He had no idea what had happened to him. He awoke, his vision blurred as he stared up. A voice came to him...
"Avery"
It was all he heard... Wincing as a pain struck him, he closed his eyes again. Blood trickled from his mouth, his sides felt pain like he never knew. Again he heard the name... Fighting he responded...
"What... Who.. Where am I?"
"You are in the outback"
"Who are you?"
Pushing himself back from the unfamiliar person. Turning to look at hsi surroundings. It was then he saw others... Others that were hurt. A girl... A dwarf. What the hell was going on here? He had no clue, and so he faught to push himself up.... The girl tending him back away... Her name?... Jona was what she said.... The noise... it crowded him once again. He looked at his body... What the hell was this on is body? Grabbing his Baronal ring he threw
it across the Outback... His emerald ring was soon to follow. finally able to push himself up he stumbled across the room to the door.
"none of ya better follow me..."
He opened the door and left, fighting to remeber the way....

She had done what she could to ease Avery's injuries. Much to her startlement, he did not seem to know her when he had finally regained consciousness. What had been more disquieting was that he had not seemed to know anyone, not even who he was. Suddenly he had pulled his Baron's Ring from his finger, heaving it away from him. A moment later he had tugged the Emerald ring from his hand casting it away as well. She had managed to
retreive both rings, tucking them away for safekeeping. He had seemed fearful, almost panicked, shouting to those who remained in the Outback that none were to try to follow him. Then he was gone, into the night.

He awoke the next morning in an alley. A deep pain in his sides, as he faught to draw a breath. How the hell had he got here? Where in the hell was here? His hand went to his sides. Lifting up his shirt slightly he could see the massive bruise that ran along the side of his body. He gently pushed on it.... The ribs were intact. Yet a bruise like this should have broken them. He coughed,
and felt the pain deep within again. His lungs? Could that be it? But how would they have gotten punctured without breaking the ribs? He ran a hand through his hair. Stoping to look at it as he brought it back down to his side. It was covered in blood, and the knuckles were torn. Just what the hell had happen?
He leaned his head against the wall, and felt another pain. His jaw hurt as he moved his head. Opening his mouth slightly brought the sharp sting. Damn... must be broken. What the hell happened to me... He faught to recall last night. Who was that woman. Why were others hurt? Why did they call him Avery..... Who the hell was Avery? What happened to the dwarf. Had he been with him before? Lastly, he recalled those rings... They had to be the
cause of all this. They must have put him under... The pain was intense, as he tried to stand. I got to find out what happened... But how? His mind searched for answers. He knew he couldnt do anything in this shape though. He stumbled over to the street, his legs nearly giving out.
"Oh have mercy..."
He looked over to see a robed man.... He closed his eyes once more, and fell back into the darkness, as the pain washed over him.

He layed there, not daring to open his eyes yet. He felt the coolness around him, as he tried to think. His head hurt, his body hurt, his legs hurt. Opening up his eyes a crack he saw nothing. His hands felt the solid surface below him. Wood... it was a wood floor. He shot open his eyes to see where he was. Darkness. The brief terror of him beeing blind struck him. That was all he need
now. He could barely walk, barley breath, and still had no clue what was going on. And then he focused, it was only dark in this room, that was all. He layed still, he might as well be blind. Then came the voice...
"He has awaken master."
He turned his head to the voice, and saw a breif outline of the man. Still in robes, the last moments came bak to him. He tried to move, to get away from whatever it was, but it proved useless, as the pain shoot through him. Another voice came, higher in pitch..
"Fear not young one... you are safe in our house."
What choice did he have... He couldnt move anyway, so he layed there, vulnerable.
"You have sufered some injuries. It appears you broke you ribs, and Jaw..."
He cut him short gasping out....
" Ribs... not broken... Lungsss..."
The last coming in a hiss. He heard a slight sound of movement, as the person drew closer.
" No your Ribs were broken, that is why you punctured you lungs. The blood coming from such, but we will clean you up. The amazing thing is that you ribs no longer are fractured, even though it is obvious that you just recieved these injuries. I have never heard of such a thing... what happened?"
"The hell... if i know..." He winced, fighting to stay awake... Blood started to trickle once more out of his mouth.
The man moved closer. "Lie still, i will help... But tell me your name... so i may see if i can find out what happened."
He closed his eyes to think... Nothing came to him, the pain growing intense once more. My name... such an easy question.. .but what is it he thought to himself... " Alex.... Alexandar.... "
The figure stopped... " Alexander eh" Turning to the other man he spoke softly.
He faught to hear... but couldn't make out the words... A cough came from deep within, and he screamed in pain... And once more was in the hands of the gods as he layed on the floor.

