Back... again... again.

Yes, I know.
The fourth time I've returned, I think.
It's hard to stay here for very long. Almost every single time I left could be attributed to happenings on this board.
Hard to believe? I thought so. Usually, though, the pointless arguments on the "bicker board" lead me to believe that this "dueling community" is all a bunch of negative nitpickers that I don't wish to be around. Once, I left because after I stated my opinion on a topic, 20 people jumped on the standard "I didn't start flinging mud, he did" bandwagon by imagining that I had somehow insulted the Warlords, Barons, Overlord, and every duelist that
had stepped in the rings. Apparantly, this was a time when disagreeing with popular opinion was an insult, and refusal to being assimilated was an outrage. Of course, I asked people to re-post my supposed insults, so I could properly apologize for offending whoever I had inadvertantly offended. And predictably, they gave up, finding that shooting wooden bullets at diamond armor did nothing... but not before they had used several insults
themselves, discouraging me away from this sad, screwed-up place.
A few weeks later, I came back to forgive. I said, "Hi!" to everyone in the community... who used the typical "You're a Commoner, I'm a Warlord, so I may insult you and get away with it, because all Commoners are morons, and if you disagree with me, I'll just say that since you're a Commoner, you don't know anything" tactic. Which, by the way, is as logical and thought-provoking as Person 2's excellent argument in the following dialog:
Person 1:"You can't get that toy."
Person 2:"But I WANT IT!!!!"
1:"Sorry, Junior, but I just can't afford it right now."
2:"BUT I WANT IT!!!!"
1:"I can't buy it!"
2:"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!"
Of course, I mean no offense by this to Warlords in general, only the prejudiced, biased, ignorant ones. Had to say this, since it seems that I could draw a smiley-face and insult "frowning advocates" over here.
After the joyous welcome I received, I decided that if you didn't want me here, I would go. Nobody cared. Big surprise.
Even later, I thought back to all of the fun I had had in the realm of RhyDin, and in the arenas. Suddenly, I had no control over me. I watched myself return to RhyDin. I watched myself appear in the arena. I watched myself issue an open challenge. I watch myself say, "OK'' to a Warlord who accepted.
I watched myself beat the Warlord 5-2.
I watched further. I watched myself fight again, against a Commoner. I watched myself squeak by closely... then, I was in control again! I fought the end of the match, pulling ahead to win. I was me again.
According to the computers on my spaceship, I had a sort of split personality. Not like, you think you're Napoleon or a superhero. It's more like, your body being inhabited by two consciousnesses. Two minds. I'm working on the cure, but it seems that I am me for now, which is good enough.
I said to myself, "Don't look at those boards! You know how it was their fault that you left! Don't even... well... OK. Read once, but don't post anything. Don't want to get involved in the Pointless Argument Express."
I checked it out, and lo-and-behold! It's different! It's funny! It's got a little sense! People have become civil again! I couldn't stay away from the boards. And I won't leave RhyDin again. Why?
As I won the match that unofficially made me a Swordsman, I heard a beep. I went into communications mode and had a chat with the crew. (Oh, anyone saw me screaming to myself on Saturday, this is an explanation.) It turns out that they found a way to convert my Intergalaxian Standard Credit wages into RhyDin-acceptable money... at a great rate! In fact, now I'm officially "in the money"! I'm shopping around, looking for a home. Castle or
manor, in all probabilities. And I'm tracking down a sword I sold long ago. I'd better find it, too, because I already thought up a name for the old thing. Anyone who saw me duel a year ago would recognize "19th Nervous Breakdown", the gold, silver, platinum, ruby, and emerald sword. I think it's located, though, so don't worry about it! Hee hee...
It's good to be back. Love seeing you familiar faces again, and the new duelists are pleasant too!

If anyone who was my friend back when everyone I knew was a Commoner still hangs out here, drop me a line, or talk to me if you see me. I'm wondering where all of my old pals went. That is, if you are still interested in being my friend. I think all of my former friends became Warlords and have since shunned me...

Don't mind "QUOTING" me, since I do it myself all the time.
I think I finally developed the one thing that separated people like me from all of the Warlords back then (besides respect, I always had it, I just hide it).... That's right, I may have obtained actual dueling skill!

I think you'll find that most of us suffer from it at one time or another, most often about the time we leave and return to the Realms. I can only say that I myself have ~never~ suffered from it, and feel only sympathy for those that have....
