Attention Warlord's, Warlasses and Warcritters of DoS!! The Time 'as come fer the next Warlord's Tournament. Now that I 'ave yer attention, on to the good stuff.....
Sharpen yer blade's and 'one yer minds....

As it stands...This is goin' to be a closed registration tourney. A total o' 40 warlord's will have slots open to register. After this amount is gained, there will be a standby list o' no more than 10 standbys. This is also a double elemination style tourney.

The tourney time is slated fer the end o' the cycle, the days are as follows: Monday the 31st o' May and Teusday the 1st o' June startin' at 9:00pm est and endin' time depends on how well things go. The tourney will be in the Annex with the Arena being used fer ana overflow if needed.

Rankings and Standings will be based on the close of the listings as o' Friday the 28th o' May at 9:00pm est. Registration will close at 40 + the 10 standbys or the 28th also at the latest if all 40 slots not filled.

The prize to the successful warlord shall be an intercession free shot at the overlord. A worthy prize fer a worthy warlord....

Important Note: Please try to be at least 15-20 minutes ahead o' start time to allow fer verification o' participants. The tourney will start as close to nine as possible and there may NOT be a grace period, dependin' on the mood o' the mob. Also bear in mind that no shows that were matched up may or may not be allowed in after start time and that any standbys may be randomly inserted to make the pairings that are vacant.

All participants, please send a missive to 'old yer place in the tourney. All entrants will receive a letter o' confirmation after I 'ave verified your place.Verification of rank will be accordin' to the Standings for the weekend o' the 28th. Only confirmed Warlord's are eligible. If ya are registered and are not ranked warlord come the 29th, then ya will be removed from the roster.

Please respond to RDI Poison, Tourney Co-ordinator, for any questions and registration.

Respectfully

Tourney Cordinator,

Just a curious question, but when will a format other then Double Elemination be used for a Warlord's Tourney. And when will a Warlord's Tourney ever be on days other then Monday and Tuesday? Many people over time have voiced opinions wanting other then the two provided norms, and I was wondering when the sport would show some variety to events? just a query, not a complaint or a criticsm.

Well, here's a thought. No one has to like it, but it's just a thought.

To make the tourney more interesting. There should be a ring for takes. Since there is none vacant, it should be likes this.

2nd place winner get to challenge a baron of his choice unless 1st place winner wants that prize.
1st place winner is Vice Versa. Though gets to choose to challenge.

Opinions please:

Perhaps the top three placers can choose to have their duels count in the warlord rankings as sort of a consolation prize?

I hear ya Ecore....there has been considerable debate about this bein' on Monday and Teusday nights. First at 'and...most callers fer the DoS pull shifts on the weekends and it is 'ard enuff ta get 'em ta come in on an off night. Ta accomodate the amount o' warlords that enter into the tourney, this time ya should note that the registration has moved up ta 40 from I think it was 32, there needs ta be enuff officials ta call wi'out the
tourney lasting 3-4 nights.
It isnt a bad idea ta merhaps change it about ta offer others I guess a chance at makin' the times. If I handle the next tourney, then merhaps I can take a vote to alter the nights, but, therin leads ta another problem...the Annex is the room of choice fer the tourney and the overflow mostly runnin' off into the Arena. This could present a problem on regular duelin' nights.
I do so appreciate the input on it....I 'ad questioned the callers as ta preferred times and dates and this was the concensus I got from them before the missives on it. Perhaps when the tourney is o'er, we should set in place a possible...um...well, let the duelers say their peace on it and see what the majority say. Wi' the number o' duelers in the DoS e'er growin' perhaps its an inconveince fer some on these nights, but as I said, I 'ave ta take
inta consideration different factors. Still, yer thoughts are noted.

Hmmm...

I recall one Tourney that was on a Friday-Saturday. I recall it, because I was unable to call for the second day.
I can't recall if there's ever been a single-elimination Tourney... but then, that does go against the idea of "anyone can beat anyone on the right day." If you go by that idea, wouldn't a single-elimination Tourney favor the luckiest duelers, not the best ones?
Not that I care... I'm not going to be dueling in this Tourney. I've found calling preferable.

There was a single elimination at least once. I cant remember when exactly. As was a Friday/Sat tourny and the callers were hard to find.

I agree with Drey's idea that there should also be a chance for duelers to get an immediate chance to challenge a baron.
I also think that there should be a minimum number of duels during the cycle fought to enter the tourney. It is disappointing to see people who take part in the community get eliminated from a tourney because someone who slinks off somewhere for a few months happens to beat them.

Just my opinion on a couple issues.

Folks,

I have a small question. Why are the servants of the Tourney Coordinator sending tourney mail back to the senders?

Actually,

Most of the time the Overlord offers an intercession free challenge to the 1st and 2nd place winner...but they don't have to, most do. Anyway, about that Baron challenging scenario..I think that's a good idea..hey, I'm all for it.

Hey, there's only been what... one tournament without the option of a Baron's Title out there boyyo... and that was when Dal was king, and he hated that title that he wanted to give it away so he made that offer. It hasn't been a re-occuring occurance boyyo.

Unless it's happened since then, which I damn well think it hasn't.

I have an idea. Why don't we let the officials make the rules and do the officiating, and we as duelers duel? Just a crazy thought. Tradition can sometimes be quite a pleasant and fair thing.

It's a lose-lose situation, Phil. We are entitled to voice our opinions on issues on the board. The officials don't have to act on any one of our opinions, but once they tell us to shut up, quite a few duelers will bite their head off for not letting us put in our two cents.
Either you listen to opinions, or you listen to anger. Fact of the matter is, people just won't (and in my eyes shouldn't) shut up.
It's just the way things are.

In fact, after all that has been posted in the past few weeks, this has probably been the most mellow in regards to debate. I'm sure if it would please you, one or two people can just throw in some tactless remark and get the fire burning more.
Simply,
