Realignment of the Seventh
From: lorduziel@aol.com (Lord Uziel)
Date: 23 Feb 1999 00:36:42 EST
Patrons,
In a fit of frustrated anger last night, Lord Eros made the intention of realigning my Barony known to the public in scorn to me for my laughing at the antics and insults passed from William Ray Karnafexx to him and his wife.
All three are friends, or were. And I have always found William to be highly humorous....no matter his bent or tone.
While the insulting of ladies is not something I often take lightly. William is well known to dish it out to those he likes....as well as dislikes. This is something that those of us that know him well enough know. So I found the situation humorous to say the least.
I will not take such insult to my support of his reign lightly.
From this day forth, until such time as Lord Eros has passed the crown of this sport to another. The Seventh is now aligned Renegade. As he would realign my Barony....so it shall be.
And should Lord Ero's best the winner of this Warlords Tourney and retain his crown. Let it be known that I will, twenty four days after this Tourney is done, press challenge to him for his crown in a duel of honor to recompense my public humiliation.

Lord EverMeadow, Madame Karen, Barons of Swords,
I hereby set the alignment of the 7th Ring at Renegade. The Holder of this ring laughed while my wife was publically humiliated by another and offered no apology to either her or myself. Perhaps to some that is overreacting, but I that is not the way I was raised to understand Honor and Loyalty.

Lord Golden, Lady Jansen, Overlord, Barons and patrons all.
As stated in the rules of our realm.
A loyal Baron realigned by the Overlord has right to immediate challenge to the Overlord because of this.
I press this right and request immediate justice, before the declaration of the Warlords Tourney winner. Or if this cannot be accomodated I request immediate justice after, should Lord Eros best the Tourney winner.

T'would appear thee hae declared thineself Renegade before Eros didst chose to alter thine alignment. Tis verra difficult for a baron what hast already announced his stance ast renegade to consider that his alignment hast been set by the Overlord, neh? Perhaps thee shall state thee dinna apprise the Barons, the Overlord and the Standings Keeper in writing? Methinks thee hae done so and most publicly and thine offer of
challenge unto the Overlord be premature.
Tis another discrepancy in thine intelligence in the missive announcing yuir altered alignment, methinks ye aire nae aware of. I shall leave it to thee to discover though tis glaring.
I should hope Master Evermeadow ist cognizant of these jottings upon the cork, and if, perchance he isna, methinks he should be apprised forthwith.

M'lady Starfare,
If you read more clearly the missive in question you will see that I was acknowledging the already stated realignment that Lord Ero's made in the Arena itself in front of thirty three witnesses, four of which were Inn staff themselves, and announcing the acceptance and intentions of that realignment. Had it truly been a self realignment without the words already spoken by the Overlord there would be little reason for him to post his own
realignment of the title, now would there?
And Lord Ero's letter to the Ruling Council and Lord EverMeadow on the realignment of the title was the first to go to officials and to the Ruling Council of Barons. With my response to it being afterwards.
One would request that you cease attempting to find something wrong with what everyone does m'lady. Tis not a fair habit for one of your grace and intelligence.
Patrons,
I have little else to say on the matter. I have been held to task and punished for an slight that was not mine to bear. Should any wish to further discuss issues with me, send your missives via fast horse. Or speak with me in person. As I will not propogate a wild orgy of name calling and nay saying that seems rather popular of late.

Uzie Poo,
Firstly, congratulations on thine reading ability, it hast nae improved atall. I should refer thee to thine own missive placed 'pon th' cork.
Thee make the presumption that I am nae privy to manna things. Foolish of thee, but thee aire ast e'er the fool, the comedy act of the basement. I do hope thee aire aware that ast a declared renegade, anna warlord with the necessary bona fides canst issue immediate challenge unto thee.
Thee whine thee were punished for a slight that wast nae thine? How droll, Uzie Poo. Wast it nae less than a fortnight agon that thee declared both Topaz and Eros ast dear friends? Thee claim thee dinna take the insulting of a lady lightly, yet thee laughed? How utterly ludicrous for thee to make that statement. Thee hae happily indulged in insulting so manna of the fairer gender for nigh ast long ast thee hae breathed the air of these rings.
Thee hae fair pissed thineself awaiting anna excuse to seek the crown, and do attempt to use Billy ast thine excuse this time.
Thou art a lout, a cur, a slavering, drooling hyena. Thine loyalty ist ast ever unto none, nae e'en ta thine proclaimed friends. Personally, I should hope Billy himself whips thee like the dog thee aire.

Having read her mail this morning, and wandered to the boards and found this... with a confused look, she wandered to the next set of messages, wondering what she missed.

::walks up and reads the posts:: Well so much for that idea. Guess Adonia is going to get a chance for the crown. Hope I'm not around when he makes the try, I might have to leave for good if he accomplishes it. ::this only being thoughts, and a few spoken words to himself, Sir Beiver walks off pondering::

Whichever Missive stating alignment change reached Golden first, I believe will be the decider of this issue. If Marzan sent to Golden, and Adonai didn't or didn't until after Marzan's letter, than the rules simply state that Adonai has immediate right to challenge which superceed all other challenges.
Adonai, by his own admission said he is willing to wait till after the Tourney winner has their shot. It is my belief that Adonai should stick to this and wait till the Tourny winner has thier chance for something earned rather than a challenge of politics.
On a side note, regarding Billy Ray Karnafexx;
If you can't handle the heat get out of the kitchen. And you better watch out cause your daddy is back to spank all the bad children it seems.

::smirks, taking a drag off his cig and penning a little note::
Long live Overlord Marzan who shall banish all those who laugh at times that he deems inappropriate! Nothing like a good tyrant to give this place some personality, if you ask me. For his next trick, I suspect he shall banish all Barons who do not offer sufficient praise of his ability to sing and/or his wife's skill at dueling (or lack thereof in both cases for the more perceptive among us). Have a nice day, suckers.

Lady Starfare:
Over thirty people did witness Marzan take this action against Baron Uziel verbally, face-to-face, well before either party did post in this matter.
If it is ruled that Adonai has changed his alignment voluntarily, I will personally protest the decision, and I won't shut up about it until I'm dead.

Jonalyn,
Ye are a dear friend and I often defend yer right of opinion vehemently, however I believe ye are just speakin' on emotion rather dan fact. Marzan realigned Adonai, and he mailed da officials, overlord and barons regarding his wish fer "justice" as he called it. Adonai's challenge is ta be his vindication fer Marzan's overreaction.
If in ye have a deep passion ta hate Adonai, I merely suggust ye take it ta him in private fer ya have no grounds ta bash him in dis matter.
Respectfully,
~Jeffrey Oakenshield~

All beware. It is declared by the ever-honorable and wise Overlord that a sense of humor has no place in our basement. Any duelist displaying said sinful quality or laughing at another displaying such will be banished into the deepest, darkest pits of Hell.
Yes, that's right. You'll be sent to the arena.
With a straight face,