He awoke once again. He laid still, trying to figure out how long he was out for. He had no concept of time. He had no concept of his past. He breathed a sigh. What had he gotten into. Why was he like this? He stopped. He took another breath, and then another. His hands quickly went to his ribs, as he opened his eyes. The pain.. it was gone... the pain was gone. He opened his jaw to its
fullest extent. It was a little tight from not moving it much, but other than that nothing. The voice broke in.
“Your wounds have been healed. It took us most of the day, but you should be fine now.”
Avery sat up, to look around. He was in a bedroom. The person who spoke sat in a corner, watching him. A window to his right allowed for light to come in, warming the room slightly.
“I guess I should thank you... for fixing me up and all.”
“Its what we do here at the temple. We help those in need. But it appears there is still mystery left to be solved. Do you remember anything? Anything that has happened? No... “ He paused “ I didn’t think so. You were found in an alley and brought here. You were pretty banged up, like you had been in a fight. You gave us a name... do you remember your name?”
Avery sat there for a moment... the flashes of memory going through his brain.. “A.. Alexander...” He stumbled over it.
The man nodded... “ Yes, you said that before. I guess that rules out what we thought. You see the night before we found you there was a big contest. The best hand fighters went to compete. My apprentice went to see the line up of all the fighters.. there was no Alex on the list.”
Avery jumped in, “ Well I should say I wasn’t a part of it. I ain’t ever been in a fight in all my life.”
“Indeed?” The man looked at the young boy. He appeared to be around 20 or so. His body was in prime shape, he knew that. It was obvious he had been fights before. He was to well conditioned, like a gladiator or something. He nodded his head to a corner of the room behind the bed.
Avery spun around to see a man charge him. The mass of robes, heading straight at him with arms outstretched. He had no time to think, he quickly extended his foot into the mans stomach and grabbed his robes. The force of impact knocked them both off the bed, as Avery flipped him over onto the floor. Stabilizing his weight he quickly through down a blow that caught the mans jaw. As he brought his fist down to strike again, his hand got caught.
IT was the master standing over him. His apprenticed laid on the floor his hands crossed in front of his face. Avery looked to the man as he let his hand go
“Indeed.. you have never fought before...” he said with a smile.
Avery backed off, sitting back on the bed... “ I swear it.. never have I fought.”
“Well son... I don’t think I can help you to much anymore. I have healed your wounds, but the greater one, will only take time. I suggest heading to the Arenas. A man of your skill, I am sure you will find something there.”
Avery backed off once more. His head was spinning. What the hell just happened. How did he do that. He looked to his hand, and then the man who was pulling himself off of the floor. He nodded... heading for the door.
“Yeah... I think I might just go to this arena... See what the hell happened...”

