I do have it in me. Unlike you and so many others, I have just been respectable enough not to whine on the boards until now, when I just grew tired of it.

I also don't see a denial that what I spoke was true.

I couldn't care less that you left my House, Var. Frankly, it's much better off without it. And I'm sure that just breaks your heart.::entering sarcasm here:: As for defending Drake. Yes, I am, because she's my friend and she has been very wrongly accused of things. Why do I continue?
Because you don't care that she was wrongly accused, you just hear that Jona said something and you are brainwashed and convinced that she is always right. After all, I've never heard you think that she was wrong in any instance.

Feel free to rebut.

Var~~

No.... Jona didn't call for Karen's resignation based on her filling in for Drake, nor did I say that she did.... That wasn't what my note was about... My note was about how it seems that everyone else is jumping on the bandwagon of *Karen and/or Drake bashing* .... And about how I feel about that.....

Well, G, how in the world can you challenge on vacation? You just leave your vacation for a challenge match and then go on back after winning the ring. What is that? I might as well set forth a challenge. I don't see the logic in that. Let's just make this one of letters of intent. Eh? Like that thought? I sure do. After all, i've been looking for a
reason to challenge for a long time. Let's do what she did to Var. Until I get a reason that changes my mind, i'm going to challenge her next cycle. One more thing to point out, how does she write posts when she's on vacation? She suddenly gets tired of the vacation, strolls up to the boards, writes something and then goes all the way back to.. a boring vacation? No, I still don't see anything right there. Until someone clarifies the situation that
'running from a vacation from who know's where - taking a ring, and running back to the who know's where again.

Please tell me and don't give me any crap about me not being a good enough duelist to defeat her. I can beat any of you anytime and at any place. So can any of you do the same to me. Thank you, and good luck with the clarification.

Jake dear~~~

Perhaps the word *vacaton* is a bit misleading in this case. Drake is on Leave of Absence from her official duties in the DoS. She asked for her leave to take time to be with her family during the birth of her child, and for a period of recovery as well after the delivery. She is still presently in RhyDin.... not off someplace away from the realm.

This retort penned by you has left the bats rolling their blind eyes.

You don't see a denial because your words are so amazingly bland I needed to spice it up with the fertilizer pouring from your other words.

> I do have it in me. Unlike you and so many others, I have just been

Sort of like the snide remark you made when Noelle and I spoke up against Jaycy's actions with her ring? That sounds like whining to me.

>Yes, I am, because she's my friend and she has been very wrongly accused of
>things. Why do I continue?
> Because you don't care that she was wrongly accused, you just hear that

You're either blind, or disgracefully dense, G. I was annoyed at Drake fleeing to the wings of vacation after winning the ring. Where did I mention about her yapping about Eros' challenge or not?
What the heck, I'll toss in my two cents. If one wants to bring a private missive public, they should be aware of the consequences. We've seen a few cases of private notes taken public:

a) Children dueling
b) Daegarth tacking up a note from Dal (or the other way around)
c) Me responding to Drake's refusal of Stormcrow

In all cases, someone's spoken for it, and others against it. If people can't sweat through the opinions tossed at them, then they shouldn't take anything public.
Things will be viewed and expected to be handled differently depending on the situation in which a private matter is taken public. Either way, my initial purpose for posting was in response to Khrysta's informative post that Drake scittered away to vacation after she just came back from one and won the ring.

In regards to Jona, she is a friend of mine and Noelle's. You have friends that are female too, no? In fact, do you ever speak out against your friends when they do something wrong? Well, you did speak out about my disapproval of Jaycy's actions, I'll grant you that. However, you have a tendency to nibble on your cuticles with how often your foot is in your mouth. Besides, I do believe I have spoken out to Jona. When? I don't remember, but
I'm not so unsure about it I need to look through over a thousand pieces of paper just to prove myself right.
That said, please continue refraining from your whining, for your eyes and mind bleed with the strain of trying to work properly when presenting your opinion/ideas/insults.
Simply,

Var Medici-Giovanni

Actually, it's my understanding that Drake is still on her original Leave of Absence from her pregnancy. I don't believe that she returned from one and then left on another after her challenge. I think that she merely waited until the birth of her child before pressing official challenge, but was still on her LoA from DoS. As far as my information goes, she has taken a Leave of Absence ~only~ from her
official duties within the Duel of Swords itself.... not from the responsibilities that accompany her new position as Baroness.

