The woman chortles softly, tacking a note to the cork.
Val
Ah mos' certes recall th' old Questrion Challenge, an unofficial event th' thee an' th' lovely Alaisia 'eld in th' Castle environs. Ah also recall mos' clearly th' th' results 'o th' event were placed 'pon th' ancient cork. Ah also recall thee rantin' th' thee felt thineself slighted, an settin' th' fair lady Alaisia ta th' fore, whilst thou didst take ta broodin' at Questrion. Thee dinna fight agin th' official community ta 'old th' Questrion
Challenges, for they werena 'eld in th' basement. Ast well Ah recall th' once t'was made clear th' thee werena tryin' ta make claim th' th' Questrion Challenge wast an "official event" thee nor Luthien nor th' fair Lady Alaisia met anna further difficulties.
Let us nae fergit thee aire a political animal, Valmion, e'en in thine elder years. On a side note, Ah also clearly recall thou makin' a promise th' Luthien ta stand ast yuir second A promise thou took back ta hae th' Bishop stand in th' place 'o Honor. Luthien wast 'erald 'o Question at th' time, an' th' slight wast among 'er reasons fer leavin' thine House ta take refuge wi' the Keeper 'o th' Land, Mamusia.
Yet thee didst make a most wise choice when thee didst revive thine House, eschewing th' winged creature wh' wast mos' oft workin' fer both thine 'ouse's an thine own downfall.
Informatively,
Jonalyn Nenshen Starfare
PS: Ast may hae slipped thine memory, Valmion, th' sorceress, Legendazna, sadly nae drawin' breath 'pon th' plane 'o existence anna longer, wast th' winner 'o a previous Commoner's Tourney, an' official event, an' didst 'old th' 'onorary title 'o Overlord wi' all th' goes wi' it, save th' she dinna face th' prospect 'o a challenge. Perhaps tis a bit 'o rivalry t'wixt thee an th' Senior Baron Jeffrey Oakenshield wh' be peepin' through in yuir
missive, Lord 'o Questrion?

Valmion,
Only you would see my tournament as a means ta personal gain. Surely you jest. Are you still upset I was part of yer house breaking again, at least in da dueling rings; perhaps it remains firm between yerself, yer son, and da mage in Question. Certainly yer family is da only ones who remain by yer side in our current times. Instead of harboring a grudge against one who seeks ta better da sport he participates in, maybe ya should get off yer old
arse and do somethin' yerself.

Valmion,
You certainly are a bitter old man. You always feel a need ta bring up my duel with Moralitor as if I care. It was *one* duel, who can't win *one* duel? Moralitor didn't hold it very long either, and I'm baron again, so what is yer point? Do you really believe Moralitor's winning one duel proved he's better dan me? I doubt it.
You want ta hurt me so very badly, its almost amusing. But realize I won't ever be hurt by one such as yerself. I have so very much more dan ya have, and its something ya can't take away. I have a loving, beautiful wife, 3 wonderful children, a House of friends, and enjoyment in da duel of swords. Nothing ya can possible say will ever change me, and yer just makin' yerself look bad with yer elitest opinions. Earn it? Earn what a rank? Why
don't you go earn some class...some respect. As fer me just tryin' ta look good, I don't need a tourney fer dat, only you would be so shallow ta use community service ta makes oneself look better.

::just laughs out loud at the response::
If you didn't whine your way into some offical prizes for your tournament Jeff, you were scared you would have nothing, no shows. It showed in your whining little ways. And please, do not speak to me of class Lord Baron, he who casts insults as if they were handouts to the poor. Perhaps we will meet one day Jeff, perhaps for the very ring you wear, and then perhaps we can settle the duel issue, he who lost to my six straight cuts once, five to
zip.

Well damn Jeffrey, you think for everyone in RhyDin now, or did you whip up a fast poll? Figures I would hear such a statement coming from you. The day will soon come that you will be able to back up these words Jeff, believe me.
Cheers,
Valmion

Valmion,
What you don't seem ta realize is I could care less. I speak fer everyone? Nah, just tryin' ta get under yer skin. Who won our first duel? I did. Would I hunt yer thrust in 6 straight rounds in a real match? Nah. You take single duels MUCH too seriously. I guess you have ta at 15 WoLs, don't wanna lose rank, its understandable. Me? I play ta have fun, and I always do. Also, I've held my barons ring fer almost a year and a half now, should I
lose it you really believe I'll have regrets? I've accomplished everything I ever wanted in DoS, I don't feel a need ta prove myself ta anybody, and I *certainly* won't worry if great Valmion believes he's better.

Sir Valmion,
If your missives are being pulled, why not simply rewrite them so that they do not violate any of these "Kings Laws" you speak off?
At your service,

She found the place. Quite a stack--so many parchments nailed one atop the other! Surely the tournament, so widely spoken, was full.
She sighed. She had given Xavier and Simini the start of a promise, but surely all these missives--and the stack was thick with them--had left no room for late entries. But curiosity won out even if hope of fighting had not, and so she read...
And blinked.
Holy gods. Hardly a signature upon the lists and there was squabbling about the prize. (And what prize need there be, but the honor of having won?) Hardly a man--or a woman--for the sport of the duel, but contention aplenty upon the humble page: technicality and pettiness, wins and rank.
As though wins made real men.
She laughed, unbelieving. But in time, the laughter died, as she pulled one by the rare one the names to fight from the mass of arguments--kind and honorable Xavier, and others she did not recognize... amidst the mire of insult, of bickering.
In the end, she tore them away, those loud and scrawling posts, and left them on the floor--to play the litter to the inn cats, mayhap--as she neatly pinned the entries back up.
A new one stood the top:
My Lord Baron,
I salute your effort; it's well of you to do it.
Gladly I enter, and cast challenge to my peers upon this list. To those who offer contention here, I say this: here is my gauntlet--I beg you, take it up or be silent. If superior rank should prevent our meeting in these rings, then by all means seek me elsewhere or at least rest your arguments in favor of those contests which require you.
I am,
Banda