He woke up in the late morning, tired from last night. He had taken the advice and went to the Outback. He stayed for a long time enjoying all the fights that took place. Indeed many skilled fighter showed up, and the blood was flying. Yet, he was not one to fight himself. Never before had he been in a fight, but somehow he felt compelled to join in. The adrenaline started as he stepped to
the ring, and several duels later, he was ready to go home.
He shook his head as he left that night. He had done things he never thought was possible. He had protected himself, and held his own. He knew these fighters to be skilled, and yet he fit right there among him... He didn't spend to much time thinking on it though.
He went to the another arena in the early afternoon. This one was in the basement of the Inn. Stepping in he found a few inside, wielding weapons, attacking each other. He was drawn to it... People fighting with swords... He was amazed. Again, as with the last couple of days he was called by a strange name. It seemed that people were either really nice, or really crazy around here. As they either nodded to him... of which he nodded back so as not
to be rude... Or they Called him that name. Crazy indeed. He had already blown up at several people about this, but was now learning to except it. He would have to find out more about what was going on.
He wasn't there long when a lady walked in. He had seen her the other night. It was hard to miss her, as she beat the crap out of a man in the outback. It was the first time he had ever seen that happen. To his astonishment she walked over to him. After polite introductions she sat down to talk. He didn't mind.... thinking he might as well start to make friends. He could tell throughout the entire conversation that something troubled her. A friend
of hers had left, she said. they continued the talk for a while, her caring nature coming out.
"Do you have a place to stay?"
"Naw, I just been at the inn the last couple of days"
She told him of a place to find work.... with a short man named Oakensheild or something of it. He was a Baron whatever that meant. He smiled as he stood up..
"Well thank you Jaycy.... I guess I will see you later tonight at the outback right?"
"Yep... I will give you directions to find Jeffrey then."
He left then, to go look at the city some more. he had only been here by his recollection for around a week or so. There was still much to see and do, and as he walked out, a chill washed over his body... Perhaps only the wind.

Summer slowly entered the Outback, a disturbing note from Jaycy bringing her out on this cold night to search for Avery. She muttered to herself as she waddled down the ramp: her back ached, her ankles throbbed, and she was exhausted from hauling around a belly the size of some Baron's egos. Would this baby ever come?
Jaycy looked up from the ring she was entering with Percy, her eyes tracing meaningfully from Summer to Avery, who was fighting Matt in another ring. Without hesitation, Summer made her way towards Avery's ring, the chairs tumbling where they may as she attempted to thread her bulk through the Outback's tables and patrons.
Avery looked good; his youthful smile flashing as if he were having a good time even as Mat's sweep made him tumble. Summer stood by the ring, watching him intently as she uttered low, "Avery." Avery came up and locked into Mat's arms, trying to spill him on the mat. Rask announced loudly, "Matt and Alex grapple but neither is able to flip the other."
Summer placed a hand on her hip, her eyes traveling to Rask in more than a bit of confusion. Rask glanced to her as she mouthed a whisper to him, "Alex?" Rask shrugged and said, "That's what he told me to call him." Summer just nodded back as Rask confirmed the worst.
Well this was going to be hard. She had to think of something to get him back to the Manor, back to the people who might be able to offer him some protection. Her hand fell to her belly as a small cat leaped up beside her and asked, "Baby?" Summer nodded her own eyes never leaving Avery and Matt. And that is when she got an idea. A crazy wonderful idea.

