Results of the Challenge for the Tenth (Var vs. Morn)
From: rdistormi@aol.com (RDI Stormi)

Hear Ye, Hear Ye.....
TO the Duel of Swords Community, let it be known. I, RDI Stormi and friends and family, did bear witness to the Challenge issued forth by Warlord Mornlythe shena Jor'ethan to Baron Var Medici-Giovanni for the right to wear the Tenth Baronial Ring of DoS.
Mornlythe did wield the cursed ebon scimitar appropriately named "Cthulhu". He dueled under a sigil of four black intertwining crescent moons set against a blood red field. His lady of Honor was the Lady Aiya Salem who unfortunately was away planning their wedding at the time. He had no second stand at his side.
Var did wield the rapier "Fallen Crew," in memory of those friends of his who have passed away. He dueled under the colors of two metallic silver swords clashing over an ocean blue background. His Lady of Honor was the Lady NVar oelle Medici-Giovanni. His second was his first son, Noble Morgan Medici-Giovanni.
The duel did proceed as follows:
Round 1: Var opens with a skillful and most fancy circular parry, but Morn manages a skillful high cut, sailing over the defense to give him the first point of the match. 1-0 Mornlythe.
Round 2: The next round begins with Var shifting to offense with a powerful low cut; Morn however manages to thrust "Cthulhu" quickly over it to make the score 2-0, Mornlythe.
Round 3: Morn then turns his blade in a most fancy lateral parry, knocking aside Var's attempted return thrust. 3-0 Mornlythe.
Round 4: Var sends "Fallen Crew" high and connects with a shoulder, as Morn answers with a low sweep to the shins. 4-1 Mornlythe.
Round 5: As Var dances aside quite fancily, alas he cannot outpace Morn's continued flurry of cuts, this time high. Mornlythe takes the point and the right to wear the 10th Baronial Ring.
Mornlythe defeats QuickVarMG, 5-1 in 5 rounds.
The new Baron aligns himself Neutral to the Overlord.

I have a small speech to give, so bear with me.
First of all, I'd like to congratulate Morn on his very convincing win, and I'd like to thank Stormi for her magnificent calling, especially on such short notice.
I am, already, stating my intentions to return challenge to Lord Morn'lythe for a few reasons.
First of all, Morn'lythe has, on more than one occassion, bested me. I feel it is a challenge when you duel someone under said circumstances. I challenged Leto when he bested me in the Warlord's tourney, I challenged Agrenish, and I then challenged Drake.
Second of all, I would like to hold the ring again. Not because I think it is mine, as some see a ring as their's, but because with the ring, I'd like to etch more accolades into the history of the ring.
If I let my loss set me back (as much as he did beat me), then I would have left the ring a long time ago, for not succeeding.
The "Boomerang Baron" has been thrown out, once again. He plans to return very soon, optimally to the person who tossed him in the first place. Whenever I get thrown out, I plan on returning, unless the winds of fate change my direction, which would lead me out of the arena.
An noble win, Lord Morn'lythe, and a very convincing one at that. It will be an honor to cross blades again when the time is right. Furthermore, I appreciate your flexibility with my strict schedule.
Simply,
Var Medici-Giovanni

Morn'lythe,
Very well done. Keep up the good work you have done as a Warlord as a Baron, though if you dueled a little more it certainly wouldn't hurt. You are worthy of your ring and I believe that you can continue to prove so.

Var,
I would like to thank thee for the compliment and for the honor of crossing blades. As I said before I await your call to the rings. Twas one of my main reasons for challanging you. I was sure you would come back like ye've done in the past. Again i await your challange and well fought.
Percy m'friend,
I wholeheartedly agree with ye on that and would love to duel more for it is one of my joys. Unfortunately I shall be away from the rings for a week or two to relax on my honeymoon. After that I will with all efforts possible to return to the rings.

The trick is Morn, is that before you throw the boomerang this time, you break it in half. Make sure it ain't gonna work.

The boomerang's a lot like your ego, Agrenish; it just can't be broken.
