Friends and Patrons of the Duel of Swords,

First, allow me to thank the Warlord for his most flattering and well-written letter. It was very kind and truly appreciated.
I, Dalamar Ar'Daumon, do hereby accept the challenge issued by Warlord Lord Eros Hunrai Marzanhe DeBurgo. The match will take place Friday the 29th day of this month at nine in the evening by the eastern reckoning of time, and it will be held in the Basement Annex of the Dueling Arena in the Red Dragon Inn. The honorable Lady Alais 'd Nitesong Sidhe has agreed to officiate the affair for us.
As always, I shall be dueling under the silver and black of the Oldest House; I shall wield Vengeance: The Blade Half in Shadow. My second for this match will be the honorable Baroness Morgan le Fay du Cornwall, and I shall duel for the honor of the beautiful Lady Sidartha Elgarette. Until then, Warlord.

sincerely,
Lord Dalamar Ar'Daumon

::posts up his message written in neat black ink::

Well, Overlord Dalamar, We never had the pleasure of knowing each other...in fact I know your name only by reading the histories and of the uncountable legends of you amongst the Duel of Swords' patrons. I'm sorry that we didn't have the opportunity of becoming friends. I wish you luck on the 29th day of this first month.

Now to Marzan. Marzan you and I have dueled numerous times and we each respect each for our skill. We both have been up and then down again, only to rise to the top once more. I hope, with all that I am, that you beat Overlord Dalamar in your match. May your blade ring true and quick. Good luck.

::smiles satisfied at his letter::

Dal, will you choose Eros' second, Lady of Honor, his colors, and what weapon he will duel with?
Don't you realize how rude you are by choosing the official?
Yes, I am being sarcastic. I just found it amusing that though Morgan thinks it's so rude for people to choose the caller, date, and place, yet stands as the second to this "rude" challenge.

Duel well, you two, but Eros, I hope the crown adorns your head following the match.

Var~

Was it necessary to start a flame war? We all know how you feel about Morgan, but did you have to use this as a reason to pound that fact into the ground?

Taking note to Var's words, he considers, then pens.

Var,

I take it then you will allow Drakewyn to choose the caller of her choice?

Actually, G, no. I'm not the one proclaiming how wrong it is to allow the challenged to choose the caller.

I just found it amusing how Cletus had such words thrown at him when he made the arrangements.

::Sighs regretfully, wishing she could be in attendance::

I suppose there's no hope of you postponing it until after my shift at 11:00 PM, is there?

Ah well.... I suppose not. May you both duel well and with the Honor you each hold close to your hearts.

Dalamar, while I consider you a friend and hold you in the highest respect, I feel that in this case I should support Eros. ::chuckles lightly:: After all, his Lady of Honor might take it amiss if one of her generals were to cheer against him. Just teasing Topaz....

Oh yeah, and the fact that she also said that me choosing the caller was rude. I forgot to add that.

Baron Var Medici-Giovanni

The Warlord Eros Hunrai Marzanhe DeBurgo hast issued a forthright and honorable challenge. In truth, ast I hae stated unto the warlord, a challenge unto the Overlord would mayhap be more seemly if fought within the traditional halls, for tis that the warlord dost seek unto himself to bear the title of Supreme Duelist and Overlord of Swords. Tis other disturbing matters that I do ponder, yet I hae given me word to nae bring them forth until after
the challenge. I would be verra much surprised if the Warlord took umbrage at the Overlord's choice of venue and official, and would take it as a personnal offense were anna to cast aspersions upon the Lady Alais d' Nitesong Sidhe.

People, excuse me for putting in my two cents, but....
What Var said was uncalled for, but does everyone have to flame him to remind him?
Like the old saying, "who's more foolish, the fool, or the fool who follows?"

Huma,

Interestin' analogy, however we weren't followin' da fool, we were givin' him a swift kick in da arse. Kinda different isn't it?

:::shakes his head in disgust::: Eros went out of his way to make this a peaceful and respectful challenge....I really was looking forward to no venom. But...you Var...had to make it such. You threw the first stone, so to speak. Have you ever considered that Dalamar and Eros might have *gasp* mutally decided on a caller in private? By the way, I'm glad you're exercising Baron's rights in your match against Drake.....cause odds are you won't be
leaving that match as a Baron.

Dal...I respect ya..specially after the humbling you gave me this week. But Eros...may victory kiss your blade

Funny, Cassius. If you feel so strongly on such, I thought you might say the same thing to Morgan, who threw similar words to Cletus.

I have no problem if Dal chose the caller himself. That was never my problem. It was either that or someone thinks that I read Dal's choosing a caller as an insult. What I didn't appreciate was the attacking of Cletus for choosing the caller and the backing of Dal when he did the exact same thing.
But I suppose that's how things run around here. I voiced how I see things, and I am going to quiet again, voicing my opinion when I see something I want to speak about. It most likely won't be in this thread, for I've already stated what I noticed with sarcasm, and clarified the apparent misunderstandings.
But to restate what I said before: duel well, Dal and Marzan.
Simply,

Apparently, Var, you have doubly reset precedent, so who am I to argue again? Is that not what you wanted? For the challenged to make all the decisions? Tradition is cast aside more than once and there is little one voice, such as mine, can do to stop it.

The druid Warlord, Marzan, is most respectful, an exceptional duelist, and one I am proud to call friend; however, and I mean no disrespect to the druid, I am proud to stand next to my Overlord and my blade is his to use as he sees fit.

Now then, Var, if you are through trying to distract everyone from the matter at hand, let us move on. You do not really want me to make the focus all about your own hypocritical behavior, do you?

I am greatly disappointed, as Marzan put forth a great challenge, but the fights have already broke out. For once, can we just all accept the fact that this will be a friendly duel for Overlordship, and not start bashing each others heads in.
