com*mu*ni*ty (noun), plural -ties
often attributive to:
1 : a unified body of individuals:
b : the people with common interests living in a particular area; broadly : the area itself <the problems of a large ~>
c : an interacting population of various kinds of individuals (as species) in a common location
d: a body of persons or nations having a common history or common social, economic, and political interests <the international ~>
2 : society at large
-------------------------------------------------------------------As you can see, and I feel, the basic gist is that the basement's community consists of everyone ever to grace the rings, good or bad personas alike. If the community consists of everyone, no group of persons can be the base, for in a puzzle, it can not be complete with a certain piece missing in the mix.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
To Bicker:
1 : to engage in a petulant or petty quarrel.
Beiver Writes:
"Things that people find idiotic:
1) Trying to insult each other to get popularity.
2) Waving a tittle around like it means something anymore.
3) Thinking you know everything about DoS when that is impossible.
4) Trying to blame other people for you mistakes.
5) Fiddlying with the rules until you are happy with them."
Of what use was this post, if it can not be labled as a petty notice issued to possibly jest and poke fun at a certain group, the title holders, "the basis of the community?" Here you are speaking for the entire community; does that not make this missive petty, being you do not know the views of everyone in the community, or even anyone, sides yourself? If it was aimed to stir a flame and start a quarrel, being it isn't much use for anything else, it
can be called bickering, the very thing you charge others with and call ends to. You also cease to incite examples of bickering from the ladies you chastised.
Hypocrite: : a person who puts on a false appearance of virtue or religion;
Honour: The act of treating one with respect;
Respect: Giving deep consideration to actions toward others, and listening to the entire facet of one's situation before judging.
You labeled 'the ladies' with taking part in a petty quarrel, bickering. You did not, however cite any examples and wording upon them as such. As you did on the post of idioticy, you spoke for the entire community in what seemed a missive of bickering and little importance, save for the fact it might start a flame. This is giving little consideration for the entire community, of which, you feel, is based upon fourteen persons, when it is not. By not
giving this consideration, you are not treating those you unjustly labeled with honour. But, you claim to be calling for the end of bickering, while you yourself engage in the act. Which leads to your hypocricy..you claim to be a generally nice guy, which I do not despute personally, and a church knight...yet, is it 'nice': Respectful, pleasant....is it respectful and pleasant to judge before taking the time and giving the proof for your wagers?
Again, an irony. Finally, do not label my post as bickering, and attempt to fulfill the cycle..when I am merely pointing some things I felt when reading your missive..though, feel free to, with proof this time, Beiv, 'k?

Let us all put our hands together in praise of our esteemed friend, Coron DeCopacheta, as he has artfully and thoughtfully put up a post that may -actually- do some good. I add my words to that of Khrysta: Thank you Coron.
Without the sarcasm this time,

Dear, Sweet, Innocent Coron. You yourself have defined what a hypocrit is. I unfortunaty, never said that I didn't do any of what I "accuse" others of doing. And to tell the truth, What really needs to be said, is that the community is based on the commoners, for with out them, there would be no DoS. Titles are all nice, and show what you've achieved, but what do you do with the title after you have it except wave it
around in the Arena? Personal, I would not mind being a Baron, but I would not advertise it like the I had the Holy Grayl. As for the bicker, I'm sorry Lady Khyrs, I did only skim your missive, and I was in error in putting your name upon mine missive. As for Lady Jona, if should could figure out how to use that elequent tongue to give praise, she would be more respected. Any can find a fault in something, It takes a very good person to find the
good, and praise others for what they have accomplished. Granted, I do not know everyone in the DoS, and I don't pretend to. I will never pretend to know everyone, because that would be a ludicris idea. You can not know all, for there is always something new to learn. And the only time that you no long learn something knew is when you die. I will try hard not to insult anyone, though it is the nature of humanity to question, and disagree with others.
Should we let that tear apart our beloved community? When I said that barons are the base of this community, I was again wrong, the barons, and the overlord set standards, and keep our community from crumbling into chaos. Should any feel the need to challenge my words, that is your right, adn your priviledge as a human, or what ever you might be. As for me being General Nice Guy, I work to be friendly to all, and hate none, fore that is not my
nature. I hope this finds all in the best of light. I also hope that none think this was just an attempt to recover from a greivous error, for it is not, I do stand by my words, and as I said, you may call that into question if thou likes.
::places a picture of the Arena under the missive:: Barons, Think of the community before yourselves, it will make you legends, and give you great honor. Even if you do not like the Overlord, your true oath is to the community.

