St. Patrick was a Roman, actually. His name was not Patrick, that rather being how his cognomen, 'Patricius' has been anglicized. The cognomen meant that he or someone in his family before him was related to a patrician Roman family.

Padriac wasn't a Roman. He was born somewhere on the isle of Briton and of Celtic blood. He was called Patricius, but after he became a priest. He was actually born in Wales.
Patrick had been made a slave as a young boy, 16, in Ireland and escaped. He returned to Ireland supposedly lead by God or a dream to preach the word of the Christian God to the Irish.
In conclusion.. just because the Romans once were in control of Briton doesn't make Patrick any less a Celt.

I don't think anyone here is Irish.... It would seem odd if there were. In my humble opinion I believe most of us are from other planets than Earth.

Since I was born in Dublin, Ireland of an Irish mother and Scottish father, I believe that qualifies me as Irish or at least half.
In Rhydin it is never wise to make such sweeping statements such as "it doesn't exist in Rhydin." You will learn in time that in Rhydin all things are possible.

Since I was born in Dublin, Ireland of an Irish mother and Scottish father, I believe that qualifies me as Irish or at least half.

Sorry babe, anyone who has a Scottish parent doesn't qualify to be Irish. I believe it has ta' do with the Scottish people swimming in the shallow end of the gene pool for a couple thousand years.
