>>You would most likely be among the first people crucifying Drey for challenging if he wasn't in HDT, so please, enough with your holier-than-thou attitude?<<

Sartan,

Bone up on current events. There is no HDT.

Drey,

It is all well and good to want a ring, but such manufactured reasons for a challenge don't sit well with some. Don't expect the people you challenge to become your best friends. It happens sometimes, but the reverse happens far more often.
Sure, Lucian's response was extreme, even insulting. Still, if you aren't willing to be insulted, don't challenge. Someone will *always* insult you when you challenge. Sooner you learn that, the better. Don't stoop to the level of those who insult you.

Actually, Lupton, you were insulted in your last challenge. Upon Daegarth's public challenge issued, I said on the boards:

" While I was aware of both challenges, I started thinking (the world gasps at the announcement, right?).
Anyways... I am wondering if Daegarth was even aware that Cassius was challenged two days ago by Lupton. It obviously was not on these boards, and, from my eyes and an assumption, Drake even felt inclined to announce the peer win validation and the que publicly. How many were surprised that Cas was already challenged?
I just think it would be more appropriate to actually announce your challenge in public."

G'nort then replies with:
"Var,

It's Lupton. Since when has appropriate applied to him?"

So basically, Lupton, despite the fact you never posted your challenge on the boards, you still got words thrown out about you. To be blunt, after tryint to participate in the warlord's tourney when you already made baron before, and the fact you never posted your challenge on the boards, I tend to agree with G.

Var, Lupton means he didn't get insulted by the other party in the Challenge.

The reasoning for this is because I try to be a decent human being, believe it or not.

Lupton,

Is that really what you meant, or is Cas talking for someone again?

Cassius,
I did not insult Morn when he challenged me either. Unless I misunderstood, Lupton's statement was incorrect when he said, "No one insulted me in my last challenge."
In fact, there are a number of people who have not responded with insult. Just a few names off the top of my head:

Seamus
AJ
Adeena (when challenged by Gloria, I believe it was. I don't remember the others.)
Magnus
Galin
Unagi
Eros
Dexter
Dalamar (on a few challenges, one, specifically, was issued by Rand unless I'm mistaken. I can't remember all who challenged him.)
Leto (when I challenged him for the tenth)

Those are all just a few whom I think of off the top of my head, who have not insulted their challenger. I am sure Lupton was not under the pretense that Percival meant to say "Expect insult from the challenged."

For better reference, people who have been here longer would remember more names.

No insults have been thrown in any of my challenge/defense matches. I guess that is why only a few of them had good turn outs, huh?

Not by you personally, Roland, no. But your challengers have been insulted by others, as have you.

"Not by you personally, Roland, no. But your challengers have been insulted by others, as have you."

I can't recall being outright insulted for giving challenge, nor can I recall any of my opponents being insulted for their initial challenging (I believe the challenger who's challenge was thrown out for not sidelining the rules was outright insulted only after the challenge had gone to the council and it was certainly not by anyone with the backbone to say it to the man's face). At least none of these insults were cast to my face or in reach of my
informant's ears. Even then I would feel more pity towards the person than insulted.

The fact of the matter is that I have never felt insulted during a challenge, nor to my knowledge, any of my opponents. The only times I have felt insulted here is when someone totally disregards and discredits my actions and existence, which seems to happen all too frequently when I pass through these halls. Call it pride, call it a need to be recognized once in a blue moon, call it whatever.

I'm sorry for bringing it up, my post carry a hint of self-glorification, I suppose.

Retired,

Roland

I believe people insulted Clutch, who was a new warlord at the time when he challenged you, Roland. I remember a big issue about him being new.
