Please take no offense to this, as none is intended. But what are you talking about?
The posts I've seen haven't mocked his brain or thinking in anyway. The only one that I see that could be taken as insult is Morgan's and that is only because she assumed Rix had yet to agree with the time and date.
Now, as regards to the situation. What situation? The match is set up like this because Cletus wants it. Not because the situation was bad previously. Granted, the tables is a crafty idea and I agree with holding the duel in the Hall, but isn't it the same as clearing off an open area? I'm not sure how they did it in past, when there was dueling in the Hall, but I know they didn't line up tables and duel atop of them.
Of course, any table that is able to support Rix's weight alone shouldn't be classified as a table. More of a small island.

I just want to point something out...
Doesn't our Overlord like to defend his title at the battlefield? How is choosing that alternative venue different than this?
1. Cletus is showing bravery, I would think...yes. it is dangerous for Rix...it's also dangerous for Cletus. if you take a good look at him...he has to weigh between 180 and 200 lbs.
And he will be just as affected by lack of Wards as Rix will.
2. He's doing something out of the ordinary....what's bad about that? He's returning the venue to a place of tradition, and he's showing us something different.
I for one, look forward to this.

Changing the surroundings of a duel or the surface one duels on is similiar to painting your house a different color to make it better or exciting. You can duel on an island or in a hall, but your still going to get the same basic thing.
