Results of the Challenge for the First Baronial Ring

This evening, I, Jaycynda Ashleana, did have the honor and privledge of officiating the match between the Baron Seamus MacDonnaugh and Warlord Cristian de Oro, for the right to bear the First Baronial Ring of the Duel of Swords.

This eve Cristian dueled alone, and had no Lady of Honor, but fought under the flag of Brasil.

Seamus dueled under the colors of Burgandy, Tan, and Forest Green. His Second this eve was Gnort Espelande G'neesmacher Dragoon-Talanador. His Lady of Honor was the lovely Ariana Dragoon, wearing a black velvet dress slit up the side, the Pink Boxers visible, her hair piled up with ringlets in a diamond clip, and a gold locket. Seamus dueled with a Scottish Longsword this eve.

The match was as follows.

Round One:
Both seem to not be prepared for opening offense, and decide to test the waters cautiously. Cristian, sure of his movements, spins away, and strikes out for the counter. His fancy sidestep puts him in perfect position to do so, as Seamus' fancy circular parry is mistimed.

Round Two:
With a swift slice, the longsword sweeps out, moving fast toward the Warlord's legs. However, Cristian proves faster still, with his machetes, and scores first.

Round Three:
Seamus, perhaps in caution, drops lower, seeking his chance to move in, and score. Cristian has little desire to allow that, however, and moves to prevent an attack. However, Seamus' fancily performed duck will do him little harm.

Round Four:
It is with caution these two begin to move in, each looking for the chance to strike. And so they each strike out, hoping to catch the other unaware. While they manage to both deal hits to the other, neither escapes unscathed.

Round Five:
Desperate times call for desperate measures, sometimes. The Baron, perhaps knowing how far behind he is, feels this is one of those times. And it pays off, as his slash bites deep into the fancy ducking Warlord.

Round Six:
One good hit deserves another, so they say. With a fluid grace, Cristian moves in, once more on the attack. Seamus stands ready for anything.... almost. Sadly, his stop hit proves the wrong sort of defense for Cristian's low cut.

Four to Two, Cristian

Round Seven:
There comes a time in every challenge match, that one must be declared a winner, and one a loser. However, in this match, between two honorable men, I see no loser. Seamus has had a long, and honorable reign, and again, soon, we will surely see him on Council. However, this night is Cristian's, as his high cut strikes the stepping Baron.

Cristian do Oro proved successful this night in his challenge for the First Baronial Ring, by a score of Five to Two in Seven Rounds.

The new Baron has requested the Overlord choose his alignment, and it shall be decided within the week.

My congratulations to both Cristian and Seamus for an honorable and well-fought battle, and my thanks for the honor of officiating it.
