Technically, we are still allowed to have opinions, Sid.
But if you actually form one of your own instead of picking the popular one of the day, you'll be accused of being dishonorable in...hmm. No more than two seconds.
Lovely political environment we've developed lately. Really.

Jona,
Miss Jansen has not attempted to usurp Golden's duties. She has often stated in her postings that she will defer to Golden's decision. I've seen it numerous times. And from what I understand of all challenges, it is first to the Standings Keeper that the initial rulings go. Regarding Adonai, Eros, and Eric's challenge, I see no reason that Miss Jansen, the Official Standings Keeper, should not be allowed to make a ruling in this case. Though I
am certain that Miss Jansen is more than willing to defer to his expertice, as she stated numerous times in her post.
So, in closing, I see no attempt at Miss Jansen to usurp Master Evermeadows Duties.
If there were, Believe me, I would not let my personal feelings get in the way of telling anyone what they were doing right or wrong. If I felt Miss Jansen was doing something wrong, she'd hear about it. But, I don't let personal feelings dictate my actions.
Thank you,

Lady Jonalyn...
I think it's time for your literacy lesson.
Miss Jansen clearly wrote, "To save the Supervisor much grief on this matter, and acting according the the rules as written, I propose the following."
She also wrote, "Should Lord Evermeadow wish to overturn my decision on this matter, I will willingly bow to his expertese in these matters."
And in closing she wrote, "The only reason I am getting involved at all is that the Rules of Engagement mention the Standing's Keeper multiple times, and I felt I was required to answer."
Having spoken to her, she indicated an unwillingness to become involved... however, she was unable to contact Lord Evermeadow and had to make some level of decision... even if it was only a proposal, not an official ruling.
In point of fact, a scant five and a half hours later, she wrote, "As such, until the Supervisor makes an official ruling on this matter, Baron Uziel's challenge must be placed on hold."
Now, where in all of this is Ms. Jansen usurping Lord Evermeadow's duties or, more importantly, his authority?
Lady Drake, aka the Gryphon.

Madame Silvertree
Perhaps it's yuir turn for a lesson in literacy.
Keeper of the Standings dinna equal Supervisor.
Karen Jansen made an official statement upon this cork with regard to the rules of engagement, an erroneous statement, I might add, apparently without consulting Master Evermeadow.
She didst clearly state to whit: Should Lord Evermeadow wish to over turn my decision on this matter..." A decision isna a proposal, Madame. So kind of Karen Jansen to be willing to bow to Master Evermeadow's expertise. I must say, Madame Drakewyn, thine expertise in hiring help leaves much to be desired.

In the matter of the Standings Keeper's adjudication of a challenge, tis the matter of ascertaining the validity of the bona fides offered, neh? There be no bona fides presented in this matter.

Perhaps it's your turn for a lesson in literacy.
Keeper of the Standings does not carry equal authority of Supervisor.
This is kind of fun. Can we have lessons in literacy more often?

Khrys
Lass, Eros properly took umbrage that his wife wast insulted. He properly took umbrage that his "declared" friend, Uzie Poo, didst bray like a jackass. Though the matter harked back to a tourney and a match involving Billy and Topaz, and tis well known that Billy hast a penchant for lambasting those he both cares for and dinna care for, tis Eros might hae at least expected his declared "friend", the Baron Uziel, to still his braying. The Lady
Topaz might hae expected her declared "friend", the Baron Uziel, to do so ast well.
Tis it might be considered a matter of honor twixt the two, Eros and Uzie Poo, Khrys. Tis ast Uzie Poo hast repeatedly shown he hae none, and doest whimper that he wast punished, much like a petulant child, tis Uzie Poo merely took the opportunity ast e'er to use another for his own purposes in his usual display of pique. Khrys, with "friends" like Uzie Poo, one wouldna need enemies, neh?