Duelists,

Khrysta is correct. Drake is on maternity leave, as a woman who has given birth several times, I assure you that is no vacation.

Morgan's concern in this is valid, however, no one fussed over Daemon's or Ellisa's chosen or unchosen, as the case may be, replacement. No question of training or authorization was made nor proof requested.

Since it has been shown that Karen Jansen did not violate the confiditiality of her post then she shouldn't be asked to step down. Replacements to my knowledge must be approved by the Duel of Swords supervisor, Golden at present. Therefore if she lacked in training or the ability to perform that tasks of the job, I am sure he would have learned this and not approved her to take over for Drake. Who better than Drake to assist him in finding a
temporary replacement to fill her shoes?

As to Drake absconding with the ring, tried mailing her anything? I believe couriers can find their way to her home or to the Golden Ivy Tavern where G'nort will gladly see it to that it is delivered into her hands.

Var, Drake made a fair challenge and you lost. Quit bitching and go get peer wins to try to get the ring and Barony back.

People.. you criticized Drake for placing an intent to challenge here and called her a coward for pleading her belly. She gives birth and follows through with her challenge to Var, then is criticized for attempting to attend to the duties of parenting to her new daughter. In my not so humble opinion someone who publically proclaims "|¯Devoted to his children¯" should not be critical
of a mother tending her paramount obligation, that of raising her children.

In my humble opinion, a female should not expect a male to understand what one means by "vacation" when they have never had given birth to a child, especially when there are women of the arena who have given birth in the rings while dueling. I misunderstood, so condemn me and call me a hypocrite for never giving birth before.
Either way, if she has obligations as a mother, why did she challenge first? Seems to me her paramount obligation was winning the ring. Maybe I should be criticizing her.

If it was wrong, Golden wouldn't let Karen be assigned by Drake.

So, is Golden wrong and incompetent? Just curious.

I do not condemn you for not understanding what it is like to give birth and no where did I state you were a hypocrite, I said you shouldn't be critical, however, as a father who holds his family above all, then you should understand that obligation must be met first.

Seems to me you should not make assumptions about the obligations of others. Seems to me if you didn't give her a reason to challenge in the first place this part of this discussion wouldn't be taking place. She placed an intent to challenge before the birth, she challenged you afterward.

We aren't simply talking about birthing, we are talking about the day to day operation of a household and caring for children. As a father of four, I'm surprised that you seem to claim ignorance of this.

Come and care for my brood, Var, and we shall see after walking in the shoes of a mother if you have a clearer insight.

So if one had the choice to challenge for the ring or to raise their child first, it is more acceptable to choose challenging for the ring?

If the vacation was so important for raising the child, I would have taken the vacation first, Collie. I wouldn't have waited until I "got what I wanted".

Again, Var you miss the point, she DID take a leave of absence to have her child. Perhaps if you and others simply allowed the woman some peace during the time she would have held off her challenge. Drakewyn Silvertree was true to her word to you and issued challenge after the birth.

Bluntly, you can't have your cake and eat it too, Var. If she hadn't followed through you would now be accusing her of cowardice or breaking her oath for not issuing her challenge as she stated.

If she actually took a leave of absence, Khrys, why in the world would she threaten Var of challenging? She's away with her family, right? My arse. Challenge of intent? Give me a break. Is this like a tornado warning. It may come, it may not, just be alert. You may get hit! So she just leaves her family everyday to write a post, reply to posts, set a challenge
match, be at the challenge match, take about 1-2 hours of her time there, stay for a while, (talking to friends.)and finally for god sakes, leaves. Taking more time to walk or run or stinking take a horse to her little house. I don't mean to offend her, but come on, where's the logic?
