challenged. I just thought respect could have been shown as I have done nothing to you.

Cletus,
I have never known a man as respectful, upright, and honorable as Verceterix Gavin Favre. He is not only a model to the community, but an exemplerary symbol of what we should see in our leading ranks. His reasoning for challenge is obvious to those of us who've been dueling for any length of time. Your own newness to the sport is obvious.
Long live Icebreaker.

Ooo, look it! A circus. If this challenge doesn't take the cake...
Good luck in even being able to show up, Rix. Unless I feign sickness and sneak out of Luth's reach long enough to watch or you find fault with the given time, I won't be able to make it. Which saddens me.
Don't break a leg on those tables. Though, should one break and cause damage to you, I will personally handle the insurance cost as well as the law suit against responsible parties. Being's how the hall is ward-less, good luck in that regard.
Cletus, nice paticulars, I can't wait to see what you will pull out of your hat for seconds and ladies of honor, not to meantion colors!
Good fortunes to both, may the best enterta...ah duelist win.

With a small shake of her head, two notes appeared on the boards.
Roland,
You couldn't have said it better.
-= Jaycy
Rix,
Unfortunately, should the time not change, I will be unable to attend as well. Like Roland, this saddens me, as I was looking forward to being there to cheer you on.
Please, be careful... I don't wanna see you hurt on those tables, or the "stairs", or the floor.
Skill and honor, Rix, and may you leave the ring a Baron. Kick his arse.
Love,
Jaycy
She had begun a note to Cletus, but after some thought, the ghostly gypsy shook her head and wrote nothing to the Baron, fading from view, murmuring "Now is the time."

Cletus,
Will you also decide who will be Rix's second and honor?
Perhaps you could decide his colors, weapons, and dueling style as well.

Baron Cletus
Prithee, hast set this match for the morning of the seventeenth day or for the evening? T'would wish nae ta miss this challenge, ta' be sure.
Tis been indeed a long while since the Great Hall hast been the venue for a challenge match. Twas in that verra hall wherein the Original Nine didst come to be.
I do trust thou wilt be timely in announcing anna change in venue, since thee seems nae ast yet to have secured the hall. Ast to the Wards of Gondar, tis the magic dost extend unto anna official ring, by the grace of the Guardian's blessing and the strength of the old one who now bears the burden of the Wards, though tis ast aire, nae knowing if such magics canst protect and succor those mayhap that take injury shouldst the construction prove
faulty.
Prithee, Cletus, hast made arrangements for those of tall stature to occupy the lower steps, or shall those of us who aire nae so tall, find seats upon the shoulders of others, or peep through their legs to catch glimpses of the match? Now there be a thought, perhaps thee might request of the gentleman that they offer shoulders or wear kilts.
Roland, shouldst the warlord indeed suffer injury, Westridge shall willingly add from the privy purse a like sum to the fund shouldst a suit be pressed for damages.

Morgan,
Why are you criticizing Cletus? He has chosen a date, time, and place, which is within his rights. Granted, he added a suggestion, due to the hall lacking a ring, so the match can be handled.
I don't think I have heard Rix object, but I don't know if he's read the details yet. If Cletus ignored the fact that it's not a good time for Rix, then it would be something else. I think Cletus is reasonable, and would change the time if it is a bad time for the opponent. That's what I think, at least.

I'm just mad because Cletus didn't ask me if I could make it. I mean, what good is challenge match without someone hollaring for blood?
And Jona, my shoulder hurts and I refuse to wear a kilt in public! I'll just have to bring Rix's really, really big chair to the match, if the schedule permits.

::Cletus comes opon the few messages already posted and laughs. Seeing this is going as he would hope, he pens a note to clear a few things up::
Jonalyn,
The match is set for the evening of the 17th day. My sorries for not making that clear. The steps I speak of are just a small staircase, no higher than 3 feet. I only make them becuase the ring that we fight on will be raised a little more than 3 and 1/2 feet in the air. There will be no need to stand on one's shoulders to watch the match. I must also thank you Jonalyn, for you were my inspiration in choosing the venue for the match, and rest
assured, as soon as I receive word that I will not be allowed to hold the match there, I will notify everyone.
Ah Morgan, why would I do something like that?? It would take all the fun out of it if there were two of me up there. Besides, I dress bad enough as it is, there is no reason for anyone to look like me. I will leave for now with this: I have my reasons for this, just as you had your reasons for asking Dalamar to step in on our match, and, after I have spoken to the Warlord further, I will tell everyone why I have chosen to do this my way.
