Ranks

I would like to lodge a complant about the ranks. They are almost never posted before Thursday. This can be really distressing. We have Wednesday night dueling, but no ranks to be able to say how good we did the week before. I just want to know one thing. What is darn hard about getting the ranks up in 3 days? (( Monday morning-Wednesday Night))

One- The ranks are not due out until Thursday. If they are up before then you should be thankful.

Two- What is so hard about it? How about the fact that there are hundreds of duels called over the dueling week? The standings keeper has to wait until all the officials have made up their reports, then oganize them, check them for errors, incorporate them into the standings that already exist, check for errors again and then write them up where all can see.

Would you rather she simple paste them up out of order and incomplete?

How about thanking her for doing such a time consuming job, plus calling, for such ingrateful little children?

But if you were to do that, you may lose the right to whine and cry. Go home boy and whine to your mother, she is the only one that needs to listen with a patient ear.

Most sincerely,

I just wanted to gripe about something, that seemed like the best think to gripe about. Previously the ranks were out by Wednesday night, but i haven't seen that since dueling on Tuesday was cancel. And yes I do know that there are lots of duels to account for and the like, I happen to know that Gryphn gets it done on Monday most of the time. The person i am annoyed with is Thorn for not putting them
up asap.

Aspen,

Your logic makes no sense and you're blinded by stupidity. Listen, she awaits reports from all callers, she has to set them up alphabetically (including the duels and the standings), she has to add up wins and losses (and ties), and she has to put with your complaints. You want to try it? And also, she has no due date, she'll put'em up whenever she wants and if you're worried about your stupid rank. Go out and duel, and win for the love of God. You
don't need any fancy flourishes to prove your skills.

Now considering you are new, (I'm newer than him...) mistakes do happen. Just stop your complaining.

I really don't mean to offend anybody by the following statement, but if you don't like my opinion and experiences...

<<<<Two- What is so hard about it? How about the fact that there are hundreds of duels called over the dueling week? The standings keeper has to wait until all the officials have made up their reports, then oganize them, check them for errors, incorporate them into the standings that already exist, check for errors again and then write them up where all can see. >>>>

I like that, the idea that if it's up late, the keeper spent all free time checking for errors. However, I simply know that's not the case. If you want to know how I came to believe this, read away:

Last week, I had a meager dueling week. One win on Saturday, one loss on Sunday, maintaining 5 WoL. But, regardless, I merrily checked the standings the next Saturday (or maybe it was Friday), seeing as they were freshly updated. I read down the paper, humming, when I noticed something: I wasn't listed in the Master-at-Arms section where I belong! Frantically I searched for my name, when I saw that I was listed as a Swordsman! I checked the
"The Duels" section, thinking that maybe the referee hadn't sent my victory into the Standings Keeper. My win was listed. I looked at the Standings again. I was listed as a Swordsman. Realizing that it was nothing more than a simple mistake in computation, I immediately sent off a letter to the Keeper, politely informing of my rank-changing miscalculation.

The next day, I received a letter, saying that the mistake will be fixed ASAP.

It's Thursday. I'm still listed as a swordsman. I find a problem with this.

Quizxs
The bigger problem is that I did not duel any, yesterday, even though I could. I refuse to duel under an incorrect rank, for it would mean not being allowed to exercise a fairly-earned privilege.

Hundreds of duels? Funny.. you wouldn't think you'd have that many if the RDI's showed up 2 hours late. Though I am glad that they take time out of their lives to call, don't get me wrong. But I cannot say it isn't frusterating to wait 2 and a half hours for one duel.

Just my few words:

Become an RDI, do the duties, then see why you should complain. Be THANKFUL that the standings come up **AT ALL.** The RDIs (despite their faults-we all have them so hush, speaking nicely) volunteer their time to do this. If anyone thinks that they can do better, DO IT. Prove yourself and stop running your mouth. Lets see how much thanks or thoughts you get in the end.

Very curt, PO'ed, and more than respectful to the RDIs,

I'd like to mirror Agrenish's words, and add a few of my own.

Obviously you're an impatient individual. And I feel for you because of this. But as far as I know, you have at least a tiny amount of respect and gratefulness for there actually BEING a Standings Area at ALL! But no, you have to go along and bite the hand that has given you food. {Or however it's said.} So as far as I'm concerned, just shut up and duel. And pray that you don't get on Drake's
nerves to a point where she "forgets" to update your particular rank. Thank you.

Aspen, just out of curiosity, why have you put blank pieces of paper with your sig up all over the board?

The papers aren't blank, Pol. They're written in invisible ink. They were basically saying how stupid Galin is. I didn't want to say anything, but you just had to open that can of worms, didn't you?
Sheesh, great job.
