Honor? Whatever.

A lesson in Swords history,

Let's all agree to disagree what honor really is to us all and in relation to others.

If we all had the same view of honor and all abided by the same codes and ethics of honor we would all be drones of some collective overmind. The beauty of RhyDin and of any of the duels is diversity.

In my opinion all this babble about honor especially on this cork is a waste of time and writing resources. It's the same thing that has been going on for years with no resolution or agreements. One day two people agree and gang up against someone else, the next day those two people are against each other.

Just shut up and duel.

Then, Elijah, why are you writing about it?

A better question perhaps, Lupton, is why are you adding fuel to the fire?

Colleen,

I never stated I agreed with his comment, but obviously he does, and yet he falls into the category of his own insult in the same post.

I'm sure it'll make sense to you after months of meditation and thought, Collie... if you try really hard.

Lupton you fool! Don't add fuel to the fire. After all, everybody knows that when somebody says or does something completely moronic, hypocritical and like said situation that it's better to leave them alone than point out how ridiculous they sound. Collie, I applaud you for your stellar advice. The world would be such a better place if we could all ignore stupidity the way you suggest. God forbid we would start any (insert gasp here)
conflicts. Have a nice day, suckers.

Oh, yes, Jesse. You are, again, correct. I will henceforth try and blind myself to the idiocy that plagues this place and refrain from noting it.

Of course, to do that, I'd have to either join the staff or die a dozen times.

Lupton.

Ecore { not Elijah, though he's used that name in the past } was merely making a point known... he was not debating about honor.
In fact, he was decrying the debates about honor, not participating in such a debate.
So, he was -not- being hypocritical, despite your attempt at casting him in that light.

The situation is the same as when I tell people they should refrain from spurious insults and "bashing." By saying that, I am not participating in it... I am commenting upon it.

Projected from St Dominicus~

I've ne'er had the pleasure o' meeting Messire Ecore. I have howe'er read and enjoyed many o' his writings. He is an interesting and clearly well informed personality. But when anyone quills a thought 'pon this cork, they are openly inviting the public ta both read -and- respond to what it is they have ta say.

'Tis clear tha' Lupton was not debatin' about honor either...and I doubt sincerely if the man has e'er needed anyone ta explain ta him just wha' a person is or is not about when it comes ta the written word. He merely made a facetious and pointed comment in response ta ideals tha' were left in an area tha' invited comment, and he had the right o' it ta do sae.

Jesse..

I never said E or his statement were stupid, nor do I believe they are. Whoever it was that quoted Melanie Polanski about honor being each person's own had the right idea.

However.. you are right about ignore what you believe silly, etc.

Lad, if you get your laundress to make sure there are no knots in your shorts you might be a happier fellow. ::draws something here so Jesse knows he's being razzed:: J

When honor pays the bills or puts food on the table give me a call, I might try it.
