::mutters about being awoken at just after the midnight hour by a small explosion in the kitchen of his estates and tacks a rambling letter to the boards...as hes sat at the bar composing it and musing for most of the late evening::
A slight diversion from the normal as I will be posting almost completely about nothing here. Bear with me respected patrons....I am highly tired.
I have found this night...like many nights of the last year to be somewhat drafty and empty in our fair Arena. Seeming though it twere that once upon a bygone time that even after dueling hours...many congregated there and took drink and conversation with their peers. Seems somewhat sad. Though mayhaps these late night groupings have moved their locale without my knowledge...but somehow...I think not.
Mayhaps the lingering insomnia that used to effect many have passed...mayhaps they now have better things to do than what they once did. No one is wrong of this of course....I just plainly miss the old camraderie and friendships that we all once held there.
I have read through alot of the posts here...and did you know that, at least on the unread portion of this cork that I had yet to peruse, that there is not a single posting....from anyone, without some form of argumentive name calling or viciousness in it? Where do we go with this? I am understanding of some blood issues, I have had some in my past...and am well aware that sometimes things of that nature are unavoidable. But much of what I have read
is more seemingly to adolescent children and tavern drunks than the people I once knew.
Mayhaps I am unqualified to feel such a way....I do not know. But this place is not as it was. Of course...many have made that observation, which makes me less than observant or a trendsetter. But then....I digress.
There are few here in these rings that I do not have some respect for, or an outright geniune like of that person. I wish others could be the same. Tis a vain, hopeless wish mayhaps. But nothing is more discouraging than seeing all of us, or, let me reprhase that, most of us get dragged down into petty squabbles for ages on end on the mere fact that once, or even many times.....we did not agree.
No one will ever like everyone....that is to be sure. But there is a measure of dignity that many of us have failed to match in these later times. And that to me is somewhat distressing. To watch people tear at each other for little other than the fact that they can is somewhat discouraging as well.
I would venture to offer that mayhaps singularlly thinking that though even though you may not like or agree with someone, that not -everything- they do, say or think is inherently wrong...or evil or vile...or dishonorable, pick your overused cliche here, or dishonest.
The main thing is to remember that even sand matures...even rocks grow old. The sun and sky and winds change daily as do many of the more -permanent- things in your reality. The thing to remember...that no matter what. You vie and contend with some of the most wonderful people in the realm here. And no matter your polarization, they deserve at least the respect you would give any enemy that fought you well and honorablly.
Bah, I had intended to post about nothing...and that of course...was impossible.
Oh yes....on further note......never let your cooks experiment in alchemy in your holdings. I was awakened very early this morning by an explosion in my own estates, and upon locating its origin, found the kitchen door blown out, smoke billowing from within...and one of my cooks, half blackened and singed standing in the doorway repeating - Too much sulfur - over and over again.
Well this was mostly just aimless rambling. I am sure I will see you all this eve sometime. Until then....be well all.
I am,
Adonai Uziel

"But much of what I have read

Very true... except I know rather a few children who aren't nearly so immature, cruel, and aggravating. I, for example, occasionally make a serious post, and when I do, I write without insult. It appears that some people have lost the ability to write in a manner both intelligent and uninsulting.

Yes, at the rate of my planet's main species development, a 63-year-old person is around a 14-year-old human. That's me.
Oh, and we have no "old." We also have no "middle-aged." The reason being that there is no "death by natural causes" for my species.
One could, of course, argue that since I'm 63 years old, I should be as mature as a human adult, even though I'm not fully developed, and am technically still a child. At which I have only one response:
NYAH!

"No one will ever like everyone....that is to be sure."
Not true now that Zem is no more I like everyone. But ye are right about one thing and that is there used to be great late gatherings that I was not aware had ceased. It saddens me greatly to see so many good people at each other's throats all the time too.
