Ian, Jeffrey,
I am nae disputing that Marzan didst take the action agin Uzie Poo. T'was one would hae ta hae been deaf nae to hear Uzie Poo's braying. I am nae deaf.
Tis vastly amusing that Uzie Poo deems this a punishment. He demand "justice", how droll. Thee would think he wasna aware his actions wouldst hae the expected consequences, neh?
I dinna consider either Marzan nor Uzie Poo to be fit to wear the crown, for vastly different reasons, an' hae said ast much to both.
By his own admission, Uzie Poo indicated he would press challenge twenty four days after the tourney should Marzan retain the crown. Methinks he'll nae keep his word 'pon that either.

<< While the insulting of ladies is not something I often take lightly. William is well known to dish it out to those he likes....as well as dislikes. This is something that those of us that know him well enough know. So I found the situation humorous to say the least.>>
<< I will not take such insult to my support of his reign lightly.>>
So he should take the insult to his wife, the holder of his heart and soul lightly but *your* insult must be redressed by:
<<I press this right and request immediate justice, before the declaration of the Warlords Tourney winner. Or if this cannot be accomodated I request immediate justice after, should Lord Eros best the Tourney winner.>>
The total disregard for a dozen Warlords that honorably duel for the right to face the Overlord?
Are we now to accept insults dealt out by those that are people who dueled here years ago simply because of time?
I have read the Histories, anyone can give up a grudging respect for Billy Ray's skill in the rings, I do not feel the need to accept his insults in spite of that(or because of it).
Many men out of emotion, a man acting out of his emotions for his wife should be taken as just that, an instinctual protection for that which he loves.
Call this what it is, a selfish wanting to challenge for Overlord with the intent to step on whomever(including those in the Tourney) gets in your way.

To all concerned:
Attempting to quantify the level of insult offered is silliness.
I, for one, refuse to accept one's sense of humor cannot be expressed at a well-delivered line during the course of an insult. Whether something someone says is funny or not has nothing to do with honor; indeed, I myself quite routinely am unable to continue a heated argument because my opponent has said something even -I- find so funny I can't help but laugh.
The Overlord is insulted. The Overlord has a rule-given right to realign Baron Uziel, though I feel it to be grossly over-reactive.
The Baron is insulted. The Baron has a rule-given right to challenge over this issue - a specific right granted in a specific instance.
The Baron does not have the right to challenge "an" Overlord; he has the right to challenge Eros specifically, based on an action taken. The winner of the Baron's tourney does not have the right to challenge Eros specifically, but "the" overlord - whomever it may be.
The decision will be left to Lord Evermeadow. I'm thankful it is not my decision to make, as I would find it hard to be reasonable, having been accused of dishonor simply for suggesting to the Overlord that he overreacted...

Drake's post of intent to challenge was not a challenge. Lupton got to challenge me first. That is to show that only letters to the official themselves are valid. At least, that's how I see it. All you can do is disagree and dislike it when it's mentioned publicly.
Seamus challenged Evan. I challenged Evan the day after, fully aware that Seamus had already pressed challenge. Seamus was allowed to challenge first, because he sent the letter out. The councils nor the officials rearranged the order of the letters sent to appease anyone. I had a chance to retract my challenge, but I was aware of the consequences, and did not let that stop me.
Those are the only personal anecdotes I can think of off the top of my head.
You chose to inform the council yourself, when you were probably aware that Eros would have realigned you himself. You had it known first, and you got it known first. However, you have to stick with the fact your challenge shouldn't go before the warlord tourney's winner, because Eros didn't essentially realign you.
If you mailed the council before Eros did, Adonai, tough.

I am interested to see which section of the rules Golden will judge as having more weight, as well.
While I do not support a baron who was realigned stepping over another's pending/verified challenge to the Overlord, I think Uziel's challenge should take priority in this instance. The chance that a winner of the Warlord Tourney might defeat Eros should not come with the threat of Uziel's challenge to "a" Overlord, as Ian pointed out.
Of course, if Golden rules that Uziel must wait until after the winner of the tourney faces the Overlord, and that person defeats Eros, I feel that Uziel's right to challenge is void, as the person who realigned him is no longer eligible for challenge.
Under no circumstances do I feel Uziel, or anyone who could be in his position, should receive a higher right to challenge any other person other than the person who realigned him.

Well, technically, if this did happen, and Adonai still wished to challenge whoever the Overlord was, he would have the same rights as all the other Barons to change alignment and immediately send his challenge with his alignment change. Of course, he would have to beat anyone else with similar ideas to the punch again.
However, I agree with the bulk of Morgan's statement. He should be allowed to challenge Eros first, because he is specifically allowed a challenge to the Overlord who realigned him. If, for some reason, this does not happen, he should not get this challenge against Eros's successor. After all, it was Eros who realigned him.

Morgan, Percival:
I do not believe the question of Baron Uziel issuing challenge to any other than Marzan has been brought up as a possibility. My comments were merely to illustrate that, indeed, Adonai's issue is, specifically, with Eros, whereas the winner of the tourney's challenge is for the title, regardless of the holder.
I believe that Baron Uziel understands, accepts, and welcomes the possibility of essentially immediate challenge should Lord Evermeadow grant his right ahead of that of the tourney winner. In fact, were that the case, the ultimate right of challenge would boil down to the tourney winner having the paramount right to challenge the winner of a duel between Baron Uziel and the Overlord, meaning the Baron, if successful, may only rule for a week. So be
it; were this the case, his thirst for retribution would be served regardless. That is the purpose of that section of the Terms of Challenge, rather than simply allowing someone to claim the title.
In other words... while I cannot say for certain I would or would not particularly welcome Baron Uziel as Overlord, I feel he does have the inarguable right, as given in the Terms, to test the issue which stands between he and the Overlord in honorable fashion, in a test of steel. It would be a shame for a prize to take precedence over the honor of two men who feel affronted.

You know, I was talkin' with a few people about what was said last night. I gotta say, Billy: you really screwed up.
I mean, seriously, even without her face in the way Topaz is still horrendous. I've seen blind men flee from her in terror. ::draws a little arrow:: <---- This was a joke, since we know certain people (hint, hint) have demonstrated no ability to understand and take one.

Dear Patrons~
It would seem as if both men are in the wrong here. That is, if the information I'm reading is correct.
Eros, my friend, Topaz can take care of herself. If she felt insulted, I'm certain that she could have given Billy Boy what for on her own. On a second note, a Baron's Alignment is a political matter, not a personal one. To take a personal matter between yourself, Topaz, Billy Ray and Adonai, and turn it into a very public political matter is blowing it far out of porportion.
Adonai, would it have killed you to apologize? And, as with Eros, your change of alignment dragged the problem from something that could have been handled privately between you to a political battle.
In my opinion (we are allowed to have those still, right?), both are in the wrong in this and both should apologize to each other. I, personally, could use a little *peace* around here.

Eros~~~ Adonai~~~
I, too, agree with Sid's words.
There is much over-reacting here, on both your parts. Apologies are in order, not threats and banishings. I'm put in mind of children on the play-yard, not adults.... certainly not responsible adults.