"Dear, Sweet, Innocent Coron"
Gee, dat sure is better than DeCopacheta...err..space, Aerenth, makes me sound like I make my own wine..
::grins::
"I unfortunaty, never said that I didn't do any of what I "accuse" others of doing. And to tell the truth, What really needs to be said, is that the community is based on the commoners, for with out them, there would be no DoS."
You said it was based on the title holders, and now the commoners...all I'm saying, m'friend, that the community consists of both, and that in order to help the community, you must know what it is made up of.
"but what do you do with the title after you have it except wave it
around in the Arena? Personal, I would not mind being a Baron, but I would not advertise it like the I had the Holy Grayl."
Err..what's this waiving about, anyways? I mean, what do 'these barons' do to waive their title around? I haven't witnessed any such bragging or pulling of ranks, but possibly you have, though I don't know who currently would do that.
"Any can find a fault in something, It takes a very good person to find the
good, and praise others for what they have accomplished. Granted, I do not know everyone in the DoS, and I don't pretend to. I will never pretend to know everyone, because that would be a ludicris idea."
Aye, 'tis easy to nid-pick, and your intentions are good, but you did the same, picking out self-proclaimed idioticy, though I be pulling flaws in the post as well anyways, no'n be perfect. Oi, good assertion at the end as well, but from now on, try not to represent the community's views, you'll be flamed by some and repremanded by others for just and injust reason..better to stick with your opinion.
"I will try hard not to insult anyone, though it is the nature of humanity to question, and disagree with others."
'tis a difference between disagreement and insults, though quite possibly some might not discern the two.
Your intentions are good, but the ends do not justify the means, though you aren't the only one suffering from such..but try not to contradict yourself, you might be flamed or found in disagreement, pending on the person..but don't think I'm trying to pick on you or anything, laird knows, I have nothing to boast about in knowledge or anything of that sort. I ne'r said that you said that you ne'r said that Sally stated the fact that Lucy was stating
the fact...err..I mean, I ne'r said you said that you never said that you did not do the things you chastised others for possibly doing, though,....wouldn't a few commas be good in that sentence..'tis a contradiction for you to do such. Any further missives, I'll respond to via mail, being you provide me with an address, being the matter is beaten, and the missive is directed toward anything I say on da cork...oh, needless to say, there wasn't, and
won't be, any hard feelings for anything penned on and by you on this cork..
Good Wishes,
Coron.

Apparently Beiver, what you failed to realize is by pointing out flaws and idiocies as I believe you called them, that your words would start trouble. Next time, it might be wise to think about the equal and opposite reaction that your action will cause prior to jotting your thoughts down for all to see, eh?

Sir Beiver,
I am responding to you only for the reason that you have now descended into direct insult to me.
What do *you* know of this community? No very much, as evidenced from your blind striking out at everything here.
I have stood in these halls for so many moons now that it is pointless to recount them. In every action I take, other than one, I put the thoughts of this community into what I do.
Are you privy of the knowledge of conversations between myself and warlords, Barons and many Overlords past now that turned the wheels within this place? Are you even minutely aware of the Houses and groupings and peoples that have built this entire community from the ground up so long ago? Do you know ANYTHING about, let us say.....Lady Morgan LeFay? Other than pointless requoting of things you've seen here on this kiosk? Do not sir,
tell us how and what our community is. WE ARE THE COMMUNITY.
I take deep insult to your insulting me and calling me self righteous and blind to the community. You yourself do not even have the beginnings of the knowledge you need to have to take upon yourself the airs your flaunting about here.
To many more misteps Bevier....and someone is going to get irritated with your ignorant drivel. Namely me....as your posts have gotten more and more annoying as you go on.
I am sure...once you step back and think this over to yourself you'll see what everyone is trying to say to you sir. Ignorance is not incurable. And I believe that you might be intelligent enough to remedy yourself. But surely.....do not dissapoint my expectations.

Lady Khrys,
I understand your words completely and I agree with you. It's not required of anyone to agree with each other, but it is required to at least attempt a modicum of civility. Thank you for your response.
Lady Jonalyn,
Consider the subject closed. I'm not willing to continue this pointless catfight with you.

Ah...but would it not make more sense, then, if you are to point out the flaws of the members of this community, to then change those in yourself, instead of showing them to the others so they can change them?
The best lead by example and not by word.

Sir Beiver.
As a Baroness, I've been apprised of my rights and responsibilities... and none of them include making decisions for the community as a whole.
Should there be a question related to a challenge match during my tenure, I will be called upon to make a decision.
I must also be concerned with my personal decisions of Loyalty to the Overlord, even to the point of defending him from challengers if selected to do so.
Rules decisions are made by the Supervisor, often after rules discussions in which the entire community is invited to participate.
I am well aware that, as a title holder, my actions are scrutinized by much of the community... it is also possible that I am looked upon as a role model.
But, in the end, each person chooses their own path of Honor... even if that path leads away from what most consider Honor.
Lady Drake, aka the Gryphon.

Sir Beiver~~~
I will consider your statement about my missives as an apology and, of course, I do accept it. Thank you. To admit one has made a mistake and move to correct it shows honor and integrity.