He stepped into the outback that night, unaware of what was about to happen. It had been a normal day... Well as normal as any day had been for him so far. Again he had met several people who mistook him for another man. Again he had to correct them. He had ventured onto the island that afternoon. He was drawn to it somehow. Stepping through the portal, he smiled taking in the sights. He
knew what happened here... He came prepared. He had spent some time to learn the basic spell, and now wanted to test them out. That afternoon went normal for him with the exception of one rare event.
It was in a match of his.... He saw his opponent flash aside, blades flying out at him. He immediately called upon a shield for protection. Little did he know that these blades would tear through the shield bringing their full power to sting him. He started the chant, the words rolling over his lips with ease. Yet as he finished, he pulled back... no shield was up for him to hide behind. Instead he watched as the trees near the ring shook, and a
fierce wind flew over the ring. The blade on their way froze just inches away, as the wind washed over them. It continued through the ring until it left the other side.
“What the..”
He looked around for an explanation. He surly didn’t do that did he? It was unexplainable to him. Yet, throughout his matches it kept happening. Meteors, wind, water that reflected a perfect image. Once being able to fade out completely. He didn’t know what was going on, but it seemed the spells always came just moments before he was going to get blasted. Alex, dismissed it not knowing just what to think....
Now he was in the Outback though... A familiar surrounding to him, for he was here last night. He smiled to the patrons as he moved over to a table and grabbed some wine. It was soon that Jaycy came in... This was the reason he was here. Hopefully she would give him directions so that he could go looking for a job. He nodded to her even as he asked people to duel.
“Sure Avery. Send us in okay?”
He looked over... what the hell was this guy talking about? He had heard it all day long and now it was starting to get to him. He saw Jaycy quickly step over to him and whisper something.
“Well he sure looks like Avery Shiv Blade," said the man.
“Well My name is Alexander, and if ya don’t start calling me that we are gonna have a problem”
The man sighed, and gave his name... Percy. From what he could gather he was new around here, more used to using a sword. They stepped to the ring and commenced. It was over before it started. Alex stepped from the ring, with the victory. He stepped over to Jaycy. After several words she gave him the directions to go see the man called Oakenshield. He thanked her for the opportunity, and then went back to fighting. The night was going fine,
fights here, fights there, and then it was during one match that it all started. He was in the middle of fighting Matt, when he could feel the eyes of the woman on him. He continued the match, always feeling the gaze from time to time. He dare not look over yet... one slip in concentration and he could wind up on the ground. The match ended, his smile prevailed as he took another victory. If only he had some training.. he would be unstoppable. He was
so new to this, but was able to hold his own against some of the best. He stepped over to the edge of the ring, to look at the lady. She was fat... well pregnant really, but she stood their looking at him. He moved to speak...
“Can I help ya miss? I mean hell, ya been staring at me all this match.”
She waved to him, smiling slightly. Alex looked to Jaycy, who now stood beside the lady. She whispered into her ear, and then drew back to speak to him as he got down from the ring.
“Alex, this is Summer Oakenshield.... Jeff's wife. She's the one who has a job for you. Her and Jeff.”
Alex quickly apologized for his actions. This was his chance to get a job, and already he had acted rude. He held out his hand, continuing the apology.
“Alex, please come home this night?” She spoke the words as if she had known him all his life. He turned back a bit growing more confused. Jaycy and her continued to whisper to each other even as he stood there. He looked down to see she still held his hand.
“Look miss.... you must have me mistaken for someone... I think she knows who..” He pointed to Jaycy. She had mentioned something about this before. Something about a man named Avery. He continued, “She was telling me about him earlier.”
Summer broke in, and said softly, “Nae luv, I know who ya are, an' tha' ya be luved.”
He looked her over. Who was she, what did she want. How did she know him. He started to pull his hand away. She asked for his trust. Trust? What was she talking about... “Is this the way you hire all your workers?” He continued to look at her, confused as all get out. She asked for his support. She asked him to help her home. His head starting spinning. Perhaps this was his chance to get a job? He had no clue. He looked to Jaycy who had got him
into this, and she only offered a smile. Then it all started. His world was about to get flipped upside down and inside out. What happened would go down as one of the craziest nights ever.........

It happened fast, like the flash of lightning. Summer went into contractions. Her body shuddered as he looked upon her. She was ready to give birth. He wanted to back up, not wanting to be involved, after all he was just introduced to her. She was asking to go home, but Alex was frozen still. Was this really happening? Jaycy then asked for his help. They needed him his strength to bring her
home. Panicking slightly he stared at her, and never saw the other two approach. The girl came up swiftly to Summer’s side. The other, followed, staying back a bit, staring at him. It was the words of the first that brought him back into reality, but put him in another. He looked over to her as she spoke to Summer. Her face was all to familiar, as he immediately knew. It was the face he saw when he first opened his eyes after his beating. It was the
face of Jona. He left behind all the shouts, and pleads. His eyes looking straight at her.
“Its you..” He remembered now. This was the woman that caused his pain. She was the one that bent over him as he looked up. This was the woman he ran away from. It was her, standing right there. He never heard there pleads to hold up Summer. He never even saw Summer as she fell from Jaycy’s arms. He only stared at Jona. It was the heavy weight that snapped him back into reality as Summer’s body fell right onto his. His arms instinctively
grabbing her he left behind the thoughts.
“Oh dear god... Are you okay?” He just now realized the situation they were in.
“Alex, can you get her home?”
“Yeah whatever.. as long as you get some help.” He held on with all his strength. He could hear the ladies moving, making plans.... where to go. He just held on... Jona crossed over near him grabbing on. The others crowded around... he could feel Summer’s body shiver... And then the outback was gone.
“Help me Damn it,” he shouted, and then paused as he looked around. They arrived in a library. Immediately, the girls spread apart and ran around looking to get the supplies necessary.
“Avery, to the couch, please.” He had a feeling they were talking to him, and so he moved over, pausing only for a second at the name. He laid her down upon the couch, and pulled back to look at the room. Alex saw another man. He spoke out, but it got lost in all the confusion. He started to back away, but someone told him to hold her hand. Again he spoke... telling him he didn’t know her, he shouldn’t be here. He wanted to leave. His hand though
stayed, and slipped back to hold her. Again he looked to the man they were calling G.
“Your wife... You aren't the husband here?”
“Uhh, noooo..” The man replied to himself. He had the look of someone that had just gotten some news... Again he hadn’t heard the question Alex had asked. Jona looked to him.
“Och, now calmly tell me wh' 'appened, aye?”
“Hell I don’t know... She.. her... Bam... Who the hell are you guys??” He was so confuse at this point, he didn’t see the other two men walk in. He shouted once more. “You’re not the Husband?”
“No, I'm not the Husband!”

