Madame Silvertree
With mine gifts, leaping from cliffs ist a most enjoyable pasttime. I thank thee for the reminder. I wast nae aware thee were so solicitous of mine enjoyments. I must say I find thine jottings vastly amusing if lacking in wit, insight, intelligence or common sense.
<< Those who know me, know my mind on this challenge. I find -any- who challenge quickly upon the heels of a title holder's victory, especially the Overlord, to be in the wrong, regardless of who they are and what they have done. >>
My, my, Madame. Wrong? Thee feel "any" who do present a swift challenge, "wrong". A most amusing comment, Madame. Certes thee wouldst then find His Majesty Ian Ryan MacKenzie, "wrong", ast well ast Xenograg kathu-Darelir, Siera Redwin, Feadur Feamegil, thine "good friend", Gnimish Gnimoi, His Grace, Duke Leto Covington, Lord Dalamar Ar'Daumon, Percival Marchand duClermont, Martigan Crow, Lord Harvest, Heath
Duncan Connor MacCormack, Ulath Fici, Juan Sanchez Villalobos Ramirez, Jeffrey Oakenshield, Skyler Jackson Chamberland, G'nort, Espelande G'neesmacher Dragoon Talanador, Adeema Maeax, Ellisa Morgan, Coindextint Dexter Montoya, the Black Mage, Moralitor, and certes countless others. Prithee, Madame, what do thee consider "right"?
Thou seems to hold that "regardless of who they are and what they have done", the mere issuance of what thee term "swift challenge" ist immediately condemned by thee ast being"wrong". How utterly droll, Madame, though it certes speaks volumnes of thine shallowness. Perhaps thee might consider that leap, Madame. With luck thee might land upon thine pate, though in all likelihood that would do ought to improve thine intelligence, though doubtless
it wouldst do thee little if anna physical harm.

I did not know there were such duelers named "Adeema" or "Coindextint" Jona. I guess I shouldn't mind as long as you don't call me Bar, Car, Far, Tar, War, Spar, Star, Czar, or Par. I'm one of the people who should be on that list as well, probably; challenging for each holder of the tenth ring within, at most, a month and a half of them obtaining the ring.
All in light humor,

Personally,
I think Jonalyn and Drakewyn are secret lovers trying to maintain some sort of facade(sic) to cover up their torid love affair. Or maybe the two of them going through menopause at the same time in the same vicinty has triggered some weird animal geriatic behavior.
In other words these two crusty old broads should just get naked together and let's see what happens.

If those people challenged immediately after the one they challenged either just won, or just defended a title. Then I agree that they were in the wrong.

You don't like it, stick your pen in your ear.

E,
Do you ever have dreams of nice men in white suits, small padded rooms, and straight jackets?
No?
Well, you're not prophetic, then.
Teasingly,

Once more, with feeling.
Lady Starfare... find thyself a cliff and leap from it.
Anyone at all, no matter how august their personage, no matter their fame, no matter their excuses... Anyone who would offer challenge within one week, or less in many cases, of a title holder's successful challenge or defense, is wrong in doing so.
The most recent, and blatant, case of this was the Renegade Baron Cristian de Oro's challenge to then Overlord Eros DeBurgo. The Baron indicated he would give challenge before the last exchange was done in the match between the Overlord and Baron Favre... and was issued only two days later. And would have been issued sooner, I have no doubt, if the Baron would have been able to do so.
If anyone I have ever called friend, including Baroness Ashleana, does this sort of thing... especially when they say that one of their main reasons for challenging is based upon that person's absenteeism from the Arena... then I will tell them I feel they are in the wrong.
Lady Drake, aka the Gryphon.

Copy posted on the cork.
As the Renegade Baroness has not responded to my other question. I offer this simple idea.
...In your original challenge you stated that you had asked to be challenged. I have found a worthy warlord who would challenge you for your title. You can take an opportunity to now rescind your challenge and meet this warlord, thus allowing it to be your own choice and not a test of your worth in mine eyes.
Many may say this is an unfair thing I ask, that would I do this. To that I answer in advance, I have. Upon earning the Yellow Opal in DoF my worth was questioned and I did immediately seek to be challenged and within an hour of gaining title I met Tarl Cabot in the match. I lost that match, yet gained some measure of dignity that was helpful when I did gain the Stewardship of the Diamond. I offer you this as a way to draw a parallel between your
current situation as a Baroness and mine as an Opal, as a preamble to greater things.
You then would retain your right to challenge and could challenge me after a successful defense. You have already rectified your record that many in the community were opposed to, why not rectify your words concerning a challenge request and actually make it happen?
Just food for thought. Contact me if this appeals to you.

I appreciate your ability to discern universal right and wrong for the masses. Since most individuals, other than yourself, are unable to decided right and wrong for themselves, it is comforting to know that with your oracular wisdom you can relate unto us the nature of the universe. I shall sleep soundly tonight,

Baron Lucian...
Whilst Jonalyn is leaping from the cliff... hurry thyself behind her, please.
It was quite obvious that I was posting a clairification and elucidation on a previous posting... If you truely believe I desire to decide what is right and wrong for everyone, then you can join the others who believe this.
I am astounded at the leaps of intuition people have about my motivations and my words. It seems that a small group of people have the amazing ability to take my every word and find the thousand hidden meanings they want to find there.
Then again, when you wish to believe the worst of someone, you will find any excuse you can to tear them down...
Lady Drake, aka the Gryphon.
