Official Acceptance for the Challenges to the Sixth

Post by DoS Archive » Mon Oct 04, 2004 10:22 am

The following is as it was when sent to the appropriate parties:

I, Cassius Gaius Maximius, reigning Baron of the Sixth, on this, the 19th day of the 5th month of the 1999th year in the Christian era, and the 3 month anniversary of my winning the Sixth, hereby accept the Challenges set forth by the established,
honorable, and highly skilled Warlords, Lupton est Dracoern, Emperor of the Dracoern Empire, and Lord Daegarth Mithmellon, Patriarch of the Mithmellon clan,
and ruler of the Pheonix Towers.

I have elected to face the Challenges of both warriors on the same eve. As tradition and law both dictate, since the Warlord Lupton was the first to lay Challenge, I shall face him in the ring first that night. In the event that I should defeat Lupton to defend my Barony, I shall duel Warlord Mithmellon instantly afterwards.

My desired date for Challenge is Friday, the 28th of May, but this is not set in stone, and I will be in contact with the Challengers to determine a date and time that is beneficial to the three of us. The venue shall be the Annex. I shall also be in contact with the Challengers on the subject of an offical for the matches that is also agreeable to all three of us. My particulars shall be as they always are: I shal duel under the colors of House
Dragoon Talanador, and under the banner of Imperial Rome: A two headed eagle, holding bundles of arrows in it's talons, surrounded by a half circle of olive wreath, underneath it the Latin letters "S P Q R" inscribed in gold. I shall duel with my gladius, Imperator. My Lady of Honor shall be as always, my gorgeous and beloved wife, Laylla Angelique Maximius. My Second shall be decided at a later date.

Duel with Skill, Honor, and Valor, Lupton and Daegarth. I look forward to seeing
you on the field.

Two for one. Don't get cocky there Cass, remember one will watch while the other is in the ring.

Cas,

If you do make it past both of these men, expect my challenge shortly.

I wish all three of you the best of skill.

Wow. Cletus is a big man. You may think you're oh so honorable along with Lupton and Daegarth. But we all can see through the black and white into the true color, it's all about title. And I myself, I agree totally with that. A little bash here and there, but you Cletus, I doubt you have a reason. And if ya did, the reason being, ya just don't like him. Lemme tell you, you're then
a hypocrite.

Adding to that missive in which I forgot,

You believe in honor Cletus, too bad ya can't live up to it, push over.

Ron,

I am not one to speak for Cletus, but I do not see how any of this was called for. He merely stated a fact. How do you know he has no reason? I for one know that he does have a reason. I do not know why I post this though, because I am sure you will just respond to it by talking more nonsense.

You're as dumb as your brother Magnus, if not dummer. But to say the most, Cletus is an impudent child. Has there been one cycle since he made warlord when he hasn't challenged? Why is that smart guy? Because the most simplest faulter causes the man to challenge? Yay. Go Cas.

Strangely enough, I find myself in agreement... at least partially... with Ron.
Is Cletus so afraid of losing the chance to challenge for this cycle... which ends at the end of the month, by the way... that he won't enter the challenge queue?
Even if Cas should loose before dueling Cletus... surely Cletus could gather another ten peer wins in a relatively short time.
As it stands, he'll have to rush to get his challenge in before the cycle ends... should Cas defeat both challengers.
If you have issue with someone of titled rank... challenge and be done with it. 'Tis near the end of the cycle, after all.

Excuse me, Ron, but when did you ever need a reason to challenge? If you read the rules, the only thing required to challenge are valid peer wins and eligibility of the Warlord and Baron. If he challenges just because he doesn't like him, that's reason enough. If I kiss your arse just because I don't like you, that's reason enough too. And by the way, the shirt thing has been played out. You can quit now.

Simply,
Phil

Ron,

I won't even bother anwsering you. Your not worth my time.

Drake,

I don't enter the que for a few reasons...

1. Why waste the peer wins?
2. Cas has asked my not to enter the que. I told him that I was going to challenge for his ring even before Lupton pressed challenge. After Daegarth entered his challenge, Cas asked me not to issue, so I have not.
3. I have no burning desire to wiegh the man down with outstanding challenges, I have a little more respect for him than that.

I seem to recall you once stating your intent to challenge for a ring. You could have pressed at that time, but you chose not to just as I choose not to now. I see nothing different.

'If you have issue with someone of titled rank... challenge and be done with it'

I could have said the same to you.

::Tacks up one last thing under number 3::

4. I also lack the adequate peer wins at this time, but you should already know that. That alone would be a good reason not to press challenge right now.

Cletus,

Drake did have an issue. She did issue challenge. And she won.

Hope that clears you up a bit.

I think Cletus' point G, was that Drake issued an intent to challenge, just as Cletus issued an intent to challenge recently. Granted, Drake was with child (I pray to God Cletus is not under the same circumstances), but I think that was the point he was trying to make.
There's nothing wrong with issuing an intent to challenge, is what Cletus is getting at, and it's how I see it. Drake was telling him that instead of issuing an intent, to challenge and let it be done with.
Helpfully, hopefully,