“No, I'm not the Husband!”
He looked over to the other two. Having had a short description he saw Jeff. “Him??” Indeed it was, as he came over to his wife’s side. Alex backed off.. only to be handed a wet cloth, and be pushed back in. He put it on her head, as they planed out what to do. Upstairs.... that’s what.. and the next thing he knew he was being dragged upstairs. When they got their the crowded into the bedroom... He noticed a woman holding his hand. The woman
that had pulled him upstairs. “Who the hell are you?” He asked to Tay. Her reply with some sadness it seemed was, a friend. He turned back to Summer, as she shouted out.
“Someone get Avery.” Again the name was said, but he didn’t catch it. He was pushed forward, just as Jona looked to him, asking for a knife. He reached down to pull one from his Boot. Jona handed him some alcohol.
“Pour th' o'er th' knife an 'old it by th' 'andle, aye, an await when Ah need it, aye?” He did just that... that was something he could do. Taylara helped him by holding the candle. Together they worked as the birthing came near. Jona herself working to get this baby into the world safely. His head starting spinning though.. this had all happened so fast.
“Ya'll be okay Avery...ya can do this.” Were the words that came from Tay.
“Stop calling me Avery!!!!” He blew up at her. He had no time to continue though as her water broke at that moment. He twisted his head away, fighting not to purge. He grew dizzy. Always though the hands were there, steadying the knife, and helping him out. “ Oh God she is gonna die.”
“Nae Avery....she'll be fine,” said Tay. He looked at her, looked right into her eyes.
“Alex... Alex... it's alex..” Mumbling it, trying his best to convince her. The baby came. The knife was passed over... and he let out a long breath. Revolted by it all, he started to stumble back, but was in Tay’s arms. The panic gone now for a brief second, until it was obvious, there was another one coming. “Why me?” He grabbed the knife and wiped the blood off on his pants. Moving it back to the flame, waiting for this to finish. After some
time it did, and two boys were brought into the world. The mother and Father left to give the names.
“Tha' be ta first Sebastian Leto,” Said summer. Then she spoke the second name.” Avery Jeffrey,” But Jeff spoke too.
“Ta second be Darian Kyle luv?”
“Avery Darian?” she said looking to him.
“Ya like ta Avery eh luv?”
He pulled back silently thinking what the hell is up with these people and that name, Avery.
“Aye me likes ta Avery luv”
“Mayhaps ta Kyle done make fer a better middle name luv”
“Avery Kyle Oakenshield” She finally stated.
Alex turned to the door. He felt out of place being here. After all this all started because he was looking for a job. He moved to go, and suddenly looked up to see some of the Women blocking his way. They weren’t going to let him go he realized.
“Look... I have done enough here... Don’t ya think. I just want to leave.. I don’t really need a job.” He moved to the door. Tay was standing there blocking the way. Jona made one last attempt to draw him over asking him to get her something. Alex looked to her, and then to Tay. His eyes almost wishing her to move, he spoke. “Move now!” She stepped to the side letting him pass. He walked slowly... Sliding past her. As he did he looked into her
eyes, and spoke softly..
“Alex... Alex...” He then left down the stairs, running as fast as he could. He had to get away, and figure out what just happened. He ran back to his Room at the inn, opening the door, and jumping on the bed. He was safe... at last something was normal.
