Getting off the Fence

Patrons, especially a few.
In effort to possibly enlighten those that can be reached, and stemming from the never ending stream of challenges that come from nameless vagabonds these days. I am forced to state an opinion that will be less than popular with some, but is, of course, the brutal and honest truth that I am often so good at adminstering.
Of late, the heathen huns that have beswarmed this Arena in ever growing numbers over the last year, have begun to annoy me. And with the sudden wave of challenges from those that got lucky enough to beat more of their own type than some, we are at what I would call a serious impasse within our Arena that is near to making some of us pull our hair out in absolute frustration.
There has been for quite some time now a sign over the door of the Arena that I am afraid most have ignored in their passion for a quick match and the valor and feeling of victory. To the meat of the point...there are those that invade our realm for lack of any other reason but to duel.
Do they know of the history and the tradition that this place embodies? Do they care for the legends and that which has went before them and surpassed them in their own pitiful strivances for glory? I think not. And thusly...I am highly annoyed.
You that have come to this Arena with no life to you and nothing but the glint of victory and peer wins in your eyes I now damn for all eternity. Should you move for title...I will block you, should you gain it, I will remove you if it is within my power. Those with no care for that which is the greatest thing within these walls, I damn thee.
There are many here that are worthy of the songs and stories these halls have heard. But some of you are not among that number. And as I once felt it was necessary to champion and instruct the new to our halls, I now spit upon my own idealistic ignorance. Because some can never be taught....or do not wish to be.
So dash yourselves upon the rock of belief, souless ones. You will gain no happiness here should I have my way.
I am,

DragonLord,
Although I agree with you, ::chuckles:: This puzzles me..if you plan to block or remove those "heathens" yourself..I sincerely hoped that you did not see me as one, as we do have a pending date of challenge.

The blocking is easy.
And I do not have to raise a hand personally to remove a fool. As has been evidenced in the past.
And had I thought you a fool Daelin I would not have dirtied my hands with challenging you.
There is far more than one way to skin the proverbial feline.

Ye nerra were one to pussy foot were ye Adonai?
I agree your point is valid and the manners of more than the new ones need to be polished.
There are a few of the so called experienced members of our community who need a reality check.
Good luck in the effort.

Doth seem unto me this wert the given point of the Amethyst Ring, thou simply stated thine point in a more verbose manner.
Above all; reason, logic and compassion must rule, else tyrants ye become.

Well.... we have all talked about it at some time, but perhaps now we should push ourselves to do something. What is it? The 10 PW rule. This has been around for a while... and when it was brought to life there were not as many WL's. To to beat 10 of them, took some time. Yet as we all know, now adays, someone can do it in a matter of a week, or two. I think we need to seriously push to get this
pushed up. There are far more Wl's now, and so we should move it to perhaps 20 or so. This would make things a little more difficult, but obviously not impossible.

Bard,
Your words are wise and I welcome them. And tyrant I may be, but I am one being and speak for myself. I am not a part of this Ameythyst Ring nor have I been asked to be. I speak for myself in the voice of love of the realm and in hopes to place a check upon the seeming plague that has infested it.
Should my words prove false and not sway those that so mindlessly work their evil upon this place I hold dear. Then we will fall back on the tried and true methods. An infection cannot harm further once the limb which is infested is removed.
Simply,
~Adonai

Something my Father taught me...
Those who can, do.
Those who cannot, teach.
Those who cannot teach, criticize.
At least you're willing to do rather than just criticize Adonai, unlike others we know of.

Avery,
No. Bad. This isn't punishing the idiots, just those who less often duel. The idiots duel constantly.
Morgan le Fay and Jaycynda Ashleana are both amazing Barons. Neither duel very much due to whatever reasons.
Methous, Tim, duels every night.
Also, Warlords don't duel each other as often as you think.
This is taken from the latest Warlord Rankings. I'll remind you this is well into the cycle.
1 Alkron 7 2 1 9
Daegarth 7 2 0 9
3 X SteveG X 9 3 0 12
4 RLupton 34 19 3 53
5 Falablah 8 5 0 13
6 Roland Sal 11 8 2 19
7 Faxfallen 5 4 0 9
HumaDragbn 10 8 0 18
9 SHIV BLADE 6 5 0 11
10 Marzan 20 17 1 37
11 Sintamyr 14 12 1 26
12 Methous45 9 8 0 17
13 Skyler CJ 5 5 0 10
Taylara 5 5 1 10
TinyTopaz 9 9 2 18
16 Cas Maxim 6 7 0 13
17 Mornlythe 5 8 0 13
18 DucPercy 6 10 0 16
19 JakeMHeart 8 14 1 22
20 KarenWildr 3 7 0 10
21 LordGunthr 3 8 0 11
Zen Dueler 6 16 1 22
Percentages are removed for ease of reading.
Of the Warlords in DoS, only four could have gained ten peer wins this cycle. Note, only four have more than ten wins.
Peer wins is not the problem.

As always, Mikhail, you expressed your thoughts masterfully.
I'm sure none of those who wish to push for change intend to become tyrants, but I do agree that an amount of caution in that area is imperative...just in case.

::having lost a duel and hence a wager that requires him to steer clear of the fire waters, he flips through a few posts::
Well, if a person can just up and start dueling here and get the necessary WoL to become a Warlord in a matter of days, perhaps one should have to have had your name in the standings for (someone more qualified than I can insert a period of time here). This could insure that they've had an ample amount of time to review the histories and read up on proper procedure and conduct for the issuing of challenges as well as other topics a participant of the
DoS should know.
My sadly sober thoughts,
