Ladies and Gentlemen of the Duel of Swords, it was my distinct honor to witness the challenge of Galin Taelca against G'nort Espelande G'neesmacher Dragoon-Talanador for the Ninth Baronial Ring.

Baron G'nort Espelande G'neesmacher Dragoon-Talanador dueled under his House Colors of Dark Blue and Shadowed Grey, and with his Rapier, PenPen. The honorable Lady Drakewyn Alabaster Silvertree stood as his second. He duels for the honor of Ariana Dragoon as well as for his son Locke Cyan.

Challenging the Baron, Warlord Galin Taelca dueled beneath his colors of turquoise and silver with a small golden embroidered patch, the colors of the House of Oor~Tael from his home city of Estark, wielding his blade Disrupter. Standing as his second was his good friend, the honorable Sir Cletus Ganderfald. He dueled not for the honor of a lady but instead for the honor of his house and his mentor Hadin gar Kan.

Having asked and received confirmation from the Warlord and Baron that the challenge was to be pressed and accepted, both duelists entered the Ring of Valor and the duel proceeded.

Ring of Valor: Round 1, The duel began slowly as both the Baron and the Warlord burn a fancy as a sacrifice to the dueling gods. The Baron a Fancy Circular Parry the Warlord a Fancy Lateral Parry.

Ring of Valor: Round 2, Seeing the double goose egg on the board G'nort figured to change it. G'nort Thrusts in to find Galin's perfect Stop Hit steal the point. 1-0 Galin

Ring of Valor: Round 3, G'nort circled left holding PenPen toward Galin... Galin circled with him holding Disrupter at arms length. In a flash, both combatants swung hard to strike. Both do Strike as the Baron goes Low and the Warlord goes High. G'nort gets on the board but Galin still leads the Baron 2-1 after 3 rounds.

Ring of Valor: Round 4, Galin begins to circle followed by G'nort. Both opponents watching for the others move. Seeing a flinch Galin Ducked Fancily just as G'nort's High Cut splits the air above him. Galin grabs another point and now leads 3-1 after 4 rounds.

Ring of Valor: Round 5, Galin fresh from gaining a point from his fancy duck sees G'nort charge and throws up a Stop Hit believing he sees a thrust coming from the Baron. Instead, the Baron finishes the triple cut and blows the Stop Hit to bits with a powerful Low Cut. A point to the Baron except the Warlord still leads 3-2 after 5 rounds.

Ring of Valor: Round 6, Galin found his legs again as the Baron allows him a moment. The Warlord swings High and connects as G'nort tries to step away fancily. A point to the Warlord and aspirin to the Baron. Galin extends his lead 4-2 after 6 rounds.

Ring of Valor: Round 7, you can't become a Baron without having some smarts and G'nort learned fast as he sees Galin try to Fancy Step away and blasts the Warlord's legs out from under him with a Low Cut. The Baron closes the gap but the Warlord still leads 4-3 after 7 rounds.

Ring of Valor: Round 8, Galin moved cautiously as did G'nort, both duelists understanding the position each holds in this duel. Galin makes the first move, moving low, G'nort sees him go and responds defensively. G'nort pulls a Fancy Circle Parry only to watch the Warlord Fancy Duck beneath it for the point, the win and the right to wear the Ninth Baronial Ring.

After the challenge and accepting the ring from the former Baron, Galin announced that he would be renegade to the crown.

Well won, Galin. While I'm not so glad you chose to allign yourself with your peers, I can hardly find fault in it. Nor can I not give you praise for a damn fine match.

I would like to thank first off Gnort for his gracious sportsmanship and skillful dueling. He is, in my opinion, one of the best to wield a blade today in the DoS. I only hope that I may wear the ring with as much honor and skill as he did. Secondly, I'd like to thank Dillion Nevada for the wonderful calling. Finally, I would like to thank all who came to watch and cheer. You truly made it an unforgetable experience.
