Amethyst Ring - DoS Inquisition?

So, Dalamar is dethroned, and some of the old timers return. Some for whatever reasons have come back to these hallowed rings to once again be apart of the dueling community. And so a new era begins. What kind of era is this?

Ian, thrice baron as well as an accomplished and respected duelist, has returned, but not to duel. But rather to spout rhetoric of the way things are to be according to Ian as the ringleader of his own political movement. The Amethyst Ring, a once proud collective of individuals from many of the Swords old days, now the tool similar to a gang of thugs. Don't like it my way, then take the highway is the sense I get from Ian's attitude since
returning to the rings. So if you do not fall into a certain parameter of code and ethics, then the witch-hunt comes for you to take everything from you. The DoS Inquisition has come it seems my comrades.

Correct me if I am wrong, Ian. And even though I do agree with a lot of your views, I definitely disagree with your approach. The most base concept of the rings is that the blade rules the day since any given dueler can win any given match on any given day regardless of the stakes. Yet, Ian has proclaimed he will not return from retirement or seek title, but rather orchestrate 'pawns' to do his will against those he sees as not the 'way according
to Ian'. Who follows a leader who will not stand in arms with them against the enemy? How do you really expect to effect change and make people listen if your not willing to risk your dueling reputation for the dueling community?

As Jonalyn, orchestrates from her bar stool manipulations of duelers without stepping into the ring herself, so now has Ian become a puppet master of conviction rather than a dueler with purpose. While I am sure my opinion matters not to thee, Ian, I am very disappointed to see you take this approach towards the dueling community. I know you to be generally a wise man of action who knew the score was settled only one way, in the ring by your own
hand.

This is not meant as a personal attack, but rather a to truly understand your motives, Ian. Because from the appearances I've witnessed, the posts I have read written by your hand, and talking to a few others, this is the sense I feel. I would like to personally hear from your mouth or written by your hand upon this corkboard your intentions, motivations, and reasoning behind this new course of action and involvement in the Swords community.

I am growing weary of explaining this, so I suggest you read carefully and slowly.

There is no fundamental difference between what the Amethyst Ring is doing, and what any number of other groups have attempted in the past.

The difference here is that in the past, those groups lied through their collective teeth about their goals - and were soundly vilified for doing so, while many said they would perhaps even support those goals if they were expressed honestly.

Now, expressing those goals honestly, I am called a tyrant, and inquisitor, and other unsavory things. We now see the value of honesty here ranks right up there with respect, decency, and reason as traits to be spat upon by the sociopathic minority.

Sadly, I'm not entirely certain it IS a minority anymore... and if I become convinced of this, rest assured the Amethyst Ring will no longer become a concern.
