This is rediculous...What a bunch of rubbish. I went through all hundred of these posts, I got answers from two of them...the rest were just stupid complaints and whinnings such as, 'Why don't they get to do stuff with the ring?"...Well...I don't completely agree with the ruling of wearing the ring, but whining isn't going to do anything...

Oh...and I missed the ruling on wether or not the tournament duels count towards yer record or not if someone would care to enlighten me...

How idiotic can it get? Baron Oakenshield set up a tourney for the lower ranks....and I haven't heard a single person from the lower ranks whining...only warlords and above...why is that? Jealousy? Sounds absurd, but its all I can think that would apply to the sniveling complaints on the boards. So a commoner, or Grand Master, since they're also in the tourney, is allowed to be baron for two weeks...its something
to duel for since it will obviously go down in the histories...so what if its not permanent? Its a shot at temporary glory for the lower ranks...and we'll all be warlords and barons someday too...its not an unattainable rank by any means....you people act like Baron Oakenshield's handing over his WoL record to a commoner for the sake of upsetting the precious ego's of RhyDin's higher ranks.

Since when did this tourney become solely about the prizes at hand, Agrenish? This tournament is not about becoming a Baron for two weeks.
The point is to let the rank impaired duelers to experience a tournament such as one that we Warlords experience. This is to improve their skills and let them feel what it is like to be important and recognized, and feel what it is like to be a part of the DoS community. Overlords, Warlords, and Barons aren't the only duelers around here. We are not the only "leaders" in this community. Everyone has a voice and everyone has a sword. Since
when did it become a crime to duel amongst one's peers to better themself? Warlords fight for peer wins to be the best in the rankings and for the tournament, and to be able to challenge a higher rank. Why can't others have a tournament to see who is the best as well? I feel honored to be a part of a House that is sponsoring a tournament for someone to be the best commoner/swordsman/M@A/GM out there.
I commend my good friend Jeffrey for inspiring the idea and putting all of the pieces together. He deserves a round of applause from all of us to actually show some care about someone besides himself around here. You are entitled to think what you want, I will not argue with that. But is it really necessary to publicize your feelings about such a good hearted event? Or are you just trying that much harder to make yourself look like a bigger
jackass?

Dear these people's god, forgive me for my failures.

Now onto you... first off, the little rankers don't need a tournament. Why should they get a tournament? Because they need a taste of what it's like to be a Warlord? Damnit, that's what being a Warlord is! The rank is proof that you have dealt in some skill well enough to win more so than you have lost, and to maintain that skill. Once you have proven your worth, that is when you are allowed the extras that come alongside it.

What do you have to work for when you give the little people everything the big boys have?

Give 'em tournaments. Give them Peer Wins... give them the overlooking of true skill ((IOW: Extra Fancies when no "skill" was gained)). If you keep this crap up, you might as well give them a group of their own to fight for called the Jr. Barons Club.

Impaired my ass. You impair them by giving them what they don't have instead of making them work for it. The only reason why I argued for them to get the full rights of the Barons is because... if you guys are going to do something stupid, you might as well do it as stupidly as you can.

You still cling to that everlasting beliefe that this is a community. I am not trying to scorn this damn event for no reason. I see no good in it.

Thieves earn their money... but only the best thieves become rich. This little tournament is no differant, if you can figure that simile out.

Agrenish,
I never said that other ranks need a "taste" of what it is like to be a Warlord. You get it with the work you put in to the sport. I just said that it will help the become more experienced.

You see no good in bringing duelers together to better themselves in a tournament amongst their peers? Well, then there must be no purpose of a tournament for Warlord's either. Hell, there's just no good in dueling at all. Why even bother? All it does is cause people like you to bitch and moan about how something positive is no good. So why don't you just cry me a river about how it's pointless to have a tourney like this, because you know what?
Nobody cares. You can complain and bash it all you want, but it'll get you nowhere, because neither I nor anyone else cares about a harmless little wuss such as yourself with dreams of one day amounting to something more than putting down people that you don't even know for no reason.

I didn't bother reading after this because you didn't read all of my post.

The entire point, is the prize and the context of this entire event. Anyone can have any tournament in their backyard for experience. That's not the point of this little get-together is it?

Most likely not, Sartan, since the dueler never technically won the ring from Jeff. Maybe Turi wants to mention that for a while, Jeff and Avery/Alex handed the winners the rings as a result of winning a tourney they sponsored.
The last one to win a commoner's tourney was not mentioned in the overlord's histories, as being honorary overlord for a week.

But yer posts about Ben Dover, and da rest which only happened ta disrupt my organizational posts don't deserve a respectful reply. I've given you plenty of respect BRK, because you use ta deserve it, despite always actin' like a jerk. Now yer just like Zaradda; yer still a jerk, but don't deserve an ounce

To Jeff and all,

I promised to wash my hands of this but I have to write one last comment about this.

First off, I don't know where this opinion that I defaced the boards came from, it's not fair to just up an accuse me of something that noone has any proof over, it's below someone of Jeffs "Class". I've seen the posts and they do look alot like my writting, but that proves nothing. If you come up with conclusive proff that I or someone else did that, I'm sure they'd own up. Until then, stop looking like a raving lunatic and get on with your life.

Secondly and most importanly, and I want you all to read this,

I made my comeback a month ago in an overlord intercession match between Jaycy and Former overlord Dex, I ended up facing Jesse and got beat pretty easily. That seemed like the end of the story but it doesn't tell the truth in the least.


Why did I get involved in a match that had no real meaning to me? Simple, I was told that Jeff and I were finally going to get the chance to fight in a match of historic and political importance. I didn't come back because I wanted Jaycy tested, althought that was an added bonus. I came back because I was told that it was going to be me and you Jeff, two of the best in a match to remember.

It's a shame that Dex pixked this time to leave because only he and few other people knew why I jumped at the chance. Yes, I was asked to come back, I didn't go to Dex and beg him to step in. Good old Dex thought it would be good for the community that I come back and try to add some excitement to a sport that seems to be on its deathbed. I did it because I love the sport and the people, sorry you feel I don't belong.

I don't know about how other people feel, but for me to change my plans and return date to come to an overlords match specifically to duel you Jeff, is a big deal. Your the first damn person in this sport I've ever bent over backwards to meet, and you never had clue one about it. When I looked at you after the match was over and told you from the heart that it should have been us, you and I, and epic match for the record books, you looked at me with
distaste, completely disrespected me and walked out.

I may not have any grounds for talking about giving or receiving respect, I may not be an "impact" here, I may not even belong dueling with you people anymore, but I will anyways kid.

Jeff, you want what I want, you try your hardest, but niether of our words are law here. Sometimes you seem to loose sight of who you are and act so much like what you hate in me that it makes my heart ache. If I need to do some growing up, then maybe you do too, ever think of that?

This horse is dead, I won't beat it anymore. Good luck with your tournament.

The odd thing is, is that your duel with Jesse will probably be more widely remembered than if you and Jeff stepped in. Personally I enjoyed that duel more than the title match itself. Oh well..
