It's rare that I speak out against you. You know it, and I know it. I try to keep an even face when it comes to the grudge you bear against Drake.
You're pushing it, hon. You really are. I am getting tired of seeing youattack her simply because you're bitter about something you think, and I -stress- think, she's done, or hasn't done, or said, or hasn't said.
Fact of the matter is, Whether Xenograg did offer Iain Mackenzie the right to choose the official, it has in fact become tradition after that. As far back as I can remember, I saw challengers selecting the official. Only with Dalamar choosing Alais in recent time has the Tradition been laxed.
On to the issue of Grandstanding. I find your accusations weak, my friend. Truly, Drakewyn is no more Grandstanding that You are.
As politely as I can, I request you leave your grudge in the past. If you don't like Drake, that's fine. Avoid her like you would a bad piece of meat, otherwise your attacks on her appear like nothing other than petty.

Why is this? There is no rule about who should call. In past duels, not only the "best" officials have called.
This would be unfair to new callers that no one may have heard about. They are deprived just because they have not had a chance to prove themselves.
Oh, and what makes an official the "best?" The ones that have been around longer? The ones who never make a mistake?
Everyone makes mistakes, and maybe Stormcrow can not handle as many duels as he calls. I believe, strongly, that he could call a challenge match well, for it is only one match. You seem to get on his case for calling a round in a duel wrong, but he probably called a lot right too.

The best callers are chosen because of their dedication and overall contributions to the Duel of Swords and the patrons.
It is really the only true award an office can recieve. So it is not taken lightly when someone is just chosen on a whim simply because he is a 'good guy'.
I respect Stormcrow for keeping at it. And I hope he does remain at it, learn how to handle errors, and become a fine caller. But his time for reward is not here yet, as he still has a lot to learn.
