Just for the record if anyone might be interested, when I first came into the DoS, Xenograg was Overlord, that would be his first of three reigns. No one ever heard of people like Jonalyn, Billy Ray, Siera Red, Kalamere, Iain or any of the other oldtimers known of today.
My idea of "REAL" old timers is Gondar, Falon, Fantasy RC, Me Monk, Kairee, Cymranger, Kitiara, Chiana, LadyeBeth, BINZO, NacHeath, CountStrahd, Lestat, and others whos names none would even recognize regardless if they were any ancient standings or not.

I feel almost compelled to point out that your "idea of Old-Timers" is almost irrelevant now.
I say this not to be insulting, but as a pure matter of relativity. Two years ago, your point was valid; someone who had been here two years at -that- point had barely seen half the arena's history. Now, people you "exclude" in this manner may very well have seen well over three-quarters of the passage of time here.
Again, relativity. When a group of people have been involved so long that hardly anybody still remains whose presence here predates their "peer group," so to speak, then throwing out the names of those who are -not- still part of the community ill-serves everyone.
The fact is, simply, that for all practical purpose, the "old-timers" here are those who were actually present to witness the original Tourney of the Nine (a group including Kalamere, Jonalyn, Billy Ray, Xenograg, yourself, me, and others whom I apologize for not remembering as I write this), and perhaps even a few who came after. I place this particular benchmark for one key reason; it's the last major change to the way things are done here.
Everything since then has been cosmetic, although in time, we may very well consider those who recall the days before Neutral Barons as "old-timers," and then later, those who recall the days when there were only nine Barons, and even later than that, perhaps, those who recall a living, breathing Dalamar Ar'Daumon.

I remember the days when Leto was Overlord... I also remember Athlstan and Luthien and the battle against Val Morta... There's a milestone for you Ian... those who remember the time before Dalamar became Overlord.
Back then, I used to compete with Tass over getting the worst record for the month... usually had it, too.

You have stepped foot in the arena, and the arena's spirit, I feel, will last for a long time. In time that comes, yes, this time period will one day be considered "an age for old timers" as Ian was speaking of relativity.
In a little less than two months, it will be the one year anniversary of when the last four baron's rings were given to the warlord tourney winners.
Today, the title of baron has been given to 135 holders (though some have worn more than one baronial title, the 135 is the total number of holders), and the reigning overlord is the thirtieth overlord.
A little over 4 years ago, there were 9 people holding the title of baron; the original nine holders. MadMadMax was the fourteenth overlord. This I have gathered from reading the histories. One day, in the future, there might actually be a time when the people were wondering what it was like during the reign of the 30th overlord, when their overlord is the 60th, and when they have had 900 people to bear the title of baron.
Maybe then I could safely consider myself an "oldie" of the arena. But compared to many, I am quite new; Two years and two months experience as a dueler for me.
But to get to the point that I almost forgot to add to my sentiments, you will one day be considered an "old timer."

Odd, the passage of time.
I arrived in Rhydin almost four years ago, next week or so, about a week before Siera Redwin dethroned Kalamere for Overlord.

My own arrival at the inn was just about four years ago, from what I can gather. I've been in and out of various places so many times since then that its hard to keep track of the time. Certainly it seems longer to me...for one thing, I had no gray hair back then, and I was invincible, as many still seem.
I didn't become a regular face in the arena till about two years ago I suppose, maybe more.
Every once in a while I stumble across a face that I remember thinking was an "old timer" back then.
Will I ever be an old timer? Most likely not. As Ian pointed out, its all relative, and there are a few dust buckets floating around here that I don't ever expect to leave.
